Did anyone notice that the house with the old people in it that were oogling the baby... it's lawn needed mowing.

So, we wander through vacant areas populated by only zombies with well kept lawns, and here is a place with an actual population and the lawn is ragged. Don't they have an HOA?
Sounds like a Darryl job opportunity. Or maybe Rosita...

Now that the group's arrived, I'm sure Lori will have the lawn in tiptop shape very soon.

Maybe it's just as simple as rick just takes this place over. For once they go somewhere with better setup and they just take out everyone that's a threat.

This would be an interesting turn.

They become the bad guys, the group divides Rick/Daryl/Abe vs Michone/Glen/Carol and gets kicked out with some initial members from this compound and a huge fight begins.

It's pretty obvious they kicked out their last muscle. All they really have left are those two guys that went out with Glenn, ms. owl sculpture's husband and some teenagers.

Headcount of the whole crew is what? no more than 20 They now account for probably 40% of it.

If they did turn out the group that turned into the wolves then that's why they are there. To ultimately defend against that group, that tears down walls and chops people in half, no? Too simple?

I mean they have two people that already like messing with walkers for fun in the camp.

Why would the wolves be in range of this group. Even these guys say they have a 55mi radius. Possible they don't even know this place exists
We are assuming the Wolves are lead by the 3 that were exiled from Alexandria, one of them being the husband of Deanna and father of the boy Glenn knocked to the ground.

Seems like a good bet that. IF they are still alive. they know how self sustainable Alexandria is and would be planning a way to get back to it.
What makes people think Deanna's husband was one of the exiled? I can see the exiled people, and the girl, being part of a group but not necessarily leading it. I guess it's safe to say they are the "wolves" since it all seems to be leading to them making an appearance by the end of the season.

It would be very cool if groups who had been out in the wild since the beginning began to sprout weird headgear and hairstyles and started wearing hockey masks and assless chaps like the bad guys in Road Warrior.

Something smells. The show finally took a great turn in the second half of this season. I consider the last episode the very best since the show came back on. Rick is feeling like if these people are not right, weak or up to no good we are taking over this place and making it our home.

Daryl does not trust a thing going on in Alexandria. I trust Daryl's instincts more than any member of the group. He is a survivor. Michone is showing her maternal/sensitive side and is tired. She wants this to be real. She wants a mani and pedi plus a massage.

Things are getting very interesting again....finally.

No, Lori will be too busy redesigning the walls to put the supports on the inside. It is amazing all she has done on this show since they stopped showing her.

or like in The 100 (another post-apocalyptic show that I love, despite it being pretty terrible).

My alarm bells would be ringing like Daryl's - not that the Alexandrians are bad people but they are so scared of something else that they'd let this group in. Anyone seeing this group should be terrified - that they're not means there's a much worse group threatening Alexandria.

No offense - but obviously somethings smells. Otherwise the show is over.

What have the people of Alexandria been doing to secure the town for the past two years? Looks like they put up the wall and said "Well, that's secure. No one could ever drive through a corrugated metal fence that is braced on the outside."

I think we are going on the fact that Northern Virginia was evacuated and the military never came back for them. I'd be interested to know where they got evac'd to, but based on what we were told, that means there aren't many people at all around here. Not surprising that no one has attacked if no one is around and no one is telling people to go to that area. If it was evac'd, probably no messages out to people like the ones in Atlanta where they had camps. Maybe they mobilized the military in DC to go elsewhere and they didn't return.

Anyway, if you believe the story, seems pretty safe to assume they haven't really been attacked or that any rogue gangs know about them. Seems like they are at least careful (not like Terminus early) to not tell people about their location, so it would take a spy (if Enid is) or an exiled person to run into a gang that had the firepower to overpower them. Well, that or a herd.

Not really. They could have been brought in to defend the community against an outside threat. But I think the threat is inside. Something is very off.

Obviously.

I'm not liking the new town at all. And, Ricks comment is a little short sighted.

The new group has said a lot of things but none of it matches up. 55 mile radius but you can't kill one Walker or you want the Walker to pay because he got one of your friends? Two teenagers that seem to have little clue of what the world is like right now? It's been 18 months, they have to know something about what's behind the walls.

A lady that claims her husband is a construction worker or something like that and he uses one barrier of thin metal? With the posts on the outside? Just dumb.

The one thing about this new place is that it is actually dangerous to be there. What is the one thing people want I this type of world? Security, right? Well, once you have something everyone wants you now have to protect it. And, they willingly handed over their weapons although Michonne and Darrel still have theirs.

And, they're in the backyard of the military capital of the world. You don't think a congresswoman has some pull while this was going down? She can't return to her district? Then, she's abandoned in some Podunk town to fend for herself?

Rick better know better. And the group should know better. This is no Terminus or anything but it still smells fishy and not in a good way.
Why bring MIshonne into this?

The congresswoman said that they had recently lost 4 people and exiled 3,so their muscle could have been what was lost at that time. This ties back to the fact they send two poorly armed gay guys out into the wild to do recon without backup or the means to defend themselves against a horde of zombies or a crew of marauders. They are understaffed and overwhelmed by this world and need muscle with that survival aspect intact.

Well....the military branch of the community will be welcomed with open arms and then the internal power struggle will begin shortly thereafter.

I'll suggest that the 4 people they recently lost was due to aggressive humans, rather than walkers. Especially since they've made it a point that the area was evacuated and very few dead or alive are around. So how do you lose 4 people in a short time span against a very sparse population of walkers?

Because their ROTC leader is a moron and if not for Glenn, most likely would have lost another of his men. I can easily believe that he lost 4 people due to his idiocy.

I'm going to take the congresswoman at her word that she would have been a poker player and everything we have seen is a big bluff. Rick and team are about to eat ####, again.

:goodposting:

I think it's possible the walker used for target practice was a live person these guys caught.

Maybe for revenge for them killing their guys (wolves)?

What kind of name is Enid? No wonder she seems anti-social. Stupid parents.
Enid backwards is Dine, which is the Alexandrians are going to use Rick's group for.

its pretty obvious the people of alexandria brought in rick and the crew to fight off any aggressive groups that may come knocking
Right. And I don't think that there has to be some impending danger, either. Clearly the Congresswoman is no dummy. And it doesn't take a mega-genius to realize that their community, as it currently stands, lacks the numbers to protect itself. Frankly, there may not be any impending danger (at least that the community is aware of) since Rick's group was watched and vetted for a significant period of time.

I think this is absurd knowing what we now know.

They had two guys trailing a group for a short time and approached them. There is no freaking way that this team set out in search of rick 2 hours away, it was just simply right place right time. For all we know they were looking for the wolves to kill off.

no reason to think that this group in this situation would turn down basically any live bodies that had been on the roam. They probably just wanted to watch them to make sure they weren't out to kill people, and to that extent if the two guys never came back, then well they weren't meant to be.

It's also pretty absurd that they with all this scouting and intel weren't discovered by this crew.

Or it could be that the exiled ones were doing the tracking, felt that Rick's group would ultimately be a threat, and therefore were cast off.... and then they sent LL Bean and his boyfriend out to bring them in diplomatically. Who knows.

Also - and this is not directed at you, just a separate thought... but it boggles my mind that some of you continue to watch the show if you're so overly critical of it. Me? If a show has me going "oh come on now" every 5 minutes, I stop watching altogether.

Trying to think of what all observers would have seen of them. Walking away from the zombies who were following them, and doing the smart thing at the bridge, were about all I could recall.

Which, I suppose maybe "they don't cut zombies in half and load the upper half into the back of trucks" was really all the observers needed to see.
