***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

I liked the episode but I wish they had aired it in the summer to catch us up on Morgan instead of tossing it in right after Glenn's intense episode.

Horrible episode. What were they thinking here?
Huh? Great episode. Good grief people, you think every episode has to be fist of fury. Great acting by Lenny James and John Carroll Lynch. I love it when one or two actors can carry an entire show. It was a good time for this type of episode.

So he became a ninja in what, a week? Seems reasonable.

I did like how the bald guy finally suggested going to the coast and finding an island. I was pretty hammered again but what reason did the bald guy give for having to leave the compound?

I've said all along (since the beginning of this series) that an island is a great place to be. You can control post death a lot better and it obviously keeps herds away. In the fear the walking dead they mentioned Hawaii as an option. I'm surprised this hasn't come up earlier in the series. Not sure if Eastman gave a reason however.

He thought being around people was important.

I think he just wanted some trim

See, now this I could have dealt with.. Run it before the season starts

Run it after an intense episode of a possible death of a main character

For quite a few seasons people were wondering what happened to Morgan? What was he doing? Then the past year people were wondering where he got his ninja skills from? The clamored for the directors to show these things.

They finally do, and no one is happy.

I'm not surprised....

We didn't need a 90 minute episode though. And with everything that happened in the previous episode, it just seemed like a weird time to have one dedicated to all things Morgan.

It was a good episode, and I will take 90 min of TWD every week if I could. There will NEVER be an appropriate time for this type of episode according to many. People will always ##### and moan about them when they show them.

The writers are intentionally ####### with us, which is annoying.

I would have much rather had a couple weeks leading up to the "real" episode one be "character development" episodes.. This was just a wrong place to have a "character Development" episode..

Last night's episode probably works better as part of the season premier. 60 minutes of Morgan mixed in with 30 minutes current day. And as a nod to his past, he can pass that wolf the Scientology packet as an effort to reform him.

No Morgan episode would have been perfect after episode 2. Wouldnt have worked as season premiere because he was telling his story to a wolf.

I've never been a fan of doing this type of thing and this was no different. It was interesting enough but it feels like there was no WD this week. They could have worked this in over the past 2 seasons and it might have even had a bigger impact on the viewer when Morgan comes to Alexandria and sees all the killing going on. Poorly done, imo.

I really enjoyed this episode.

Gave another perspective of the zombie apocalypse, that humans are not meant to live alone. When they live alone they tend to go crazy.

Both actors were enjoyable to watch. I especially liked that Eastman ended up doing exactly what he intended and starved the prisoner who killed his family. Good story.

It's a shame that you know Obi-Eastman is going to die the second you meet him. I'd have liked a different ending when maybe their cabin gets overrun with a herd and they escape then go their separate ways. Or at least let him die in a blaze of glory, not some crap "I'm too stupid to hit this slow walker in the head with my staff and instead will expose my back to it for an extended period of time".

TDogg mentioned it a few times. Or at least, heading to the coast and getting a boat, dont 100% recall if he ever said island.

Yup, I enjoyed it a lot too. Been waiting for the Morgan Backstory episode and this did not disappoint. Really strong script and two great performances.

+1 on thinking it was great.

Do wish they would have come up with something better than Eastman just turned his back saving Morgan and got bit. I thought it was good they worked in that the walker was the guy Morgan choked out at the beginning though and that's why he froze.

Poor Tabitha. You just knew she was gonna get eaten at some point.

Episode was actually 64 minutes without commercials.

I liked it but the timing was awful. Also, the backstory was interesting but Morgan is still a #####.

I like that sometimes characters just die needlessly or stupidly. I don't want every character to die a heroic death. Sometimes stupid s**t just happens.

I think Morgan will have to start killing again or go crazy again. In the world they live in now, you have to be okay with killing bad people, because if you don't, you in effect kill the good people around you who the bad people you let live end up killing. If that makes any sense.

I think the episode did a good job of showing that Morgan isn't really New Morgan as much as he is still "Clear" Morgan but just trying to put a cap on all the crazy still inside. He's a time bomb. I don't think it's a coincidence that they used Michonne's "I think he's dangerous" line from "Clear" as part of the opening preview for this episode.

:goodposting:

It felt like Morgan was holding back the seething anger and desire to kill the Wolf near the end of the episode. I think he's going to blow a gasket and unleash plenty of crazy at some point!

Also, count me in as someone who liked the episode. I thought it was a quiet episode following three crazy ones and the acting was very good.

Well, it's a shame that Morgan is the single biggest threat to the group.... assuming the hoard is ultimately redirected. Better start compiling the list of body bags Morgan is directly or indirectly responsible for.

I like the episode right up until the part where ninja man gets bit by a slow walker. this is a guy that has fended off anything for a year or more, is an Akido master and has defeated Morgan a couple times already. He's basically Chuck Norris and yet he lets himself get bit in the back by a walker. did not buy it.

First time in a long time he felt responsible for something other than a goat.

but you knew it was coming...

I liked the episode as a casual fan.

Smart characters shouldn't die stupidly. Alexandrians dying like that, sure.

And he walked 30 miles to his cabin at the start of the outbreak.
