I thought that too. Definitely her shooting posture. I think its a cheap fake out, though. too fast to have her involved with that group, not with the way the Kingdom folk seem to be minding her business.

It wasn't Carol. Her entire story arc this season has been about her not wanting to fight. It's gonna take something big to draw her back in and I think we'll see it. We haven't seen it yet.

Maybe but that will necessitate her already being back in the group which she clearly wants to avoid right now. I think something will happen in the Kingdom to draw her out.

I think you're not giving them enough.
We can argue whether the motivations characters are given make sense or not but big character developments have always come with an explanation on the show.

Simon already had Gregory kneel to him, so he is mentally putting himself in the same status as Negan to the world, so I agree with this 100%.

Have we forgotten that Heath is still out there somewhere? Is he the character in the boots that has found a new group to hang out with and hooked up with Father Gabriel?I just re-watched the episode during my work out and my initial thoughts were correct.. They come up the On ramp, while moving the cars Michonne see's the trap.. while they are looking over the trap Carl ( or Coral depending on your punctuation) mentions that while hiding in the truck he overheard people talking about a "herd Trap".
After the Slice & Dice, they continue on the way they had been heading before they saw the trap.
Also, Re-watched closely the beginning when they went back and showed the clip at the end of the Mid-season break..
Boots watched Gab, and then walks towards Alexandria.. When this episode starts, Gab is up on the lookout now, keeps looking down, looks at his bible and shakes his head "yes" at which time he starts loading the car.
I am assuming that between the end of Mid-season and the start of this episode Gab talks with Boots and comes to the conclusion that they need the help and need to help others.
And yea, sure enough, as he is driving away you do see a head pop up in the Passengers seat ( back seat was full of supplies).

No, that would simply be stupid of him to not just knock and come in and see people.
Maybe Gabe met boots when he took the long walk home after getting out of the car when he was with Spencer.

So I rewatched some parts. Rick definitely said he wanted the cars put back in place to keep the herd on the highway because "we might need them".
Little foreshadowing? Alexandria, Hilltop, Kingdom, Oceanside, and a HERD gonna take down the Saviors? Oh boy oh boy.

I was thinking more along the lines of covering the fact they took most of the explosives.. If there is a boom and a bunch of bits they might ignore the fact it should have been a bigger boom.

Rick happily used walkers as assistants before when they were escaping Terminus, so I can easily see him using their adding to the confusion to help an assault.

it is amazing how the Walking Dead doesn't learn from their missteps. the need to continuously beat things into viewers heads is just terrible. the story was told so much better in the comic, and i can't tell why they feel they need to keep going away from it. i think AMC has to take the blame for it.
Worst part is that they keep getting away with it. they love to bleed every drop they can from this so i don't see them stopping, but honestly if i was Kirkman i would try and distance myself from this show more and more. i think he has been doing this, then the F'ers say screw it and throw out "Fear the Walking Dead"
i know people complain on here all the time etc., but my complaints here are based on the fact that i liked the source material a ton. it is much more of a depressing disappointment, rather then the "holier then thou" others have used to quit the show
ETA: really think AMC is the issue here. When this show first started, and they had their other hits it seemed like they got it. i don't know if it panic or what, but it seems that around Walking Dead season 3 and the ending of Breaking Bad things changed. i can't think of a watchable show they have after making great calls with Mad Men, BB, etc. since then they have had so many missteps.

I probably will still watch this on Sunday night but this is quickly slipping into something that falls into the DVR queue for later in the week. This show is getting really bad, its almost like they are intentionally doing this. Nothing is making sense.

I didn't take the character seriously when she started talking, using caveman speak. Bad comic/cartoon level of ridiculous with that. Let alone them living in garbage dump. Or randomly walking in different directions before forming two circles around the group- they all came out from the same place, but then just started walking different directions so it would look like times square at rush hour on our TV screens.
Also... Rick is never going to be in peril from a group like this- just from a dumb TV narrative stand point.
Shader... I didn't mind Darryl not telling Carol the truth. It was an act of empathy/sympathy to spare her from implosion and moving towards a direction she just said she couldn't go.
What's going to make Morgan take action? To protect Carol when she inevitably find out the truth and storms off?

Losing Beth was a starting step.. Being the reason Glenn is dead has sent him deeper into the dark zone. Although by the end of this week he decided he couldn't just sit back and do nothing and is heading off to Hilltop, ready to take matters into his own handsFreeBaGeL said:

Ho hum episode. New group is easily the least interesting of the ones we've met so far. Other than their sheer numbers don't know why Rick would even bother with them. I thought the Daryl-Carol stuff was the best part of the episode. Daryl showing compassion for Carol by not telling her what happened to the group was well done but while Mopey Carol makes sense from a story development perspective with her character it doesn't lend itself to interesting drama. At some point she needs to get back in the game.
I was hoping the second half of the season would provide a real jolt of excitement after the uneven first half but so far that hasn't happened. I don't feel like the show is spinning its wheels or stuck. Gimple is clearly trying to tell a different type of story than anything attempted before. It just hasn't hit completely on the mark yet. Maybe that's to come. I hope so.

The whole Gabriel angle UGGGHHHHHHHH
Last week many of us figured he talked with Boots, and decided to help.. Nope, he was attacked in the pantry.. which leads to.
1. Of the entire Alexandria border he is the ONLY one out there watching at night.. Really??
2. Being the only watchdog, he decides that is the perfect time to go check on the pantry??
3. What is the use of having a gate if it is THAT easy for someone to get in, find the pantry and wait in hiding for someone to come in??
4. Who told Gabriel about the Boat?
Rick & Aaron never did, and can't imagine Boots said "I'm taking back the items Rick & Aaron took from the boat".
No idea who wrote that Gabriel story line but they should be fired immediately as they have no idea what the F they are doing..... End

on how Carol, Morgan and the Kingdom comes into play...Someone from the Kingdom that matters to the King, and in the end to Carol & Morgan, is going to get killed. Although losing Richard would be a shock, I don't think that would be enough.. So who is left?? The Kid..
The King feels fully responsible for his parents deaths and so has "adopted" him... Morgan has taken the kid under his wings to train and teach.. Carol so far only had one run in with him, but showed enough "compassion" to teach him how to handle himself in the woods..
Thus, I think the Kid gets killed in a couple of weeks, sending The King, Morgan and Carol into a full out rage to get revenge.

One more thought about the Garbage Pail kids... They said they don't do stuff, they just take... Right? If so, when given guns, are they just going to stand around while everybody fights and then try to take stuff when the fighting is done?

I liked it. Tara needs to step up and tell them about Oceanside and all those weapons there.
It was cool that they used the truck from Smokey and the Bandit. When Daryl was dancing there with Richard, I told the wife "hey, that looks like the Smokey and the Bandit truck." Turns out it was.

2- I thought he said he heard noise in the pantry (however plausible), so went to investigate.
3- the wall has the supports on the outside... perfect for climbing over. No gate needed.
4- I think he said that they asked him where the supplies from the boat were.
I'm not trying to defend this group- which reaches pretty ridiculous lows so far... but I thought I'd try to answer your questions.
