You know, make the show more about zombies.
If I want to see how people interact under stressful circumstances, I can find that on dozens of shows.  I'm not here for the hugs, the tears, or quiet conversations about what it means to be human.  WE GET IT ALREADY.  When I watch NCIS New Orleans, there's going to be interaction between the team.  All kinds of filler that just fluffs out the edges.  The dude that flirts with the woman, the older lady trying to raise her son right, the guy dealing with being in a wheelchair, all kinds of stuff.  But at the end of the day they know the backbone of that show is discovering, investigating, and solving crimes.  Is this show about zombies or not?

The answer to the bold question was answered seasons ago.. "The Walking Dead" is NOT in reference to the "zombies".. Thus, this show is NOT about zombies..

Hope that helps. ;)

"The Walking Dead" refers to the survivors.  They're all dead, they just don't know it yet.

I used to really really love this show.... but 2 seasons ago it started getting pretty dumb... and this last half season just seems absolutely horrible to me. I am losing any desire to even watch it really. The GF and I used to be rivited but now find ourselves sorta half watching and multi-tasking / leaving the room.

Wish it wasn't that way... as it was SUCH a good show initially... but that gritty core seems so far gone and has been replaced by horrible acting, lazy writing, and overly dramatic scenes. :(

I know I know... "then why are you here" .... "GTFOH"....etc.  Just sorta lamenting after watching this week's episode.

Same here. It's not a Sunday night watch any more. It's a Wednesday or Thursday night if I don't have anything else to watch.   Heading to the territory of FTWD where I'll just marathon it one rainy weekend. :kicksrock:

Loved the "Mid-season" Premiere.. But agree this last episode was

Here's to hoping they are ready to move onto the war and stop with the "why war?"

I never watch it on Sunday.   The amount of commercials you have to sit through are ridiculous, normally 7-8 commercials.    I would have stopped watching the show years ago if it wasn't for the DVR.

I've been rooting against Rick's group for a couple of seasons now.   Go Negan!
Negan's crew is awesome... but WTF is up with "Simon McStache" Trying to act like Negan's personality when talking to folks... the emotive sing songy head bobbing talking style.

original story was based on the story about a man and his son and how their relationship evolves in apocalypse. that has been kind of dismissed too, so seems the TV show doesn;t mind going different direction

lol, like a majority of the show, only part that was good was pulled from the comic. Comic tells it better, but the use of zombie blood was a good move

What was with the nightgown?  I took it to mean that they stripped her, raped her and left her to die and that was the only hint they could give the PG audience.
She had given up her role as weird talking garbage leader and reverted back to her "artist that scours the dump" person that she was before the apocalypse.

She had surrendered to her failure

Thought the last two episodes sucked. I've seen every episode of the entire series.

You know what would have made this episode better? Doctor and Gabriel get away. Little kid kills the guy with long hair in the pen as Morgan holds him down. Maggie takes the old fart Gregory and mounts him on a pike out front the gate.

Definitely. These writers are terrible. They will just keep dragging this out until the finale.

Can definitely tell the 2nd half is "Stretch it out to the final battle" .. We might finally get some of the "war" next week with the zombie Gut infested weapons plan.

Gabriel believes god will lead. No, really?.. Never heard that from him before. Glad we spent most of the episode on that story line..
Tara, who had a 1 week love affair, is bent on revenge regardless of the consequences.. Yea, glad we spent most of this week on that..
Hilltop, the one supposed saving community, somehow can't grow food, or find it. Best laid plan, rather then sending others out to try and find food is to just let the prisoners starve.
Mullet man  has decided treating women as garbage is the best plan to get in good with Negan.. Look at me Boss I'm just like you!!!

If you had been without access to the Internet or TV the last two weeks, you didn't miss a :censored: thing.

Assuming last one is Gabriel. Man, I thought he finally turned the corner. Last thing we need is another Morgan who can’t figure out which person he is. Ugh, his character was the worst before he turned he corner.
Pretty much.. About the only thing to add would have been a blind man, since way too much time was spent showing Gabriel possibly going blind..

Only to miraculous read a sign over 50 yards away warning of bear traps, then Doc getting Trapped, only to have Gabriel close his eyes and perform a perfect head shot of a zombie that was on top of the doc.

For the rest of the shooters on the show, who have a hard time with a clean head shot with your eyes open.....  just close your eyes and let God lead you..

I’m really looking forward to watching it tonight. If you aren’t optimistic this one really is a bad show.

Really sucks seeing the show you looked forward to watch every week (with my oldest a few seasons in) and now I come in here to get my expectations lowered before I watch so I’ll be less disappointed. So far gone from episodes like Rick biting that guy’s throat out while Carl is almost raped. You’d think in a “war” we’d be seeing carnage and craziness.

If you want to get back to the fun, go watch Punisher on Netflix. Just finished the first season and it was awesome.

Punisher was Great stuff.. Enjoying Season 2 of Jessica Jones.. But we digress.. ;)

Like I said, they are dragging out this last part of season 2 to get to the final battle.. Whether that will be over the last two episodes, or just the finale, who knows..

Only hope is the end of last nights episode leads to some "War" part of the "All out War" Season title.

Piss poor writing aside, are we getting desensitized to the zombie stuff? the swamp zombies last night would have been pretty cool like 5-6 years ago I'm thinking.  Now its just kinda meh whatever another zombie that won't kill anyone...

It's as if the writers want us to keep in mind, a random bite could take you out at any time (Carl), but then they want to show how experienced and seasoned the group is at taking them down (Daryl and Rosita in the swamp).  Which way is it?  Some episodes, they're easily knifing them or slicing heads open, then there's an episode where we see someone go up, grab the zombie, struggle with it and fend it off with their forearms, wrestle it to the ground, zombie ends up on top of them, and they're barely able to get their gun/knife free or have to rely on someone else to kill it before they get bit.  By now this group should NEVER have an excuse to touch one if they see it coming. But every episode we see at least someone get surprised by one that they knew was there.

I think Michonne is the only person that basically handles them consistently in this show.  I guess the infinite reach of a sword will do that though...

I think that’s the problem with the show lately. I haven’t watched but from your description it makes Carl’s death stupid as if they just wrote him getting bit after they decided he’d die. With this group now, two walkers in the woods shouldn’t ever be tough. Knock one down and they are out of it for a bit. The whole sneak attack from the one not in view is silly. Same with the attack on Negan’s folks where they couldn’t kill the people who died next to them or got let out of a door. The whole show had just been so wishy washy with characters (Morgan) and if zombies are easy or hard to kill. I still remember being pissed that they let the Governor escape Andrea’s attack. Would have been a great ending to him.

Cool I suppose.. But seeing no zombies at all as they walk and stab and then having 10 rise up at the exact same moment was

yea that was pretty lame I guess.   Can zombies breath under water? or what's the rule there?
No rules. Most lore says they can survive but one would think if they are stuck for that long they’d have decayed to nothing. There should be a huge difference between brand new zombies and old falling apart ones. Sometimes there isn’t and the ones with little to no muscle left still overpower people, usually depends on if they are supposed to die that episode or not.

Boring last night.  But I was holding out hope that Dwight would swing around and bicth slap Tara and and shoot her with her own gun.  So tired of her.

It's pretty funny how Carl died because he was trying to help a stranger rather than because he decided to engage a bunch of zombies (who were happily occupied eating a dead animal) in hand to hand combat.

But at least now they killed off the other doctor so that his "sacrifice" would have more meaning.
