***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (2 Viewers)

Thought last night's episode was decent. I am however sick of spoiled rich boy.. I was really hoping last night would be his last.. was good to see red armor take out spoiled kids lackey's.

Should be interesting next week when the power hungry mayor heads to hilltop with Daryl.

This was the best episode in a long, long time. I’m betting this next episode is where rich boy gets shiv’d by Darrel, Rosalita or Vader.

The last couple episodes have been much better.

But I couldn't help wonder why Daryl closed the security door when one woman has already been trapped and the electrical was acting up.  I would have propped it a little bit...

Hopefully the midseason finale will be an all out battle... Daryl's ex being hired to take out Maggie.. Mercer might finally listen to his inner voice and take out the trash... Would it be too much to ask for snob rich kid and Hornby to be taken out??  :oldunsure:

There's still some dumb stuff going on, but overall, I'm enjoying these episodes a lot more than previous seasons. The larger scale "world re-building" was really what I was interested in and that's obviously kinda where they're going with The Commonwealth.

Of course, there's some villains emerging now. But IMO, the struggle for power in the civilized new world is more interesting than just repeating the Governor/Negan/reapers/other random "warlord" power struggle we've seen half a dozen times.

I do find Maggie very annoying though. Holding onto the shell of Hilltop when there's a 50,000 person community offering safety/ice cream/sophisticated medical treatment is beyond stupid (even though we've seen that not everyone from there is squeaky clean or even "Good")

huh.... this is the stuff I'm interested in too- so maybe it's time for me to come back.

god help me.

I almost spoilered it.  How do I keep getting one episode ahead?

All I will say is that relegating the most charismatic character in the entire to series to the roll of a babysitter is the gosh darned dumbest frustrating thing ever.  They had one thing to do - keep those two at each other's throats.  FFS!

So I know people have dropped off the show as it comes to an end. I just bought into the walking dead NFTs from orange comet. The artwork is insane. Figured I would share here since some big things are coming this week. If you are new to NFTs this might be a great project for you

here are the Walker passes. These get you white list for public drops and there are also exclusive Walker pass holder drops. Let me know if you have any questions.

General observation/question.

How far is Commonwealth from Hilltop or Alexandria?  I mean, they lived their for quite some time now.  If it was close enough that Hornsby and troops can walk there, you would think they would have come across each other at some point in the last decade.

Good question.  Pretty sure CW is invisible to surrounding communities... sort of like Wakanda.  It is covered by an invisible shield, likely to protect their modest supply of vibranium.

The Maggie vs. Daryl's ex was intense even if you knew there was no way Maggie dies.

Other than that.

They could have at least killed off the spoiled rich kid as he is a worthless red shirt at this point.

Guess we have to wait until Fall for Hornsby to get what he deserves...

Wonder how long into part 3 of the final season before Rick and the garbage patch kid leader show up?

So the great ending of this thing is going to be some sort of resolution with the Commonwealth goons?  And Rick is supposed to show up?

No idea how the commonwealth storyline comes to an end..

But would be idiotic to not bring Rick back, especially if they still plan on the movies..

Figure he either is brought back with amnesia(hope they don't go that lazy way out), or has been locked up in some hell hole this entire time.. maybe rescued by Michonne :oldunsure:

I guess so. In addition to the movies there are 2 new spin offs built around 4 of the main characters, 2 each.

This week's FTWD was one of the most gawd awful episodes I ever sat through. How many times am I supposed to watch Alicia pass out? Just horrible.

Could be the worst episode in the entire TWD universe.  In between passing out, she tells anyone who will listen that she
has "to do this alone", yet she drags the group with her until she is where she wants to be then sends them away. "I have to do this alone."  Good grief.

This whole season with the nuclear fallout in one yard and clear as a bell 10 feet in either direction is just awful.  Morgan and Dwight wishing they were back in Virginia I bet.

Thought last nights show was pretty good.. Really wish they'd give Lucille a rebirth for one quick death blow to Hornsby and the whimpy son.

Will be interesting to see how they end this

Jesus this thing isn't over yet? How many more episodes do I have to sit through?
This season should be it. Pretty sure they nixed the Rick movies. I’m not sure how far behind I am as there were ones on Netflix and I sort of watched those, fast forwarded a lot.

Correct, the Rick Grimes movies were cancelled. Supposedly now will be a limited 6 episode series with him and Michone.

Multiple new spin-offs are still planned but AMC changes the details every time the wind blows. I may tune in for Rick and Michone but honestly don’t really care anymore. Gave up on this show like many others a long time ago.

Yeah, I find it very weird that they continue to try new spin off shows and limited series and webisodes and whatever else they're doing. I get that its a money-making enterprise and they want to milk as much out of the franchise as possible....but are there really THAT many hardcore fans left that are clamoring for more TWD content? So many shows out now....are there really people out there that can't let this one go?

Its dragged on for way too long and has been MOSTLY (not always, but mostly, IMO) bad for quite some time. Just END IT ALREADY!!!

As for Sunday's episode....meh. If I'm the gang.....I'm just keeping my head down and continuing to live in the safe 40,000 person community rather than risking conflict (which in the BEST CASE scenario, means you get tossed out back into the wasteland). Yeah, the governor and her crew are corrupt....oh well. I'll deal with that rather than scrounging for 15 year old cans of Spaghetti-O's thank you very much.

And every time some "well trained" Commonwealth soldier has a zombie slowly lumber up behind them and jump them while they're slowing 1-shotting the 40 slow moving zombies in front of them.....painful. Just a total clown show. They've got 40,000 people and they're sending out teams of TWO people to defend against a swarm. LOL. And then they manage to flip a jeep? Give me a freaking break.

Rick Grimes movies turned into a 6 episode mini-series, announcing spinoffs with characters before the series ends that take away any 'will they or won't they make it' suspense are just two of the latest missteps in how Scott Gimple has fumblebanged this show/franchise into oblivion.

A part of me will always wonder how good it could have been if they didn't fire Darabont.

The amount of luck that would need to go into a show retaining everyone from crew to actors over a 10 year span has to be lottery-esque.

Pretty funny that now Lauren Cohan is saying she wants to play Maggie FOREVER. Singing a different tune than she was 4 years ago when she tried to hitch a ride on the Scott Foley train to "stardom" with "Whiskey Cavalier" (13 episodes and cancelled)

Not too good for an ensemble cast all of a sudden, hey Laur....

So as good as The Walking Dead was for several years, is this really gonna end with a couple episodes of Eugene on trial with the climactic ending being his acquittal??
What was up with the "variant"? Way to bring up a fairly interesting new concept and then completely forget about it within seconds.
I think every actor this season should win an award. I am amazed they are even able to get through their scenes without just throwing their arms up and shouting "really? Guys this is stupid" every 5 minutes.
What did Eugene do anyway? Didn't he just push that a zombie off his woman and the zombie accidentally went the direction of the entitled brat?
What is even going on? Slaves making train tracks or something?? What work are they even doing?

AMC does themselves no favors by advertising a spin off coming n 2023, showing Negan and Ezekiel, while also trying to add suspense during the current episode that one of them might die.

No idea how they think they are going to wrap this up in 2 episodes after spending WAY too much time on the commonwealth political bs.
I did enjoy the end of this last episode.. Red stormtrooper stopping Eugene's execution with a "let's bleep this bleep up".. Also, when she dropped the zombie on the guys face, it was the perfect justice.

I'm guessing they wrap up taking control of commonwealth either by the end of this next episode, or early in the Finale, and we get another time jump of years to maybe a reunion with Rick

It's not even believable that this is the same show that produced the barn scene (just watched that again last night, never gets old).
So what now, 2 more episodes? Well, Time to F Snit Up!!!!!!!
The amount of travel on foot that takes place on this show is astounding.

I think they may have screwed things up so bad that no matter what they do they probably couldn't make a great episode. The material is just to scattered and silly to be able to redirect it into even just one awesome episode. Only two left?? Yeesh

I dropped cable 3 or 4 years ago and haven't seen Walking dead since. I decided to finally get off my *** and finish this show, especially given it's almost done. I binged on Netflix up to the most recent season and signed up for AMC+ for a month to get this over with.

It seems that AMC+ is a week ahead of broadcast. I just got done with the second to last episode - I'm a week ahead of y'all. I won't spoil it. Mostly, I'm happy to be down with this after tomorrow.

No interest in these spin-offs.

When's the last time we saw Michonne?? Has she been off the show like three full seasons??
What is Danai Gurira up to these days?
Really thought they'd end this WAY too long commonwealth storyline midway through the 2nd to last episode, and go to a time jump where Michone, Rick and the survivors are back together.. Instead we'll be stuck with at least half an episode of.. Will they survive the Horde??
Answer is...
OF course they will, they've already shown previews of the next 2 spinoffs of Negan, Ezekiel, Daryl, Maggie and Carol.

Ummmmmm, if all those characters are in a spinoff..,........is it really a spinoff??
different spinoffs.
:goodposting:
Daryl & Carol were supposed to join in one spinoff.. But due to Conflicting schedules, it sounds like just a Carol spinoff
Ezekiel and Negan were highlighted in a spinoff next year.
Then of course there were the long talked about, but never materialized, Rick movies.
Close...

Daryl and Carol spinoff is now just Daryl (in France). Melissa McBride apparently didn't want to shoot the series in Europe so she withdrew.
Negan and Maggie will be hitting NYC together in a spinoff
Rick movies have morphed into a 6-episode Rick and Michonne spinoff

No interest in actually watching any of them, or the finale of the main show, which is a testament to how badly Gimple mishandled this franchise.
