***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (3 Viewers)

I liked this episode quite a bit.

In the comic there were two twin brothers (age 5) who's parents died, they were adopted by Andrea and Dale (who had become intimate.) Soon after the survivors leave the prison one of the twins Ben begins to show signs of being a psycopath. One night Ben brutally murders his twin brother Billy and when discovered playfully admits that he did it and then in a few moments he will come back because he didn't hurt the brain. The group locks him in a van while they decide what to do with him and under the cover darkness that night Carl executes him. No one discovers who murdered Ben until Carl confesses to Rick and they have a heart to heart about all the bad things they've done.

Panel from the comic
I felt the girls and Carol executed the ordeal much better than how the comic handled it.

Ahhhhhh that's my girl, it's better to burn out than to fade away. We really need a smiley pouring out a 40 for Lizzie.

When the world went to hell she was the only one that was absolutely sure of what she was going.

Anybody else glad they got rid of more kid actors?

Great episode though.. ultimately. When I saw it was just focused on the one group, I got a little antsy- figured it was either going to suck or the Lizzie girl was going to go bat####. Didn't see the Carol moment coming at that point. That scene and the confession scene... pretty good stuff.

and yeah- the baby was strapped to David's back.

So I guess Sanctuary burned to the ground and the walkers are coming from there. We're being misdirected into thinking the fire is from the rat house. So big cliffhanger is Sanctuary doesn't exist, and then everyone decides to team up with the scientist and head to Washington.

:lmao: at there having to be any discussion over what to do with Lizzy. Carol should have capped her right there in the yard next to her sister.
Screw that. Bring her with and then toss her to a bunch of walkers and shout,

"They all just want to be your friend"

As they start eating Lizzie, they should ask,

"How are you and your friends working out?"

Walk away to Lizzie's blood curdling screams....

wow, that's stupid.

Credit where credit is due. After much suckage the last few episodes this one was kick ### heavy. Well done.

Carol has blown past Daryl as best character in the show. If she were alone with Beth drinking moonshine she definitely would have banged her several times by now.

What a difference it makes to have an episode centered around a kid when the kid can actually act. Note to the producers: Let's not have Carl do any more heavy lifting, K?

Bravo. Great episode.

Except for the maybe the billowing black smoke is a campfire part.
???

He was answering how it could have started. Lightning or a camp fire seem likely sources.
Certainly was not a campfire. That would be one mega campfire.

What's more likely..................it was from LIGHTNING..........or from the house we just watched Darryl and Beth burn down.

Lightning...........house we saw burned down..........lightning..........house we saw burned down..................................

I am not saying for 100% certainly it WAS that same house they burned down, but it certainly is the favorite.

And yeah, that girl needed to get capped a while ago. Good riddance.

What an intense episode. You wanted to see other cast members but without that they still managed to satisfy you. It was well done.

Last two episodes is what the show should be. Episodes have a narrative and all meet up together in the end. Much better then a season with everyone on the farm or in the jail.

Last two episodes were top 10.

Why would you black this out?

I know this is your schtick... but there were a lot of options there, which is what made the decision and the episode so good (abandon her in the house, in the woods, in a box, with a fox, wherever; take her back to her friend for a finger nibble; bring her along because.. hey- she's just a kid and doesn't know better).

Do you guys think Lizzie knew she was about to die?

She had no idea, she was more concerned about Carol being mad about pointing a gun at her.

I was actually glad when Lizzie was put down. I only wish they'd have realized to do it before she killed her sister. I think that's a sign of a pretty well written and immersive show.

Great episode……..massive WTF moment. Seriously disturbing and tragic moment.

Did not see that coming at all.

15min in i had the thought that part of the problem the show could also be having for me is too many kids.

Rick/Michonne with Carl

Daryl with Beth (she acts like a kid)

Tyrese and Carol with clowncar

The Bob/Maggie/Glen story was the only one without a kid.

Storylines with kids are hard to cover for a long period of time. It's hard to have them be a focal point of a episode let alone a big part of the season.

I'm ready for zombie baby!

Dude, we know that a house was burned down recently.

The column of smoke was about the size of a house.

The writers INTENDED for us to assume that the smoke is from the house Daryl burnt down. Will it ulimately be that? Probably. Because it will probably never be explained and for it to have been anything else, it would require explaination.

I think the only purpose of the smoke was the black smoke/white smoke discussions. It was to show that the little girl was intelligent and that she missed science class (which I think was to mean that she missed learning).

When Carol and Lizzie took their walk and the subject came up again, it was just to show more anguish with Carol and losing the little girl, who reminded her of Sophia.

if they really wanted to go all in they would have had Lizzie kill Judith as well- double the shock, and gets rid of the tedious baby storyline..

Great episode. When Lizzie said "I know now what I have to do", Carol didn't see the meaning... my wife immediately said Lizzie is going to kill either the baby or her sister because she wants to prove to Carol that a dead person that they know will not be mean like the other walkers, who were strangers.

Carol is a great character and is played by a very good actress.

:goodposting:

If the smoke came from anything other than the Daryl-Beth story, the writers messed up. (Note: Admittedly, "writer error" is a very real possibility in this show).

So is this going to be the Walking Dead formula from now on? Lots of boring episodes followed by a big OMG moment (Sophia coming out of the barn) to get everyone's attention again?

Rick never would shot Lizzie.. we'd have 3 episodes of him brooding, hemming and hawing, and calling to KKAAAAAAARRRLLL... Carol is the leader now..

Right after the scene when she was "playing" with the walker in the yard, I said to Mrs SB "Okay, I'm ready for Lizzie to die now". Glad they didn't drag that out another season.

Its actually getting formulaic at this point. Most episodes nowadays begin with a positive theme and a sense of hope. Then towards the end it all goes horribly wrong. Every episode feels like a self-contained horror story. What I wouldn't see coming is a story where someone makes a go of it living in a new space and actually makes it work long term.

Interesting ending in how Carol has to judge Lizzie for her crime of murder and shoots her in the head. Then Tyreese gets to do the same to Carol and lets Carol live. I'm not entirely sold that Carol is sane but she gets to stick around. I could see her causing huge problems later on.
