lemme guess... wade's group new motivation is to chase the gas truck. and then another big battle with another sanctuary/community getting blowed up -this time with RPGs!

Having only read up to the Gov. I'm only going off some tidbits I've read... guessing Wade is part of the next group of bada##'s they'll be facing next season...

all that was missing from the "walk it off" after cutting his arm off was "it's just a flesh wound" ;)

Quite an intense episode.. Abraham kind of losing it here :oldunsure:
But not losing it so much that he can't feel the 'Sasha wants my junk' vibe. Maybe we'll be getting a Sasha, Abe, Rosita menage going.

No idea how diabetic girl lasted that long being that stupid. Thought maybe her BS was low and she was delirious. It also made no sense as to why she passed out then got insulin. Weird.

RPGs, cigars, and a gas truck?? Here we go
The diabetic girl was really pathetic.

It was like the Honda (?) commercial.

"Let's get out of here in the running car."

"What? Are you crazy???"

"Let's hide behind those chain-saws..."

"OK"

At least with the red shirts they die an honest death. In this case she died a stupid death.

The one redeeming quality of that scene was her female friend leaning over her. I was turning my head to get a better view of her festive nortons.

Yea, I posted that when he found the military Zombie hanging around with the RPG on his back.. He went all out :loco: there for a minute or so..

At this point- it's pretty obvious that there's safety in numbers in the ZA- vs zombies and humans. so people riding off into the sunset when they've been saved by somebody who could've left them to rot... and who says he has a community... doesn't make any sense to me. but I guess I'll get to see what the writers have in store. expectations are pretty low.
Yep, that made zero sense.

 made perfect sense to me.. Teaming up with the guy that saved you

Following him to a "safe" community after what they went through with the last "safe" community.. no thanks :bye:

fair enough- good point. and the guy did talk to that point during the episode.

I guess I'm talking more abstractly- because, really- what is that guy's plan now? easy-rider their way around until... ? even crazy rick realized they needed alexandria. just about finding the right group... and hoping rick's group doesn't come a calling and wreck everything.

darryl will make them pay.

I thought the Morgan episode was great. These last two have been slow going.

I did like how once again Rick was proven right. This time by telling Daryl they don't need to be recruiting anymore. Daryl thinks they should and it bites him in the ###.

I get the sense they're setting things up for a big payoff to come. I don't have a problem with that and when we look back at this season as a whole these last two episodes may work better within that context. But as far as individual episodes themselves neither did anything for me. I did a lot of clock watching last night which I hardly ever do on this show.
I expect this episode to tie in nicely down the road.

How do you think RPG guy got impaled on that fence post and ended up hanging over a ledge?

I don't think other people did it (nobody looted him), and wouldn't think he did it to himself?

driving his humvee, and it flipped... righting itself along the way- but threw him out in midair so that he got impaled on the fence post.

pretty freaking obvious. stop being so lazy when you're watching.

Minor nitpicks about the episode/show in general. Darryl dude its the apocalypse, get a hair cut or just shave your head totally.

And enough with the cross bow.

 It's so obvious now that you point it out.

Effing lazy writers threw me off with the launcher still being on his shoulder. I wouldn't expect a humvee driver to be wearing that.

Especially since it is a RPG7 a Russian launcher.

Lazy writing not using an American RPG.

It's been well established that Lori opened up a side business as a beautician in addition to her lawn-cutting job.

Lazy viewing to have missed that.

Sooooo

There was a fuel company with a half a dozen propane tanks and a full on Mad Max fuel tanker sitting there guarded by a half a dozen walkers. Well, a million bucks says Daryll has complete memory loss and they never go there again.

Also, so Abraham is going up to the car where the guys where shooting automatic weapons at them and Sasha is like "Don't go over there and finish them off and take their guns, that would be crazy" , let's go loot an insurance agents office instead.

I'm glad Daryls stupid homemade motorcycle is gone. That was one of the dumbest things in the show. You are able to find enough working cars to make a 5 mile long corridor for a zombie march but can't find 1 single motorcycle so you have to build one. Stupid.

Anyone catch the opening credits?

They show Rick's revolver with the name Andrew Lincoln. They show Daryl's jacket with the name Norman Reedus. They show Carol's knife with the name Melissa McBride. When they show Glenn's watch, the name Steven Yeun wasn't there. :oldunsure:

He hasn't been in the credits since the episode after he (allegedly) died.

The people are some of the worst scavengers ever seen. Never see them grab anything from the dead, also rarely see zombie still wearing his gun or knife. Makes no sense, but would bog show if they did it

I might have to watch this episode again because I found the whole gas truck situation a bit baffling. While they were walking in the woods, I think the guy was saying they'd hid something (presumably the truck) immediately after leaving pavement. Then they were disappointed by something about seeing the parking lot (the truck they'd hid not being there?), and they discussed needing to employ a get out of dodge plan B? Really finding it difficult to connect those dots... or whether there is really any point in using the effort needed to figure anything out at this point.

Was just a weird episode. Not much made sense. They need to make a big splash in the next two episodes for me to keep my interest up. This season has been down a bit (aside from the first couple eps).

I think they're setting things up for something big to happen. But the set-up process has been overly deliberate. I don't need slam-bang wall-to-wall action every episode but it feels like the last two episodes were more about set-up than payoff. If the payoff is worth it that'll be fine. With two threats outside the walls (Walkers and the new group), walkers at the walls and Glenn's fate possibly uncertain there's definitely a lot that could be coming down the pike.

very weird. and lots of questionable stuff. 3 car loads of guys with guns just sneak up into tailgating range and begin firing? all these different groups are out scavenging, and nobody has come across a basically unattended vehicle and a case of RPGs, yet Abe can spot it from a distant building? Haircut 100 forgets all the zombie rules and voluntarily gets herself within biting range? injured Daryl grabs the duffel bag with lifesaving insulin and runs off into the woods, but the healthy guy WITH THE GUN doesn't even bother to give chase?

Yeah... the RPG thing annoyed me. Plus, I still struggle with believing that people would just turn on each other so quickly. The two people ripping off Darryl made no sense after Darryl proved to be a good friend/ally. I think even a bad person would see the value in keeping Darryl around.

I want to know what this show has against hot girls. The diabetic chick was hot and now she is dead. The one cute chick a few episodes ago got eaten and yet we are still stuck with Leatherface Deanna

Set-ups are totally necessary and are enjoyable to watch when there is good dialog. See Fargo as an example of that. Every episode is essentially a setup where not a ton actually happens yet the viewer is never bored. With the Walking Dead the writing isn't just very interesting* and it is a show carried by the acting.

*Save for seasons 1-2 and the Morgan episode - which I thought were all very well written.

HOW DOES DARRYL STILL HAVE ARROWS??!!!!!????!!!!!

ETA: Also, why do we keep adding an additional "r" to Daryl's name??

I enjoy the show a lot more than you do and other than Season 3 I think the show has done a good and often exceptional job of providing proper payoffs to the setups it creates. You don't and that's fine. Different strokes and all that.

I'm good with the payoffs. They're why I watch the show. I like the fact that we know there's lurking danger and no end in sight with little to no help for actual sanctuary. What I don't enjoy as much is the setup - i.e. the dialog and non-violent buildups.

I think the set-ups are often terrific as well. I thought Season 3 (minus the ludicrous Andrea stuff) set up things for what should've been an epic finale but it wasn't. I thought the set-ups for Season 4 and 5 were great as were the payoffs. Prior to the last two episodes I thought this season was doing a great job again of laying the groundwork for what was to come. But in my opinion the last two episodes have lagged although as I said before it's possible that when we see the entire season these episodes may look stronger in context.

I think we can blame Darryl Strawberry for that.
