***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (8 Viewers)

The comic book nerds are going to be so upset when Negan is written just as badly as every other character. "yeah, the show sucks but wait until [next terrible plot/character gets introduced]"
Except many of us don't characterize it as "the show sucks" part, I only said that for those who are frustrated with the show but want to know if there is reason to keep watching. If someone thinks the show sucks they should stop watching (or at least stop trolling this thread)

Terrible mid-season finale. Where is the big cliffhanger that's going to keep me thinking about it through the break? What a bore

Things I liked from tonight's episode:

Carl's storyline with Ron

Deanna dying (her arc was up, and it was a fitting death)

The wall coming down, flooding the town with zombies,

Things I could take or leave

Wolf story

Didn't care about

Maggie/Glenn story
All terrible. This show sucks

I watch it to see how bad it can get. It doesn't cease to disappoint. It's also funny how the comic book fanboys hold on, and just keep hoping for the next comic book twist or character to save it. Guess what? Megan will suck, too.

What the #### was that?

You porchdicks all made fun of me when I was worried when Kirkman said he was going to work in homosexual love stories and ramp up everyone elses relationships.

I hope you are happy now that you know that Michonne is going on a soul search to find what makes her happy, Tara has the hots for Rosita who is recently single. Oh and Tara will be single in a minute. The struggle between the most awesome Carol and the ridiculous monk. The teenage boys work out their problems bro style. and become steadfast friends.

I said I wanted A Team action and was told that was immature,

Enjoy your mature dialogue driven boring ### #### show while you explore your feelings and contemplate the duality of man.

I swear to god this is the Stripper of TV shows, it looks great you sit there for hours and then ####### nothing but empty pockets and a wet spot.

I can't even complain about one specific issue. It was a "start to finish" cluster ####.

Ok I guess I can single out the worst part of it. Ok you you live in a community that has power and the kids play video games......what ### #### 10 year old has a 1960s record player and rocks out to 40's big band music, how does he even have that ####, if he had it why would he listen to it, you have a working playstation put in damn cd, are you ####ting me.
I wish I could bottle up the entertainment value I get reading posts like this from people who hate the show yet watch it religiously. I would get soooooooooo drunk off that bottle.

They only watch the show to troll the thread. It's an amazing ball of hilarity.

Me personally? I would just find something better to do than watch a show I hate just so I can try and sound funny in a thread full of people I have never met. But hey, that's just me. I'm a rebel.

Oh, and as a big fan of the show, yes this WAS a pretty terrible episode.

I will list the things I didn't like, partially cause I am bored at work, and also I wanna live the life of a hater for a few minutes:

1- When the tower fell, why on Earth was it so hard for people to get somewhere? It's like they ran around in circles trying to die. Or did walkers somehow get in from behind everyone from another hole?

2- Little Sam needs to die. Someone please kill him. And Ron. Eat them please. I want to be a guest zombie just so I can go bite them and end it.

3- I have a knife and am holding a worthless chubbykins. I want your guns. Ok thanks. Now that I have your guns and I am a homicidal maniac who has killed 100s of people, I am going to let you all live and take a hostage because walkers respond to hostages.

4- Deanna is the worst character ever, but at least she went out with a bang and a super ugly silent scream face.

Show is great. This episode sucked badly by comparison.

That's enough complaints. I can only sound like a loser for so long.

Why in the hell were they not walking around strapped anyways and why were all the weapons in one place? Seems criminally stupid.

The whole "hey I remember this one time I covered myself in blood and walked through them" was sloppy and pathetic writing.

Also there are thousands of walkers in the town, but I must kill the Wolf that is tied up downstairs come hell or high water. UGgghhhhh

Also no comments on the wolf with the knife vs the 2 guns and they just throw the guns down? Holy crap that was a bad 80's action movie scene.

I got the best of both worlds!

Save my hour by not watching the show and come in here and get entertained by everyone loving and hating each episode.

Lots of room under this dumpster if anyone wants to join me!?!?!?

Once again, if you don't like it, don't watch. No reason to come in here and bag on it.

I enjoyed the entire half-season, including the finale. It's still a really good show, those complaining about it really just want it to be something it isn't.
And the really good parts of this episode are......? The fan submitted clips on talking dead don't count.
 I enjoyed it.. Then again I don't watch it to nitpick every little thing.. it is 60 minutes of "fun T.V." for me..

My only "Nitpicking" would be..

Thought they tried to cram too many story lines into a 60 minute episode.. THIS is where a 90 minute episode should be used....

People complaining that NOW they remember to put Zombie crap on them to escape.. Can you imagine this thread if every single time they left a safe place they slimmed up?? There would be a hundred  posts..

Sounds like it isn't fun to watch for some of you, in which case.. time to move onto other things.. It's not like it is the only thing to do..

My favorite part is when they left bitten leather face alone with Judith, then Rick realized he couldn't leave her alone unsupervised......wait what was that, I'll be right back and leaves her again. Lol.
While I thought it was a bad episode, you may want to get better at watching. Rick clearly goes left (door to right), bends down and gets Judith and then closes the door on the way out when Michonne yells to him. I don't mind complaints about the crappiness of this episode, but I still hate the lazy watching complaints. Enough to complain about, like that whole damn wolf scene, so bad on so many levels.

Am I wrong in not understanding the Wolf's jail? He is clearly only tied up at the hands. Carol walked right down into that room as did Morgan. What was the point of locking the door to the basement when it sure seems like the Wolf could walk right up the stairs and leave the house at any time (Morgan and Carol didn't unlock the front door going in). Again, such an awful scene and setup. How was it connected to the garage that the others were in? Just lucky that they went in or did Morgan want to make sure the Wolf had a quick exit if he found the garage door and broke through it. I understand Morgan's teacher's cell as that was steel bar enclosed, but Morgan's jail cell seemed more like house arrest with an ankle bracelet and the honor system.
Now this I agree with.. Hated the Morgan turn to "everyone can be saved" and hated all scenes in the "jail".. Just horrid decision writing on the writers to force the "Morgan realizes that not everyone is worth saving.."

I guess I can only speak for myself, but there was a point where this show was really good. There's also still glimpses of that "goodness" that keeps me around - like the Morgan episode and the initial horde episode. So, we watch. And then when we're let down by some just genuinely bad episodes like the last two and silly factual goofs (insulin, van landing right side up, the flare shot, Glenn not dying, etc.).
I guess that is where having read the comics gives me a different perspective, and a little minor foreshadowing of where the show is going.

I'm here for the story, sometimes that is zombies, sometimes it's the people. I'm also very willing to overlook silly "tv-isms", like the things you mention at the end. Some are silly, like the van flip, done aren't as bad as portrayed if you watch close enough. But regardless of those things, I am still enjoying the story, and I'll watch until that isn't the case.
:hifive:

Terrible mid-season finale. Where is the big cliffhanger that's going to keep me thinking about it through the break? What a bore
The kid still being an idiot and yelling "MOM?!?!?!?" Which will draw attention from the walkers..

Maggie stuck on a platform with Glen and Enid watching helplessly from a tree..

The Wolf taking the Doctor to where?? Are the wolves possibly part of Negan's group.. or a off shoot of them and he will no return with information for Negan??

Where is Abraham and Daryl??

Sure, not HUGE cliff hangers.. but seems like plenty to think/talk about.

I enjoyed the season, but this was my least enjoyed episode. The wolf parts made me cringe because it just keeps going back to the neutering of one of the best characters on the show. Morgan and Carol should have been a marriage made in heaven. Here's to February and the show being better than last night.

Sam needs to die, but unfortunately, we will likely lose his hottie mom instead. I know it will never happen, but it would be so awesome to see Ron and his mom let go of Sam and keep walking.

I hate Morgan. I wish Carol would have shot him.
Morgan is some aikido stud and Carol is able to fight with him?

Carol should die

Morgan should die

That fat white mullet-haired man should die

Little Sam should be eaten and pulled into about twenty pieces. I wish Rick would just shoot the kid so they can escape

You forgot about dumb Ron.. Daddy dies because he was a crappy human being.. get over it or die

There comes a point where the writing and acting are so bad that you can't simply watch it for a 'fun TV show.'

Last night was that night for me. Just. #######. Terrible. I mean honestly if you think last night was legitimately a good episode of television I don't know what you would call 'bad television.'

Pretty disappointing way to end the first half of the season. At about 9:45 last night, I was for sure it was a 90 minute episode, then checked the guide and saw it was only 60 minutes. The first part of the season really went downhill after the 1st 2 episodes. Seemed like were in store for a really intense season. Just feels like a let down.

Argggh, this show is at the point now they need negan. The whole Alexandria thing I could have skipped except Rick killing porchdick and the Morgan story.
Agreed, if that is our leaving Alexandria (don't read comics), that was a whole lot of not much. We could use some darkness. We literally only lost a couple of redshirts and Papa Georgio so far even with a horde of thousands.
Well we lost Deanna, but still there was a lot of nothing happening the last few episodes. I still feel annoyed that we didn't learn much about the wolves and now there's apparently a new group coming (Neegan's).
Why bother watching any longer? How can they survive without her meticulous planning. Who else would dedicate five full minutes of their time and make a detailed diagram of Alexandria in crayon the way she could?

was there a scene after they were wading through the zombies pre-credits? I saw the sneak peak scene on TD with Daryl/Abe and Negan's group; was that it? or did I miss another scene in my commerical-skipping?

3. That was pretty damn stupid. The only thing I could think of (regarding him not killing everyone) was that he didn't want to call attention to himself by firing the gun and/or he wanted to save the bullets in case he needed them to get away from the walkers.

4. No argument there. The whole touchy-feely thing with Michonne was difficult to watch (it being so contrived and poorly acted).

I want them all to die...except Eugene. Eugene all alone trying to escape/survive zombies could be good comedy.

Grabs her and then does what exactly? You must have missed the barricade from the outside to the downstairs in your lazy watching.
What are you talking about? Deanna was upstairs and Rick went downstairs. Guess what, he likely dropped Judith in the room next door. You do realize there are other rooms and heck, a hallway upstairs, right? They dragged the two zombies upstairs and Coral put Judith under his blanket upstairs. I have no idea what you are trying to say because you are trying to prove a point and you are wrong again. Please tell me how Rick couldn't have easily dropped Judith off before going downstairs to help Michonne.

Also, are you just trying to deflect from your original comment that Rick didn't grab her and close Deanna's door? I watched it again and that was 100% clear and what you said that he left Judith with her again was 100% incorrect. Again, lazy watching.
I said, "Rick realized he couldn't leave her alone unsupervised.". The exact quote from Rick's mouth, "From now on, someone needs to be with you.". He then left both of them upstairs, alone. :lmao:

Not sure what your angle of putting her in a separate room accomplishes, since Deanna got up and went into Judith's room in the first place.

That's my feeling too. This has to be the first mid-season finale where nothing of substance actually happened. This felt more like a set-up for the mid-season finale. Here's hoping the second half of the season is much better or else this will go down as the weakest season to date in my opinion.

Well, if Morgan is trying to recreate the whole setup that "saved" him, that cell wasn't locked either. The only prison is in your mind, man....
True, the wolf couldn't have had easier access based on what we saw (the garage door that mullet picked locked on the wolf's side). Now, was the cell unlocked for Morgan only? I doubt Morgan's guru left it unlocked for the guy that killed his wife and kid when he grabbed him and at first planned to kill him.
The next time you are watching it look past Carroll when she's sitting at the top of the stairs and Morgan is asking her if she is ok. You'll see how the door at the bottom of the stairs is barricaded. Looks like this. There is another door that leads directly outside from the basement, that is the one the wolf unlocks as he is leaving.

In the Morgan episode it was pretty clear that the cell was locked for the killer, then after he starved to death Eastman found his religion and tossed the key away.

I'm calling it right here, mark this post down:

If Negan doesn't bash either Glenn's or Maggie's head in with a baseball bat at the end of this season the writers have no balls.

The new shtick of telling all the complainers they should stop watching the show and then proceeding to list out an outline of your own complaints is awesome.

was there a scene after they were wading through the zombies pre-credits? I saw the sneak peak scene on TD with Daryl/Abe and Negan's group; was that it? or did I miss another scene in my commerical-skipping?
That was it. It originally aired during the first episode of Badlands. Because AMC really wants people to watch that show.

The generic network drama dialogue is bad enough but doing it in such a casual way while your world is collapsing right outside your door is hard to take.

"I didn't think you were a good man because...you can grow a great beard" lmao.

the whole thing has jumped the shark. it is terrible now.

sorry in advance for expressing my opinion in a thread about the show.

I feel the same way about what's supposed to happen to Carl's character... they've been foreshadowing it for an ep or two and then nothing... very disappointed.
