***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (7 Viewers)

I'm going with "Boots" being one of the females from the all female compound..  It looked like whoever it was, was wearing men's boots that

were way too big on them..

Uneven first half of season 7. But overall I am cool. Looking forward to the second half and the carnage about to take place. The consistent appeal of this show is the characters. I love Daryl, Rick, and Michonne. If they were not on I would be meh already.

The back drop is the zombie apocalypse. The sheer amount of survival from ourselves is really what this is all about. The zombie lake was cool yesterday. And Negan has been awesome. He was a much needed heal after the Governor went down.
The overall first half of the season was not good. Definitely the weakest season to date so far as I said. But I'm glad the group is back together and Rick has his game face back on again and appears focused again. It's what I wanted to happen and I'm glad to see it. Hoping for a much stronger second half of the season which could happen with a much simpler and cohesive storyline in place that focuses on one primary agenda - the war on Negan.

Also very interested to see who Mr. Boots is.

at the end, anybody else waiting for some or all of them to jump into the air and have the camera freeze on that.. breaking into goofy 80s sitcom music?

as far as the half-season, this was up there for me. kept moving, got to follow along with everybody in the cast... little bit of everything, plus boots. that said- this season has been pretty bad, so "up there" means its right around the dwight episode (which I liked fine, but not great). everything else this season was meh for me.

I think I've stopped caring what happens to any of them- could be that the show has run its course for me, could be that this season was so badly crafted that I lost interest (on top of previous seasons)... whatever. I know that when aaron went into the drink- and I like aaron as a character- I didn't even bat an eye whether he was dead or not. same with rosita. I lost any sense of tension about whether or who they would kill there.

negan with the lean-back continues to not help the situation.

boots. I don't think it's the guy from the kingdom. I'm going to guess it's either somebody completely new, or completely old- terminus, wolves, anybody left from the guvnah? or one of gang's old group?
I bet it's the Latino family from Season One.

The whole michonne thing is either bad writing or bad editing.  How did she know the girl was with Negan, what was the point of asking why she was by herself.  What did the girl mean by hiding the car and the bit with the silencer was a bit odd as well.  DId the girl just want Michonne to kill her?
Who else would she be with??  Not too many people driving around these days.  I don't think she 100% KNEW the girl was with Negan, but it was a fairly educated guess I would say.

Also, it sounds like that chicky wants Negan dead also.  As for lady driver, does she look familiar to anyone?  Have we seen her in the show anywhere yet up to this point?

On a side note, some people have mentioned that it seems like all of Negan's people hate him, so why don't they rise up against him?  Well, when he was there with Carl and they all took a knee, those appeared to be people who basically "gave in" and were earning their way.  It certainly does not seem like the rest of Negan's crew fits that description, especially considering they all have guns and Negan actually shows them respect (other than burn face of course).

Lady realized she would rather die then be a savior. Basically gave Michonne permission to kill her, even told her to ditch the car so there would be no trace.

Touched on that in my last post, but sounds like she wants Negan dead also.  Negan isn't exactly a favorite among the women.  Seems like they are all basically slaves.
Did Michonne kill her?  We heard the shot and then the car drive away after her saying to burn in and put in a lake?  Just an odd sequence and they never really gave us a good shot at Negans compound

Looked very similar to Paula, the female leader from last season who kidnapped Carol and Maggie in the woods outside the satellite station.  Took them back to their warehouse area, and Carol ended up killing her.

I do not remember hearing any sort of shot. But if there was then yeah, my guess is Michonne took her out.

I also liked how Michonne just offed her. Cold-blooded and it shows where she's at now. She's always been a vicious warrior type of character but that still was a pretty ruthless move and she still went through with it.

Are you asking WHO gave him the key?  I was under the impression Jesus did.
It wasnt Jesus.  When they were running out D says something like "I have the key"

That would be a bit unrealistic if Jesus could just sneak around and find the key and somehow get into the jail and know where D was

I really enjoyed the episode and am finally fired up about the show again but seems like everybody here hated it so might be time to check out of this thread for the remainder of the season if everybody's just gonna #### on the show. Bummer. Didn't think the episode was sensational and the season is still easily the weakest to date but did think it got things back on track and I am finally invested again mainly because I want the group together and focused on confronting Negan. And I've grown tired of all the tangent storylines and it would appear all of that is going to come to an end now.
Say what?  I'm seeing a lot of "Hate" for this episode in particular, just a lot of "Hate" for the drag out way they presented the first half..

   Maybe so the shot didn't attract walkers??  Or if they were close enough, Saviors...
why would she care?  I am just saying that whole angle was just edited terribly.  They make a point to say she was all alone and then she is just quiet the whole time.  Feels like we missed a scene somewhere.  Michonne thought that she could just walk into the compound with one gun and a sword and take him out?

Sorry, I shouldn't have included that in my post to begin with. People can say what they want. I haven't been a fan of this season and have been clear about that. I shouldn't lash out at anyone for feeling however they want to feel. I just finally liked an episode again and was hoping more people liked it as much as I did. No worries, though. I know this season hasn't been up to par. Not even close. So I understand people aren't gonna be happy about it.

I was guessing it was Dwight's SIL... didn't she run off?

I liked it compared the previous month or so.. But then again the previous month set the bar about as low as you can.

I think most that are still watching are in the same boat.. This episode and the last one are back to the way the story should be done..
They can breakup the story lines if they need to, but having them being separate episodes drove some mad.. AKA - you and the Dwight episode ;)

So Jesus didn't let him out??  Then who did, and how did Jesus know he would be coming out that way at that time?
if it was Jesus, why not just open the door? would make zero sense to write a note, slip it in with the key. if his plan was to just rescue darryl- open up the door and giddyup.

has to be dwight or his wife/ex-wife.

Yea, I also see it as Dwight or his Ex.. Jesus was there scouting out the area for Maggie, heard the commotion and came around the corner just as Daryl was :deadhorse:

God I hope they kill that guy off soon. :)

Yeah I think the biggest plusses for the last two episodes was story construction. But I think with the group back together they won't need to worry about that so much in the back half of the season. So my guess/hope is there won't be as many issues with pacing and tangent type storytelling as we saw in the first half of the season. Again, I can appreciate the attempt Gimple made but it clearly didn't work and it clearly wasn't a success. So now that the group has been reunited and I'm assuming there will be one primary storyline (war on Negan) I'm hoping the show can regain it's focus and we'll see a much stronger show and a much stronger second half of the season than we saw in the first half.

I think with Rick back to being Rick again and Daryl back a lot of the first half of the season problems can be solved in many ways. Just having the group back together can cure a lot of the ills the season has had in my opinion. It can strengthen the storylines because the characters work well off one another. I also think bringing a character like Ezekiel into the mix (a HUGE waste not having him at all since the second episode) could be a huge plus for the season.

Wouldnt you think that the next season will be pretty straight forward as far as teh war goes?  Once Negan realizes that Darryl got out he is going to try and hunt him down at Alexandria and then once Rick and his crew hit back (with Hilltop, kingdom, etc) then negan is going to unleash at once.  Just the way I see it.  I think the set up early is getting the other camps on board with the war coming in the last few episdodes

No idea how this will all unfold other than Rick will be leading a plan to bring Alexandria, Hilltop and the Kingdom together to take on Negan. How long all this takes place or when the actual war against Negan beings/ends I don't know. But yeah I would assume the first episode back Negan will figure out Daryl's gone, Fat Joey's gotten his face bashed in and he's gonna head back to Alexandria pretty PO'd.

I think the show misses Glenn.  He was probably the most relate-able characters and easier to root for than Rick.

Pretty typical TWD half season for me...some really good episodes....tension...mixed in with a few completely inexplicable lapses in logic.

Were there any hot chicks in that compound? This show really could use some girl-on-girl action.

Might help regain some of the ratings lost.

Just tryin to help you out, AMC.
I thought Cindy was in the top tier for women on the Walking Dead.  I assume she will become a more major character since she was the character with the most screen time for that community.

I was wondering how old the actress was who played her. Turns out Sydney Park is 19 so we should be OK there. No clue how old Cindy is supposed to be, though.
