side thought I had about sanctuary last night... only one way in and out I guess. they keep showing the same stairs, landing and doors with all the zombies bunching there. but it's what seems to be a giant building/factory... can't they just go out a back, side or any other door, get a couple cars and rick roll them out of there with some rick astley blasting on the speakers?

The episode where they directed the horde into the Sanctuary compound showed the horde surrounding the entire building. They just choose to show us the Front doors for whatever reason now, rather then the entire compound.

But as far as the why the writers have written it, Rick not only wants the numbers, but it will also help them keep an eye on a group that already back stabbed them once.

to be fair- one or two of these last episodes, maybe even last night, ricks group and negans group both brought up that negan was trapped by both zombies and sharp-shooters around sanctuary. add that to the "plan" so far having been taking out all the satellite groups outside of sanctuary and it makes sense that rick would want to turn or wipe out the garbage kids.

for the latter, probably better to just try to go live with them for a week or two... so far every place he does that with ends up wiped out PDQ.

Well, as Rick put it, she only Grazed him with a bullet, whereas she could have shot him if indeed that was her intention.
So in his mind, or in this case the way the writers want him to think, she is hesitant to follow Negan to a "t" and therefore he thinks he can win them back.
But I agree with many in here.. the sooner they take them out the better.
Unfortunately, the way these writer seem to like the GPK's, the leader will probably become Rick and Michonnne's lover.

Don't know if any of you caught it, but I rewound and saw that the flame throwing guitar hood ornament guy from fury road was in the front of opera-mobile.

I forgot how goofy the garbage pail kids are, and yet I found monosyllabic leader chick super hot in the overall things with nothing under.

I liked the siddiq? character. Fingers crossed they don't turn him into something goofy too.

Speaking of... what happened to Morgan again?

Was thinking the same thing about the GPK leader.  For some reason I find her hot too.  Loved her little smile and then "no".  Did they ever explain how the GPKs can lose most of their ability to speak in a 4-5 year (?) period?  Is there some form of magnetic attraction of idiots that drew them together?

Some good points in this (low action) episode:

• Maggie saying they are keeping the prisoners as potential bargaining chips (but otherwise can't let them live);
  
• Siddiq.  Guy loved his Mom.  Who can't root for such a character.  They needed to make Siddiq look more malnourished IMO. Carl also needs to bring a bigger pik-a-nik basket.
  
• More Rosita (yummy)
  
• Singing Saviors talking about getting in the good graces of Negan by drawing away the walkers (its a darn good thing Darryl just happened to show up with a truck in the middle of nowhere to t-bone that Savior).  Was wondering what's in Darryl's mind regarding ending it?  Driving that truck into the Savior sanctuary to let in the walkers?

I'm also a bit perplexed about Rick going in there.  Pretty poor gamble IMO as it opens the door for the GPKs to look to help Negan and his crew out of their predicament.  The GPKs likely had no idea about what was going on outside their enclave and now they know Negan is canned up.

Overall, I kind of liked the episode.

Never in the show itself... But I did read something last year where they basically said as Groups grow together some come up with their own "code" or speaking ways. Thus the leader started speaking in the "Yoda/Choppy" method and, taught others she did , so as to  keep track of members of the group.

rick went into the garbage dump on purpose.   obviously its part of the plan.  Not sure why?   Maybe the helicopter is part of the plan, and that would allow them to fly over the garbage dump and pick off all of them.

huh... this made me think that since negan wants him alive, maybe it's a plan to draw the GPKs out into the open with rick in tow as they head to sanctuary. that also seems stupid, but at this point whatever.

anybody notice coral's voice change? sounded like barry white this episode. was waiting for him to croon sidiq's panties off during the meaningless zombie fight. also- first time I actually thought the kid actor was doing a decent job with the lines and role. maybe he's growing into the profession finally.

Whatever happened to the seaside group Rick and them stole all the weapons from? I bet they make an appearance in the war, tipping the scales against Negan.

I thought TWD was now much later than fear...  I guess it would take a long time to get to Mex/Cal from VA, what with all the bad gas. Are they going to make a spinoff like Kung-Fu where Morgan wanders the land spinning yarns and his stick?

Both shows started with the outbreak.   TWD started this season somewhere between day 610 and day 624.  On FTWD they blew up the dam on day 64.  

I don't see how Morgan or anyone crosses over in real time between the two shows any time soon as FTWD has some catching up to do.  I just assumed it was going to be a character from TWD showing some events prior to meeting up with Rick's crew.   But, I wouldn't count on the writers not screwing it up.

The big plan of Rick is to break apart the Saviors and get their supporters to bail out, which includes the GPK. They are trying to avoid killing anyone that is not a soldier by choice, keeping victims of Negan alive.  Now as we just saw, not all of his victims feel like that, they have traded their work for security (as Eugene has) and I doubt that his plan will succeed because of it.

I disagree as it has been released to the public at this point. Ftwd is a solid year or two behind TWD, so having someone be on both would be ok with timelines, just incredibly unlikely. Not as unlikely as the entire cgi tiger, but still unlikely.

I mentioned it before but will again.. heroes.. I was All in the first season, mostly in the 2nd season.. But half way through the 3rd I realized I was wasting my time and stopped.

That show REALLY slid downhill fast.  TWD is kind of like a slow burn.

Another Meh episode for me.  I found it to be pretty boring.  There were a few interesting things but nothing special.  This whole season has just been something for me to watch on my lunch hour instead of a must see show.

Right.  Getting from Virginia to Mexico (or vice versa) during a zombie apocalypse is going to take a lot of explaining or leaps in logic for a character whose backstory is pretty full.

I liked the call back to the old days with the five questions (three questions!) to test potential new members of the group.  But then they had to do one of those fake-suspense, "after all this time we're not very good at fighting a few zombies" scenes that took away most of my good feelings.

Had he not been at the very beginning, he could've pulled it off, but him being there at the beginning and then later on crazy and then later on training to be monk and then later on saving Rick, there's just no way. Mind you I bailed with the poor man's Johnny Depp was shacked up with the chick in that town in Mexico that had the bus as a gate. So I have no idea what has happened since.

true. it's part of the problem with where the show has gotten- the zombies are like keystone cops at this point. nobody of value will die from them now- too stupid a death, given how easily they can be killed or navigated. that said- it did take some time to get there... and is part of my problem with FTWD, where I was already in the headspace of knowing how goofy the zombies are but had to retread the fear the characters are supposed to have of them.

They moved and reunited with the entire family (minus Travis who died) to a ranch north of the boarder.  They destroyed that place so they went down and found Ofelia's dad (just in time for Ofelia to die) still alive holed up at a dam that was controlling the water to the entire area.  Then they blew the dam up.

Huh?  They aren't merging the shows, Morgan is just going over for a visit.

And I'll counter, who cares one way or the other? He could vacation there and come back refreshed or he could bring the whole production crew back with him along with the actors and I wouldn't give a rats ### about it. I know, it's me and my opinion, just saying this divergence from the main story line doesn't interest me one way or 'tother. Neither does Morgan quite frankly, his on again/off again involvement is old to me.

Not sure why they wouldn't blow up the front doors of the sanctuary and let the horde of walkers into the building to eat the saviors.
