Funny looking around that winners table and seeing Hosea.
I was snickering as they recounted all the past winners' accomplishments wondering what they were going to do for him. Way to go with the catering business and food truck, Josea!

I only caught the last half or so of this season hulu, but I'm big time in love with Kristen. Hot on so many levels.

Living in LA, I'm lucky to have access to so many restaurants that are featured on this show. I'll probably never visit Craft but I frequent Alibi Room and like Brooke's The Tripel well enough. I'll probably hit up A-Frame (which I've been lazy about trying) this weekend.

Watching "Watch What Happened Live" and Padma is on. They're spinning a wheel that has various "negative" husband traits listed on it and asking whether the trait would be a dealbreaker for Padma.

The wheel hits "Demands BJs everyday." Padma casually arches an eyebrow and says, "definitely not a deal breaker."

Think about that for a second.

Strangely, I happened to be in new orleans when they were filming the next season. This thing shows no sign of shutting down anytime soon.

We went to The Gorbals, S2 winner Ilan Hall's place in Downtown LA. I was familiar with the quirky Jewish-Scottish menu and location hidden off the lobby of an old residential hotel, so my expectations were for something outside of the ordinary. But what we got was one of the most disappointing meals I can remember. Everything was overcooked, overseasoned or both. The banh mi poutine was probably the most successful dish on the whole but it was still overpoweringly salty. Perfectly cooked beef tongue is one of my favorite dishes; Hall's version was burnt on the outside and dry on the inside. Both of the vegetable dishes we ordered were borderline inedible. I've been going to punk rock dives for 30 years and ####ed in some funky bathrooms but the one at The Gorbals was really appalling. At least the drinks were strong.

probably just looking for a change of pace from the old rich guys she's usually with

I was actually in New Orleans when they were filming this and randomly bumped into the crew and Padma + Michelle Bernstien (again, sigh). It was so ####### hot while they were shooting this.

This year should test the limits of the ratings before they call the whole thing off.

I wish they had not diluted the brand with things like Top Chef Masters and Desserts (neither of which I personally watch)

I usually give Masters a shot, then stop paying attention as the season goes on. I found myself entertained by it this last season and watched the whole thing.

Masters was very good. Was hoping Voltaggio would win this one but just like reg Top Chef he just came up short. He's incredibly talented though.

Masters is good to take in chunks after the season is over. If the challenge is too stupid just kill the episode and go on to the next one. Skip all Judges Tables and most of the quickfires. Can digest the whole season in 2 hours and miss nothing. They do have 2-3 quality events in each season.

I was rooting for Voltaggio too not only because he is local but he is a fantastic chef. I have had the pleasure of visiting Volt on several occasions including the 21-course chef's table and I love his take on food.

this was the best season of Top Chef Masters by far.

I have a cooking crush and the upmost respect for Chris Cosentino so last season was great that he pulled out the win. I traveled to SF last month and had the pleasure to dine at Incanto. Simply fantastic. The special of the night was his winning "my heart on the plate" dish and it was delicious. I was glad to have the opportunity to eat it.

The prolem with Masters is that Stone comes up short compared to Colicchio. Although I prefer Gail & Oseland to Padma

Not jealous. No offal for me.

he has a lot of non-offal dishes on his menu too. the special appetizer of the night was pork chicharrons with a tomato eggplant dip. The person I was traveling with had smoked beef and scallops. and for dessert, I had a poached pear, blue cheese ice cream, with hazelnuts. delicious.

No comments on the first show.So they drop the entry episode and go with a (shocking) catering challenge small plate to start.

Without doing any research at all it seems they really brought in some ringers this season. Some EC and HC from some very well known places. The girl that was in tears last night is actually quite well known/respected. I think just from visual memory we have 2, maybe 3 that were on chopped before? Then we have the retread from the kick out on E1 last time.

Seems like a small group overall. Maybe less episodes to cut down on costs. Ratings continue to fall for this show. I wouldn't have even known it was on had someone not bumped this thread.

Back watching after skipping a few seasons. Whoever said they watered things down with Deserts and Masters is right on, I was burnt out.

Was unimpressed with the first episode, pretty meh. Not unusual though, it doesn't get really good until they trim the fat a little.

Padma starting to age a little, still uber hawt though.

This might be the last one. Last season peaked at 1.4 million. That's a third of the average of season 3
Last season premiere episode drew 912k

This seasons premiere episode drew 1.3M

Hopefully this bodes well but like you said, the numbers are way down. I guess that is to be expected for a long running show that had unfortunate spinoffs that I believe hurt the brand.

What the #### made her gumbo green. I saw her putting some corn and seafood in and next thing you see it's pea soup

Did anyone watch Stephanie go on Iron Chef? I watched the first part it was a bread challenge. When it was clear she hadn't prepared jack #### for the show I turned it off. They give them a list of possible ingredients. Is it so hard to come up with at least 2-3 dishes that work with any of the possibles? She got annihilated apparently looking at the results.

The girls who has won the last two is not a beauty by any stretch but something about her. Great smile. Rooting for her.
She has giant eyes. Looks a bit like a Gray. Some shots also looks like she might be hiding an extra 50. Still, I agree, she is still cute in an odd way

Got written up earlier this year in a Seattle food magazine/blog. Definitely looks a little heavier here than she does in her shot on the Bravo site, where she also mentions Crossfit. My guess is that she started whipping herself into shape when she realized she was going to be on the show.

not sure when it was filmed, but she might have been a bit busy running 1.5 new restaurants plus the main one, and planning her wedding (which I think just happened).
