I just realized she's from Seattle. Maybe I'll go stalk her
I couldn't find the restaurant they listed for her in Seattle when I tried a quick search.
Apparently it hasn't opened quite yet.
she works here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/cascina-spinasse-seattle
Right but the place listed on Bravo is a restaurant by the same restauranteur that hasn't opened yet.
oh, I didn't know that.

I see she used to work at Cafe Juanita. Love that place.

Bravo for whatever reason can't find the time to update the bios but they are more than happy to show you live voting during an ep.

I actually think this is an attempt by her and her boss to try and grab some publicity for the restaurant that's about to open.

The girls who has won the last two is not a beauty by any stretch but something about her. Great smile. Rooting for her.
She has giant eyes. Looks a bit like a Gray. Some shots also looks like she might be hiding an extra 50. Still, I agree, she is still cute in an odd way
Big fan of her when she wears the hair down/across the forehead, not so much pinned up in back.

Really meh episode. I didn't need 4 drivebys of dive viet places.

Strong start now not sure about talent level. Getting a s7 vibe

I think Justin(?) the dude with the beard is the one to watch. Obviously he's been killing it. Surprised he didn't win this challenge. Judges adored his dish and although they liked the Chinese girl's dish they had questions.

Surprised there was just the one challenge. When it started off with "Here's your elimination challenge", I figured, 'Yeah, right... there's going to be an 'elimination challenge' but for some contrived reason they won't be able to name a loser so the bottom 2/3/4 will all cook off against each other in a second round for the last 10 minutes.' I was really, really surprised that it didn't happen that way.

Still stupid, though.

I swear I'm not saying this about Travis (the guy who was all "Vietnam = tomato sauce, idiots") because he's gay, but anyone else think he looks like every guy who ended up in the AIDS ward in Oz?

Glad that doosh went home.

Really annoyed by the team dynamic sometimes. Nina got stuck with a thick-headed stubborn bastage. What is she gonna do? It's always easy for Tom to criticize... "you see your teammate f'ing up, you put your foot down and you make him not do it." Then he criticizes if it goes the other way "you listened to your teammate and they dragged down the team, you put your foot down and make your food." What's she supposed to do there? Glad this time it didn't cost her, but the exact same thing has happened in the past and the best chef's lost because of it. Was really concerned it would happen again.

I think I'm done. I'll let this stuff rot on the DVR a few weeks and if they have contrived, useless challenges like this week just delete and move on.

This season certainly looking like it has the talent of a Hell's Kitchen.

the way they edited that was ridiculous. she made a great dish and it was stupid that they even considered sending her home because she didn't fix her partner's dish as well.

I think they just have to try and come up with something negative to say about everyone who finishes in the bottom groups. If they sent her home, it would have ruined the show for me probably.

Agreed they had to come up with something negative to say, however, in the past on similar challenges, a person in a position similar to Nina was sent home because of what the partner did.

Based on editing, I think Nina and Stephanie, and the bearded local dude probably go far. I have no idea who a lot of the other guys are. There's one average looking pasty white dude who I swore I'd never seen before this episode.

I think Carrie goes farther than Stephanie, but Nina and Justin seem to keep putting out the best dishes. Carlos, Stephanie, Shirley, Sara, Brian, and Louis are seem to be a level lower with everyone else elimination fodder. I'd be shocked if one of Nina or Justin doesn't win though.

I do agree though that last night's theme was more than a little forced. Let's do spooky, cheesy, vegetarian...that'll make for great TV. Entire episode seemed more Chopped/Cutthroat Kitchen (both of which I watch entirely too much of) than Top Chef. Every episode that turns into Top Caterer seems blah now. The episodes in restaurants/table setting always seem to work better for some reason.

Not to mention you have them doing all this Halloween stuff...in June? July?

Been watching Last Chance Kitchen because of Janine. I can usually keep my comments about other hot women fairly respectful in front of my wife, but with Janine on screen I go full on caveman.

They always fake the holiday events. And it was shot in May/June. I was there May25 and saw the crew a few times moving around.

Seems like as good a thread as any here to post that Charlie Trotter died today at age 54.
Yes, saw this earlier. The way it was reported, at least initially, sounded strange (no indication of what happened other than he was found unresponsive at his home). Any more info come out? Very sad.

I said to Mr. krista at the beginning of the show that they just needed to clear some underbrush and named three people, all of whom were the bottom three tonight. Unfortunately they got rid of the only semi-likable one of the three. Gotta hope the other two are the next to go and then we can get to the real chefs.

Nina seems like such a clear front-runner now that I'm hoping there won't be a Hosea moment (although I personally like Justin best anyway).

I suppose I'll be the only person here whose major take-away from the night was that I really, really wanted Gail's radish dress.

Not sure why, but I gave this another shot. They had two of the easiest, most wide open, challenges they will see all year. Challenge 1, use tomatoes, wow tough and it all looked bad to me. Then use cream cheese, or milk, or cream serving family style to like 10 people. There wasn't one dish, even the winners dish that I would have wanted to eat if executed by thomas keller. These guys suck and probably easily going to become known as the low water mark for talent.

Nina may be the frontrunner but she's got the addition by subtraction thing going. She gets out of the way of the food which works fine in this part of the competition, but her food is so simple that she'd be mid pack in virtually any other season. Stuffed squash blossoms with cheese? Is it 2006 again?

Just caught this week's episode. How bad were the bottom 3 that Stephanie didn't even get called in? Her dessert was a :tfp: Tom even said there must have been a story as to why is was terrible, but he didn't need to hear it? They all knew it was a complete failure of both concept and execution, immediately, without even really needing to taste it, yet still she was in no danger at all of going home. Those 3 must have been turds on a plate :lmao:

Oh, and is it a rule that someone has to say "Noooooooo!" whenever the loser is announced? It happens every episode. It's almost insulting to the two survivors... "It should have been you...." I'd love an episode where that didn't happen, rather, "Yeah, sounds right," or "Yessssss!"

Soooo Dr. John. Worst QuickFire guest judge ever?

And this is kind of related to Nina's assessment of the fake NO dude: why does every "character" in New Orleans seem like such a phony?
