*OFFICIAL* W12 MNF Game Thread: Steelers @ Colts (1 Viewer)

Madden and Michaels apparently unaware of this new call I've been seeing a lot of -- 15 yards when a defender takes a blocker out by diving at his knees.

After the break, Michaels will probably have been spoken to by NFL head of officiating and offer an explanation.
Good call

Edge on pace to break the streak of not allowing 100 yd rushers. And the bigger Indy's lead gets, the better his chance to do so.

You could see Peyton saying "hash" after that quick throw to Harrison. I can't remember why, but isn't it harder for right-footed kickers to kick FG's from the right hash vs the left?
Yes, that is true. Right footed kickers want to kick from the left hash.

yep. Oh well he made it.

All this chit chat about what Indy's D has done in the past is overlooking a key fact: they are whipping the Steelers' O tonight.

Okay, it is halftime! I am going to take a prozax, percocet and xanax as I smoke a bone and drink a beer as I watch the 2nd half in bed. Good night all, and may the football gods look favorably upon you all.

You are correct. Right footed kickers will tend to draw the ball from right to left so setting up to the right gives them a "wider" opening as the ball drwas in.

Night, bud.

Okay, I've got a question that's been bothering me for years.

With all the audibling that Manning does, why are the Colts never called for a false start?

Watched the Giant game ysterday (not a giants fan) and they were called repeatedly for flinching. Yet game after game the colts have lineman with head bobbing, moving body around, to hear Manning call the play.

Now you might say that "he's not under center when he steps back to audible."

Well, they do it whether he steps back or not. He does half of it under center.

Further, some of his verbal stuff and hand waving is just for show.

And the audible is really just part of the snap count anyway.

How long do the lineman have to come set before the hike?

Are the officials dropping the ball here?

I don't see any other team getting this type of latitude.

What gives?
Anyone care to respond to this at the half?

Have you ever rode in Michael Irvin's car?

Usually when announcers show off their ignorance, it never gets corrected. But I think the MNF booth has a hotline to the NFL officiating office. Or, the officiating office has a hotline to the MNF booth, more accurately, so they can correct misinformation.

All things considered the Steelers are lucky to only be down 16-7. This game is defeinitely within reach. The offensive has to start getting some first downs and scoring.
agreed - though it is as I expected - these are two of the best scoring defenses in the league against teams in the red zone.I expected a lot of stalled drives inside the 20 with a lot of resulting FGs.

Before there's 5 posts on it...if you don't like the McGraw halftime thing, turn the channel.
The mute button was easier.Well Mooch is gone - and while I think the "Millen sucks" bandwagon loaded up way too quick (including a ton of people who didn't think so as late as August ie people with poop4brains), he should probably go too.

Pro Football Talk had a good point about the Lions this week -- is it possible that the only reason broadcasters don't lump the Ford family in with Bidwill and other perennial terrible owners is because of the millions Ford spends in advertising?

lol that there's more posts about not posting about the halftime show than actually complaining about it.
I think we staved it off this time around. There's usually a whole page debating it. It gets old.

Absolutely! The only reason. Did you see all the Ford setups and backdrops on Thanksgiving. They put in a ton of money.

Loaded up "way too quick"? You obviously don't live in the Metro Detroit area! People have been calling for Millen's head since before he fired Marty!

Not to mention posts about people saying there are too many posts about people saying not to complain about the halftime show. :)

Gotta rant that the whoever writes those stupid lyrics claimed that the Bears won just because of a Tampa Bay FG miss. #1 Defense down?

Pathetic pass by Manning in end zone.....Edit:Nice pass by Manning in end zone.....

Clearly a stupid gamble by Cowher. Your (edit: You're) :P better off hoping for another Manning interception. Now Pittsburgh is in the kind of hole their offense isn't built to handle. Game Over.

Meh, not yet.Technically, it's still 2 scores with 25 minutes left. Plenty of time.

Not the start of the 2nd half the Steelers were looking for. Risky call on the onside kick that burned 'em. If you are going to run that risk you have to at least kick the ball the 10 yds. :wall: :wall: :wall:

Was Cowher with you at halftime?
