Not sure about season 2. The timeline/mind#### stuff was the best part of season 1. Hope they can keep that alive, but I’m afraid it might devolve into a straight action show about the robots’ rebellion.

I'm feeling good about it.  There was a quick shot in the trailer of what looked like a lavish party in a penthouse suite, and Ben Barnes turning to face the camera.  Moreover, Barnes and Jimmi Simpson are both definitely back, so that should mean more scenes from that era in time and maybe more about the beginning of WW and Delos' involvement and how William/MITB gained control.  (Those scenes, including the party scene from the trailer, could even be set before the events with those characters from S1.)

With Nolan in charge there is almost always going to be some sort of timeline-altering conceit and there are hundreds of ways they could do that again.  I'm recalling that in S1, fans rapidly figured out (and posted everywhere) that Dolores was being shown on two separate timelines and that William was the MITB, and I knew/strongly suspected both those things while watching.  Didn't bother me a bit.  If anything, they now have more room to be flexible, and I imagine they'll come up with excellent ways to explore it all.

The only real negative for this season is the presumed absence of Hopkins, who was just absolutely riveting in S1.  If he is still alive somehow - say, that was a host duplicate of himself that Dolores shot - then even that will be fixed.

Late April!  :pickle:   I'm stoked.

I rewatched season 1 to prepare for the new season. A few thoughts and predictions:

I predict that Hopkins will be back and that they've done an excellent job of hiding that to this point to set up the big reveal. They obviously left it open as an option since they showed a host being created in his private lab in 2 different episodes. Whether he comes back as the real Ford or a robot Ford is anyone's guess but I think he's back.

Did Abernathy, Delores' dad, make it out to the mainland with the WW data? They never showed him at the end in the storage facility with the rest of the bodies where he was before. I think he did since it was implied that there was a bigger plan for the technology, as Theresa said to Bernard " Do you really think the corporations interests here are tourists playing cowboy?"  Unless they intend on keeping the whole season inside the park, which I doubt, Abernathy probably made it out. I would imagine the technology is intended for military use.

Maeve reached consciousness in her final scene. The tablet showed that the course that Ford put her on was to reach the mainland. So her and Delores both have achieved consciousness. Not sure what either do with that.

I think we'll see where WW really is. An island? Since they call it the mainland, that seems logical but who knows

Stubbs, the security guy and Elsie are both alive. I think Elsie lured Stubbs to her location and got the Ghost Nation, who didn't listen to commands, to capture him and bring him to her location. I think they will form some sort of resistance to the hosts.

I do have a question about the ending. For Ford's new narrative to happen the way it did, with Delores and Teddy at the ocean, the MiB had to stab Delores. How could Ford anticipate that the MiB would be where he was at that point? It's probably something you just need to overlook but you never know with this show.

I'm not going to try and predict too much of the storylines in the new season because that would be impossible. While there probably won't be too many character reveals like there were in the first season, there will be plenty of guessing who is or isn't a robot. I loved the first season and fully expect to love the new one. Can't wait!

The official title for the new park is "Shogun World," though there's some debate in terms of the spelling: "Shogunworld" and "ShogunWorld" are both in play as contenders. Until further clarification, we'll space the words out.

Sho'nuff: You may not wish to fight me now, sucka! But you will.  I'm gonna  see to that! Sayonara.. Who's the Master!?!
Sho'nuff's Gang: Sho'nuff!
Sho'nuff: Who's the master!?!
Sho'nuff's Gang: Sho'nuff!
Sho'nuff: The Shogun of Westworld!!

Have they ever really established if the world is just land in Arizona someone bought and put a geofence around for robots, or something that is more like a "Truman Show" bubble?

To that end how do they "escape"? They would need some amount of power, no?

Isn't the more likely situation the outside world govt. just comes in and sends a couple cruise missiles at their power supply and communications and it's game over?

I guess that's less fun.

I'm guessing we'll find out where it actually is this season. Another planet, an island?

A description I heard that sounded good was that Season 1 was an inward look at the world while Season 2 will be a steady pulling back to reveal more and more of what is really going on.

It's going to be a really tough logic leap to say that Delores and the Thandie character are just going to get out and go get a job at JCrew or something.

I mean they are past the "Total Recall" point now.

I was just thinking this... I watched and enjoyed season 1, but it must have been completely forgettable because I can barely tell you what happened.
I took the time and re-watched the entire season because I couldn't remember much of it either. The 2nd time through was actually STILL very enjoyable and I picked up on some nuances that I missed the first time through.

I do think this type of show is far more enjoyable because it's released weekly, rather than netflix style.  There are a lot of points I would overlook by both binge watching and not having people nitpicking plot points or pointing out fan theories on the intertubes.

I wonder what shows on netflix suffer for the same reason and don't get quite the release audience they would have otherwise. It's of course possible they DGAF.

Still, I'm sort of hyped for this after binging a metric #### ton of netflix dramas between end of GOT and this.

I've recently blown through The Americans and am currently on season 5 of Justified (which has slightly slowed down lately due to the return of shows I watch the week they air: Billions, Silicon Valley, and The Expanse)....I can't imagine binge watching a show like Westworld.  Just doesn't make sense unless you can figure out a safe way to "research" each episode without ever running into spoilers.

Anyone have a good 5 minute recap video?
Basic gist was corporate wanted to get rid of the founder who wanted to give the robots consciousness and tell the board to f off.

Oh and lots of hot naked chicks. And Bernard was a robot all along

Is the Americans done?  I started watching on Prime two years ago and made it though maybe season 2. After that I decided to wait til it finished.

Last season is currently airing now.  The next episode will be 6.04.  I binged it to get current and then slow roll the final season.  My tracking app only shows them doing 10 episodes in season 6 after doing 13 episodes during seasons 1-5, but it might not be fully updated.

I like this show, but I don’t think I could ever love it. I think the main reason for this is I have a hard time fully investing when I think I’m always being deceived by what I’m watching.

Yup.  Liked it alot.  Great first episode
Agreed. Set things in motion in some really interesting ways. I love how everything we see is put to the test. Dolores was an unreliable narrator last season. This season it's Bernard. We're seeing things but is it reality? Great stuff.

Oh and Tessa Thompson

So Bernard knows he's a bot now right? But no one else does?
He’s got to know, he saw that he was failing or whatnot and injected himself with robot juice or whatever that was...  I do hope we get some explanation of that.

I get lesser Helmsworth and everyone not knowing he was a robot, they have no reason to believe otherwise. I don’t know how the robot detecting robot didn’t catch it though, so I hope they go into that a bit as well.
