OFFICIAL WEEK 4 WEIGH-IN:

Starting Weight: 335.6

Last Week: 324.2

Current Weight: 320.6

Lost: 3.6 lbs

Total Lost: 15.00 lbs

Total % Lost: 4.46%

@Sand

@fantasycurse42

I was hoping it was better.  Sunday morning I was 319.8, but wasn't very active yesterday and suffering from a little of Acer's issue.  Lol

SW: 378.8 | LW: 354.8 | CW: 352.6

Managed a loss despite a relative binge last night for the Royal Rumble. Considered it Super Bowl prep.

edit: not that a one-night deal would cause any significant fat gain, I was worried about that number in relations to sodium/water weight.

So weird, I think I look 10lbs less, love handles aren't too bad, my face looks a bit leaner and my pants are fitting better and better.

Oh well, gotta go with what the scale says.  I will be underwear model fit before the summer or I will stop posting ITT.  Now you all have something to root against.

Aren't you spending a lot of time in the weight room?  Are you returning to the weight training after some time away?  Is there such a thing as muscle memory?  (I sure hope that there is!)

I lift regularly but I scaled back Oct - Dec.  Been back at it hard since January so I suspect some of my non-loss has to do with that.  And I'm sure there are water and salt issues since I don't really worry about salt or carbs or anything, just total calories.

And once you've lifted and established a base of muscle, if you stop and then go back, you will definitely get back up to speed on your lifts much more quickly than someone who's never lifted.

This week - 187.6.  Up 1.5lbs.  Not surprising given mu week lask week.  In normal times I'd be up 5lbs, so not a bad week all told.

Pull up bar, adjustable dumbbells, various resistance bands, yoga mat, that big fitness ball.
If you have that stuff then I strongly recommend the sagi kalev workouts.

He has two sets. Body beast which is bro split hypertrophy and masters hammer and chisel which is total body varied rep range stuff.

I would do a mix of the two but if I was cutting I would start with hammer chisel then bring in the other later.  There is a demo girl on masters with the biggest fake #### ever. And she can't really do some of the moves because they get in the way. You'll see.

Damn, I'm way behind.  Are you serious?  What is the thought process here?
It was a little tongue in cheek BUT

I don't know your workout plan/actual fitness level/what diet you are on/actual calories in.

There are some studies that suggest stuck at a plateau you are actually not eating enough calories.

There are some studies that say adding a cheat day (doesn't mean eat 7 cheeseburgers) can help refuel your body :shrug:

This was discussed early January. The interpretation you have is not one that I really share. I think refeeds are when weight is coming off too fast to prevent metabolism stalls.

Of course most of the people here are losing weight too fast so its often difficult to discern the right approach with refeeds.

The problem is if you refeed a stall you've already ####ed up.  The goal is to prevent plateaus not break them.

I realized last night that I didnt remove my wastes at all this weekend. Feeling backed up if you know what I mean. Hoping it pushes through today. If not, my weigh in tomorrow will not look good.
Are you eating enough veggies?  My rule of thumb when trying to lose weight is for the most part I don't count calories from veggies.  The more the better.  Keeps you more full and keeps things pushing through on a very regular no-strain schedule.  Throwing cheese or oil or other high calorie additions on them changes the not counting calorie rule for me.  But eating an extra 100 calories of green beans or kale.  Who cares.  I'm likely to eat a little less at dinner or at least feel more full and do better in the long run if I'm doing that anyway.

Halo Top... and yes, it's good
I think it's just ok.  For that price, I expected it to taste exactly like ice cream....but it doesn't.  there's some different taste that I can't really explain.  Something with the texture too.

To me it's no different than that "No Sugar Added" ice cream.

:shrug:

What, exactly, do you consider "veggies"?

I think I need to get back on the salads, at least a small side salad, for lunch or dinner.  I was doing well with having salad at least once a day with a meal but have dropped the ball recently.  Think I'll cut back in the potatoes with dinner and alternate with salad.

I've noticed the potatoes affect my glucose levels if I eat to much of them (more than 4-5 ounces) at one sitting.  All trial and error but still heading in the right direction overall.

Honestly, just about everything you'd find in the produce section of your store that's not a potato and not a fruit only because those are higher calorie.  I might be forgetting something.  But squash, mostly anything green, peppers, eggplants, carrots, onions, radishes etc... etc... etc...  I know squash isn't that low calorie either but it sure fills me up enough that it's hard to binge on it and mess up your day (assuming you're not adding sugar or oil or something else to it).  That's just me though, different things work for everyone I know.  But for me throwing in a big pile of veggies with whatever I eat helps me lose weight.

I eat no veggies. A little bit of a lie. I ate green beans last night. But aside from those, nothing else for the week. I do not like vegetables aside from green beans, corn on the cobb and brussel sprouts

If you don't get bored of eating the same thing daily I'd try and add one of those 3 veggies at least once a day in a relatively good sized portion.  I bet that would take care of the issue and keep it from coming back.  It's not quite as healthy because there is a decent amount of butter added but these are delicious:

If the weight stays the same and the body fat goes down then you're still coming out ahead.  Keep up the good work.  :thumbup:

I figured you'd lose 5 lbs this week just from puking while watching Liverpool ;)

A friend included a pint with a meal they brought us post-baby a couple weeks ago. It's...not good ice cream. And it has artificial sweeteners in it, which I studiously try to avoid.
I thought Stevia was a good replacement?

I'm not sure myself how healthy Stevia is (although it's one of the ones that people seem to think isn't bad).  I avoid artificial sweeteners myself mainly because artificial sweeteners seem to be a lot sweeter than things with Sugar and HFCS in them (both of which I try to limit).  And I figure it's messing up my palate.  Plus I already have a sweet tooth, making it worse seems like a bad idea.

@Sand

215, right near my start weight.  That said, I only slept at home 6 nights in January because of a crazy travel schedule.  Starting a cleanse next week.  Expect to be around 200 by the end of Feb, was just spotting you guys a month!

Guys from the 5k thread might appreciate this.

When I started this I had trouble doing 2 miles. I did it but my breathing and heart rate was awful. I stuck with that for two weeks. Then I increased to 3 miles. At the end of last week, my breathing and hr were almost back to my regular. I felt so good today that my 3 mile run turned into a 3.6 mile run

Now im not turning in any personal records (38:16 today), but im starting to get my kick back. I thought it would take longer.

236.2 This morning, have a good couple days then shoot myself in the foot. Thinking about no booze for February......have most of you guys cut out the alcohol?

@Sand

I had two celebratory drinks after the Falcons playoff wins - single finger of scotch both times.  If they win Sunday I plan to drink the rest of the bottle.
In fairness, I have not had alcohol since 2005, and that was one very low alcoholic frozen grasshopper. Felt like I needed to drink one thing on my honeymoon for the price of our stay.

221.4 @Sand

Concert Friday night undid gains I made during the week. Lots of beer and 2 AM McDonald's.  Then more beer at an awesome pub in Toronto Saturday night.

Trying to figure out dinner.  Thus far my intake has consisted of 1/2 a deer cube steak wrapped in bacon with cream cheese and jalapeño in the center.  Maybe 150 calories.  Had to make up for a splurge yesterday.

Workout was a 7 mile, 89 min run followed by 30 minutes of lifting, 10 minutes stretching, and then a mile speed walk on the treadmill.

For those saying muscle loss would be an issue on a calorie deficit, 225 went up 4 times yesterday on the bench.  That was my max 4 weeks ago.   :excited:  Still several months from being able to do a pull up.  :bag:

Halo top is at my central market, so I got two pints.  Not too bad.  I'm supposed to eat the whole damn thing?  It's basically a frozen protein shake.
