Owners trying to trade or get Lamont Jordan (1 Viewer)

guy in my league is trying to trade Jordan for either FWP or C.Taylor is he nuts?? I tried to give Gore for him but no bite! So what is the projected stats for LJ? Alot of people are overreacting in my opinion 1300 yrds total are still within reach this year!

As a Raider Fan I can tell you people are not overreacting. Lamont Jordan is going to have a tough year. I would keep Gore, If you must have Jordan wait until next week after the Balt game and see if you can get him for less.

I know it's typical shark thinking to swoop in when players are devalued but sometimes they are devauled for good reasons.

I was offered L. Jordan and Gates for Bush and LJ Smith. .5 ppr, redraft league. I'll probably hang onto Bush and wait until after Jordan plays @ BAL and has the bye, and assess from there.

In a 10 team league, I was offered:

LJ & LJ

for

Ronnie Brown, Gore, Ahman

I also have Rudi Johnson and Brian Westbrook (took RB 5/6 of my first picks), Ahman slid and I nabbed Gore right at the best time IMO.

I am still contemplating it, but likely to say no.

Starting RB's of:

Larry Johnson

Rudi Johnson

Brian Westbrook

Sounds pretty enticing though.

you guys are overreacting way too much, it's only been one week. remember Tomlinson still got his numbers a few years ago on a horrible San Diego team. I know LDT > Jordan but I still think it's a decent comparison. as a RB he'll still get lots of touches IMO.

Normally, I'd agree with you: don't overreact to one bad week. But I don't think this Raiders team is a normal NFL team at this point. Normal teams don't have offensive coordinators with bios like this:Since being fired by the Raiders, Walsh was head coach for two seasons at Idaho State and worked as director of operations and head coach of a minor-league franchise in Mobile, Ala. He has been out of football since 1999.

Walsh owns and operates the Hansen Guest Ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho. Reached at the ranch by telephone, Walsh said he wouldn't talk about his new job until next week.

What the big green guy said. :goodposting: I thought about trading for Jordan. I'm still thinking about it, but the Raiders look like a downright mess. Its the offensive line I'm most worried about. If I thought they could plug in a new QB (like Walters) and do something, then Jordan would be an excellent buy-low prospect. But, I'm thinking that is NOT the case after watching Game 1.

I offered up LJordan & Curtis for Cadillac and got flatly rejected. I guess my 1st round pick was a waste but I dont know what to do about getting another RB.

I'm trying to parlay my RB's performances in week 1 to try and upgrade that position for me. I was hoping my reaches at RB would pan out for me in the second half of the season but they all had relatively good games so I am looking at other teams that might be in desperation and upgrade either my RB's or QB's. I play in a start 1RB 1WR and 2FLEX(WR/TE/RB) league and have good depth at WR. MY QB's are scaring me at the moment(CPEP,Favre, and Frye) and would like a more secure player at that position. My RB's are SJackson, Maroney, Duece, and Henry. SJax is untouchable but I'm going to try and package Duece, Henry, and CPep to try and acquire Palmer and another RB. Hopefully I can pull it off. BTW my WR's that I started last week were Harrison, Burress, and Reg Brown so i am relatively happy with a possible starting lineup of those three to also include Jackson and Maroney and to just mix and match those guys up.

Now Im thinking about offering uo Jordan for Fred Taylor and Laurence Maroney. I could strike lighting in a bottle if Dillon gets hurt.

I'm gonna take my chances and hang on to Jordan. I could count at least 6 times that he hit his block and stepped out into the flat looking for a dump off pass just as Brooks was tucking the ball and getting flattened. You got to think they'll see that on film and take advantage of some of those situations going forward. Best defense against the rush can make anyone look bad..even the Raiders

Of course I was fortunate to get Gore and Bush in my PPR league so can afford to sit a few weeks

Agreed. I'm in a 10 teamer so I can afford to hang onto him to, but I'm still going to wait it out since I have other options.

I am keeping him at this point for a couple of reasons. His value is very low and you couldn't get anything close to what you invested in him. Also, I think that he will improve from last night. The Radiers suck, but they did last year too and he put up good numbers. I know...new coach, new OC. There have been plenty of good FF backs that played on terrible teams.

jeez, I offered Maroney for Jordan straight up.

really unfair imo, but the guy's been trying to get him from me all season. I think he looks at Maroney as this year's breakout RB since he traded for LJ early on last season and lucked out.

i'm not gonna talk him out of it.

are ya'll the same ones trying to trade Sean Alexander for little to nothing ?

hopefully Oakland will correct this. As a Jordan owner, I'm not selling. Would I "buy" him if I could ? Yes I would

With you Cat. Lets hope it pays off
I'm praying somebody offers me something..anything decent for LJordan. And last year I was the guy looking to dump KJones in the preseason. Sometimes preseason and first games really do mean something. In this case it means that Oakland's O is going to be horrible and LJorday is going to get <40 passes this year which was his saving grace last year. I may break both my ankles but I am jumping off this bandwagon.

I have both FWP & Chester in my league. No way would I trade either for Jordan. I knew the raiders were gonna stink & I purposely avoided Jordan on draft day.

Jordan has an incredibly rough schedule to go. He has a nice three game run after the bye, I would wait and trade him then if I owned him.

This isn't the first time I've said this, but I'll give it a go again.

LaMont Jordan was a product of Norv Turner's offensive scheme. He isn't/wasn't worthy of the automatic RB1 status he recieved this year.

He's a decent back with a decent skill-set, but he's on a terrible team. He benefitted last year from a boatload of receptions and long runs out of passing formations. He's not going to have much luck behind a dreadful offensive line in a run-first offense. If you made the mistake of drafting this guy as your #1 running back, try to deal him before the Raiders officially collapse.

FWIW, I just traded Jordan for Kevin Jones straight up. Got turned down with Jordan for Chester straight up.

I drafted Jordan as my RB2 in what would would be an early to mid-2nd round pick in a non-keeper format.

From what I read Jones had a better game than his numbers show. He's got a tough matchup this week with Chicago, but Ahman had a good game against them. Det has a nice stretch of good rushing matchups after that, plus I expect the Lions O to improve as the year goes on.

Not a great trade, but I just couldn't sit there with Jordan @ Baltimore then on a bye without a reliable RB3 behind him. He's basically useless for the next two weeks, which is 17% of the rest of the FF regular season.

LOL, didn't take my own advice!I ususally don't but I just got really pessimistic on Jordan.

I am going to look to pick him up in my leagues after the game against Baltimore. He has a bye in Week 3 so his owner might be desperate and looking for a decent start that week.

His schedule is not too dificult the rest of the season as he plays San Fran, Arizona, and KC twice. He also plays KC and Stl. in the playoffs.

I think those are pretty good matchups and his value will be very low after Baltimore destroys them this week. I would not be looking to buy him this week as I think his value will be even lower after the next game.

Just completed the following trade in a 12 team PPR league.

Traded: Fred Taylor, Deion Branch, JETS Defense

Got back: LaMont Jordan, Jerry Porter, SKINS Defense

I was impressed by Taylor's hard nosed running against the Cowboys but I just can't get comfortable thinking that he's gonna last while getting all these touches. I think Branch could be productive in Seattle but I don't know that. Plus, it'll be about 3 weeks or so before he starts to produce there, in my opinion.

Figured this was a "buy low" op on Jordan and I feel like the SKINS are a definite upgrade over the JETS. I'll put Porter at the end of my bench (just like Art Shell did) and see if something happens there.

Taylor was my RB3. Now Jordan becomes my RB2 behind Tomlinson and Bush is my RB3.

horrible team, line, management, schedule... what's to like? If you can get a starting RB for him at this point, consider yourself lucky. (maybe you can get a Deuce owner to bite)

Jesus I can't get anything for him!I'm thinking about taking the Chicago D :wall:

I Have him in a dynasty league. Im not going to trade him. Even if he is a RB2 or 3 i will be fine. Plus in the off season his value will rise again..We start 3-4 RB's so they are worth a ton.

I agree.

I have made the following offers and been rejected on all of them just in case it helps someone:

Jordan for CWilliams

Jordan for Maroney and Coles

Jordan for KJones and Bryant

Jordan for TJones and Walker

Relax, it's only week two!!!!

RIP, Lamont and Caddy owners. In weeks 1 and 2, subpar production (LJ, SA) is one thing... ZERO production = get out the shovel.

I have a pending trade (verbally agreed to just waiting for the online acceptance) to deal Lamont Jordan and Brett Favre for DeShaun Foster and Phillip Rivers. It's a auction/keeper league. I already have DeAngelo Williams and Rivers is cap friendly next year as a possible keeper qb to pair with Eli.

In my league, I was going to trade Barlow and TBell for Lamont Jordan and leave him as my RB3...however that owner got a call and was offered Ahman Green and Deuce McAllister for him...can't say I blame him for jumping all over that.

makes sense.Farve is a joke.

Dynasty league, 16 teams.

Was offered:

Lee Evans

2007 1st round rookie pick

2007 3rd round rookie pick

for

LaMont Jordan

Acquired Lamont & M. Moore in a 14 team auction league, $200 bid money with 0 min nomination, for Droughns and Lee Evans. Lamont is my rb 4 behind McGahee. Dunn, and Chester Taylor. Also have Tatum, Marion Barber, and Norwood, Can start 3 rbs, standard scoring with ppr. Spent a ton on rbs, nothing on QB(2% ) and K( 0%), about 25% of auction money on wrs, spent 7% of 200 auction dollars on Watson & Ravens.

Qbs are Favre and Rivers, wrs Driver, Kennison, Williamson, Jenkins, and Clayton(Bal), TE Watson, K Koenen, got to get a new one, Df Ravens.

Probably could have got Jordan for less, had 6 owners in a group together, no one would even give him an offer for Jordan. Raiders can't be this bad all year.
