Well, that's been speculated on for 50 years now. The song was written primarily by John and IMO it is exactly the kind of thing he would write about. People think early Beatles, so it has to be innocent, right?? I Want To Hold Your Hand and all that. Yeah, what I wouldn't give to have followed those 4 guys around Hamburg in the early 60s. My guess is the entire perception of the early Beatles would change if you could do that.

Certainly the song could have another meaning, but if you think this wasn't a wink, wink, nudge, nudge on the part of John, I think you don't know John very well.

Great show Friday night. 38 soungs in 2 hours, 42 minutes with not much let up. Sir Paul has an excellent band with him. A highlight was him playing a ukelele on "Something" as a tribute to George, saying that he and George used to fool around with doing Something on ukes back in the day. Other highlights were a balls to the wall version of "Helter Skelter" as an encore and of course the singalong part of "Hey Jude." Sound at Nationals Park was a bit muddy, at least where we sat under the overhang of the lower deck.

I don't know how Macca does it but he still does his dead level best to rock out. His band is great. The Eagles have that problem some older artists have where they slow most of their stuff to a slow or mid tempo recreation of the classics and it's a drag. I remember seeing Clapton and I was so stoked in advance... and could have gone to sleep. That's not a problem with McCartney.

I saw him in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago. To do 35 songs for nearly 3 hours straight without so much as taking a break for a drink of water at his age is very impressive. Even though I'd seen him back in 2019 and it was nearly the same show, it was still awesome. To have that love for performing and giving the fans an experience to still be doing this at 83 is commendable.

I went to the McCartney concert in NO last night. My god what a show. The dude is more incredible than ever.

I just watched the documentary Get Back and while the Beatles were my first "rock" band, I gained an even greater appreciation for them and their music after. Would love to see McCartney perform sometime. He's one of those old school dudes that seem to get it and it reflects in what he gives back to the audience. I saw Robert Plant a number of times and was very similar, just a pro that made sure everybody in the audience walked away with a memory.

It's really incredible that Paul, the Eagles or any other legendary mega-artist still get out there night after night to perform. It must be incredibly exhausting. and they certainly don't need the money, but do it out of love for the music and their fans.
