For whatever reason, there are some guys that always seem to be undervalued. If you have them on your roster, it is almost impossible to trade them. Who first came to mind when you read the title?

I have to go with Phillip Rivers. Depending on league scoring, he was around QB#5 this year, did well last year, and is still young, yet no one seems willing to give anything up to get him.

Derrick Mason immediately comes to mind. He is PPR gold. I will gladly draft him again next year and hope he continues to defy Father Time. Rock solid WR2 in PPR you can get in the mid-later rounds.

Older WRs are a great value every year. Everyone wants the new shiny toys and the productive older WRs just keep sliding.

Philip Rivers sucked badly for a large part of 07 and until this year I never really viewed him as a value pick

Agree that older wrs in ppr leagues are usually good value picks. Coles, Driver, Mason have made great WR3s the last several years. Although I guess Coles died with Favres arm down the stretch this season. Also, until this year Galloway was a good example

Donovan McNabb is the 1st guy I thought of. Maybe its the lack of a true #1 WR, but he always falls way too far in drafts.

Drew Brees has played at a 1st round level for 3 straight years now, but I'd be shocked if he went in many 1st rounds next year.

The Smiths - Rod and Jimmy, and whenever I hear the phrase "undervalued", Eddie Kennison comes to mind. Curtis Martin to a lesser extent as well.The unsexy guys will always be values. Portis, older WRs, Drew Brees, Gonzo are already mentioned, but it's for good reason; in the future, I expect MarShawn Lynch, Frank Gore, Owen Daniels, and maybe Rodgers to fall into this trap. Basically, guys who are not going to be the #1 guy at their position, don't make many highlight reels, but just flat out produce.

I'm in a dynasty league, and I can't trade Rivers - no one wants him. He's young and one of the top QBs, which normally would make him worth a lot. He outperformed Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan this year, yet you won't get anything near the same for Rivers as you would for either of them.

Then I started to think about it, and there are some guys that no one ever wants. Kevin Curtis is another good example. I probably couldn't get a third round rookie draft pick for him. He'll never win championships for you, but he should be worth more than most of the players that get drafted in the third round of a rookie draft.

Fred Taylor was always that way. Got labeled "Fragile Fred" and everyone was down on him. He still put up good numbers for many years.

Fred is a good example of a type of player I like to target; the perceived second back in a committee. They usually are at least a good bye week fill in and at best they out play their rival. Too often people look at L. White/Chris Johnson, Ricky Williams/R. Brown, D. Williams/Stewart and assume that only the perceived top back has value. Those second backs can get lost in the draft and snagged in later rounds.

Westbrook was the first player that popped into my head. It's taken time for his ADP to match his numbers but he still doesn't get his full value in trades, so essentially if you draft him you've got him for good.

Others I would suggest are older recievers, possesion recievers and backs that pick up a lot of yardage through receptions (eg a back who picks up 1100 yds rushing, 100 rec gets more attention than a 600 rsh yds, 600 rec yds back).

Mason GonzoPortis

Mason is definitely a stud. Averaging 87 rec., 1061 yards receiving, and 5 TD's since 2002... So what rounds did he go in among your various drafts?Gonzalez has averaged 76 rec., 912 yards receiving, and 6 TD's over 12 seasons. Aside from a couple of peak years, he's fallen well below his value more often than not.Portis' average of 33 rec. might not seem like a lot, but put that on top of 1314 rushing and 272 receiving yards with close to 11 TD's per season... that's a big time boost that goes unnoticed by many.I've enjoyed having these guys on almost all of my teams over the last couple years.PPR leagues will always have diamonds in the rough, so to speak.

Yeah, his numbers for receptions and receiving were almost identical in 07/08. (112, 111 and 1175, 1165 respectively)

Definitely Welker in a ppr and even more so in a dynasty ppr. Last two years only 5 WRs have outscored him. Two of those guys are much older, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. Other three are Wayne, Fitz and Marshall. All top 5 type guys in dynasties. Welker ranks in the 15-20 range.
