Peyton & Eli Manning - alternate MNF program: ‘The ManningCast’ (1 Viewer)

I've read Brady is worth something like $270 Million at this point, so if he were to be on TV it won't be for the money or they would have to overpay him colossal to make it worth his time. I'm sure he is just doing this because his buddy Peyton is doing this for ESPN. It's good for TB12 Brand he continues to grow.

It's an ego thing. He had to have seen Russ and this is popular. He wants to be a part of it.

This. And Bill probably would have #### on him for doing it

Seriously though this seems like it would be fun to do for a quarter...prepping for a game every week a whole other thing.

Love Marshawn, but nothing better than hearing Peyton and Brady talk about football. Particularly the different defenses they thought were toughest to face.

First time watching.  Really enjoying it.  Been kind of a boring game otherwise.  They can say some things and react ways the guys on the regular broadcast can't.

Been watching since week 1 and they have defiantly improved since then. Both were full of nerves and now they seemed relaxed and just enjoying it. Brady and Peyton could have a show of there own and I would tune in. Some people I would like to see that I think would be interesting

-Ed Reed

-Tony Romo

-Randy Moss

-Ochocinco

Those are just a few that I think would be good to watch but really there is countless of people I would like to see on the show.

defiantly--->definitely

Never understood why someone would be so against improvement?

Brees was kind of a letdown, TBH.

I agree that the Bird segment was pretty weak, but she is one of the top 10-15 women's basketball players of all time and plays in Seattle, so the concept of having her on was good.

The question is, did people in Seattle even know who she was. If you told me a women played for the Philadelphia WNBA team, I'd have no clue who she was. I don't even know if there is a Philly WNBA team.

Of course I don't know anyone on the MLS team or the Pro Lacrosse team or Pickle ball team or Disc golf team either.

I thought Brees was okay. It seemed like there were a few times he wanted to say something but Peyton wouldn’t shut up.

I thought it was kinda funny when Jameis threw a pass to no one, and Brees quietly said, “what are you doing?” Like he didn’t even mean to say that out loud. 😂

I'm so glad the Manning's are back. I couldn't stand watching the normal broadcast. The only critique I have of the Manning's broadcast is the talking over each other sometimes, then one guy stops and waits for the other to go all awkward.

Agreed, but that could be a function of the format. Speaking from the perspective of having been on WAY too many MS Teams meetings over the past year and a half, that whole talking over one another and awkward silent moments is quite common. Now imagine trying to be entertaining with zero live feedback and signal lag. The production is pretty raw... maybe that's how they want it... maybe its lack of budget.

Overall I found it very entertaining and exponentially better than listening to Steve Levy and crew. And I don't miss the heart-warming, human interest pieces from the sideline reporters either.

I love it.

One of the reasons? You get to see these sports stars answering "unloaded" questions. We get so used to seeing this press conference Q&A where everything is measured. It's refreshing to see people just shooting he breeze and hearing the stories. The chit-chat last night with Josh Allen was great... Josh and Pat Mahomes cleaning Peyton out of beer at a cookout last pre-season? And Josh meeting Chad Henne for the first time and Chad tells him, "I'm Pat's QB coach" and he buys it (did not know who Chad Henne was)? That's good stuff.

It's unique and I hope it can last because the MNF broadcast team seems to get worse every year.

Deadspin covered the current player curse as well.

- In Week 1, Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce and Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson both made guest appearances. The Chiefs lost their Week 2 matchup with Baltimore 36-35, while Wilson’s Seahawks suffered an overtime loss at the hands of Tennessee in Week 2.
- In Week 2, the Mannings had Bucs’ tight end Rob Gronkowski on the show. In Week 3, the Bucs lost their first game of the season, a 34-24 defeat at the hands of Matt Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
- Naturally, Stafford made an appearance in Week 3. In Week 4, his undefeated Rams lost their only game of the year to the Arizona Cardinals.
- After a multi-week hiatus, the ManningCast returned in Week 7 and featured reigning Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs lost their next game, 36-27, to the Trevor Siemian-led New Orleans Saints.

- That’s five players to have made appearances on the ManningCast and five players whose teams lost the next week. In Week 8, Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen made his first appearance on the show.

The Bills play the Jaguars on Sunday.Something tells me Urban Meyer won't be able to keep this streak going. 😄

I watched for about 60 seconds when they were talking about a golf outing with Al Michaels.   Why do they think anyone is interested in that?

Gave it the first try last night.  It wasn't bad, but if I want to watch the game I'm not going to tune in again.  Too distracting.

ETA: if they made it a variety show then I'd be in.

I view it as the anti-MNF broadcast option... I have zero (0) interest in almost everything Steve Levy, his two booth babes, and the sideline reporters have to say. They miss just about everything on the field anyway because they're all in such a hurry to be the next to talk so politically perfect... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

With the Manning's, it feels like just sitting around, watching the game, and ball busting going on to fill in the gaps. The Michaels' golf thing was leading up to Mickelson - who was the next guest last night. I thought Phil was really good... especially his comments on the Manning Curse... "Oh I think it is real, which is why I'm not playing next weekend... in case it bleeds over into golf!"

Michelson was pretty good. He had really good football questions for them. He was almost interviewing them.

I haven't listened to MNF with the sound on in several years. They're not going to say anything insightful and I think people on this board can identify who caught what pass faster than they can.

I like the Mannings' program. Good banter from guys who love football, and you get to see a human side of the guests.

Such good shtick.

Looked like he wanted to outprepare Peyton.  He was trying so hard not to laugh as he asked those deep probing football questions.

To me the best part of their show is when it's the two of them talking about the game as it's happening, when they're watching the plays and commenting.  The guests just distract them from that, because they're too busy talking about Rivers' bolo ties and playing golf with Mickelson.  It's the same reason I love watching a game that Romo is calling, because he notices things on the field that I don't, he can anticipate plays, he can credibly second guess coaches and have specific reasons why.  Both of the Mannings are so football smart, and Peyton has an incredible recall...that's the stuff I like to watch.

Totally agree.  I like the idea of guests but they should cut the guest air time by at least 50%.  I like hearing the take on the game by Eli and Peyton.

Reading that it will be

Q1 - Bill Parcells

Q2 - Kevin Hart

Q3 - Condoleeza Rice

Q4 - Julian Edelman

was hoping they'd have the Barber twins on for some awkward moments between Tiki and the Mannings.
