Peyton & Eli Manning - alternate MNF program: ‘The ManningCast’ (4 Viewers)

Peyton and Eli is the only broadcast I want to see. Don't want to hear the broadcast booth talk about what I'm already seeing, and fawning over whoever they interviewed that week. I LIKE that they're only half-watching the game. So am I. Their insight (when they offer it) is better than anything the other guys have. When a QB throws a pick, it literally hurts Peyton. That's how ingrained being a quarterback is for him.

I don't want football guests talking about the same football cliches. I want to see people from other walks of life talking as fans. I like when they rip on each other, as siblings do. I like Peyton and Russell Wilson lamenting Super Bowl rings they didn't win. You never hear that anywhere else.

The guests are having fun and they're having fun. I used to just mute the games when I watched them, or listen to the Spanish broadcast (I don't speak Spanish. I just enjoy hearing the enthusiasm in their voices without having to process the boring talk). Now I have another option. Just my opinion.

Fully agree. It's not for everyone. To me, it's worth it just to be able to skip all the BS background stories and "warm fuzzy" bits from the sideline reporters. The Manning cast watches the game just like I do sitting around with a group of friends... when there's something to get excited about, we (they) get excited about it.

My least favorite schtick in any game:

Sideline reporter, “coach, you’re getting waxed 37-3. What changes will you be making in the 2nd half?”

Coach: (dagger eyes, spouts off a bunch of cliches)

It’s just so worthless and grating.

NFL @NFL
"Peyton often talks about the TD he threw against you."

The Mannings had some Peyton vs. Prime highlights on hand and @DeionSanders had thoughts 😂

"It took you 12 seconds to get in. It took Dak 4 seconds."

@EliManning saw Dak's bootleg TD and took an opportunity 😂

Honestly always better in retrospect because of the guest format. They can't concentrate on the games exclusively when in that format, and it detracts from watching the actual product on the field. When Eli and Peyton discuss strategy and share playing anecdotes the show really cooks, but that's too few and far between for my liking.

Peyton Manning Seemed So Annoyed Having to Watch Zach Wilson Play QB for Jets

Excerpt:

Appearing on ESPN’s ManningCast, Peyton couldn’t contain his disdain for the much-criticized Wilson’s play after being thrusted into Monday’s Jets-Bills game following a first-quarter ankle injury to Aaron Rodgers.

Midway through the third quarter, Eli Manning asked Peyton if Wilson, who had thrown it 12 times up to that point, would throw ball 25 times by the end of the game, prompting him to unleash an epic eye roll as he replied to his brother’s question.

“No,” Manning said bluntly, “Three more at the most, three more pass attempts.”

As the Wilson-led offense looked to make a play, Peyton wildly threw his hands in the air when the 24-year-old QB frantically scrambled backwards in order to avoid a sack.

“Let’s just go backwards, let’s just run backwards,” Manning said with his arms folded. “Looks like Kurt Russell in…”
While the clearly perturbed Manning didn’t get to finish his jab due to a stoppage in play for a penalty, the Pro Football Hall of Famer likely would’ve chosen a doozy of a movie reference to sum up his opinion of Wilson’s effort.

The tech involved with the Manningcast is pretty great. Love Peyton being able to get up and show stuff on his giant screen or show that 3D tabletop thing he had where he could manipulate the players.

That tabletop was awesome. First time seeing that
