Phillip Daniels DONE FOR THE YEAR! (1 Viewer)

Taylor will be a Skin by Wednesday I would think.
Why? Why would he want to go from a team with no shot at the Super Bowl to another team with no shot of making the Super Bowl? Now if Dallas was interested in him...To the OP: With less of a pass rush, and they already lost Sean Taylor last season, I have to think the Skins are goin to be suspect against the pass. When teams can score quickly, it usually means the team with the suspect secondary or pass defense, the offense of that team is on the field a lot...and playing from behind...I just mention this as a possiblity but its the first thing I think of when defenses sustain large hits at the DE/DB positions.

Wash is a playoff caliber team. How exactly do they have no shot at the SB?

They didn't rely upon Daniels to pass rush from the LDE spot. He was a run stopper for them who, more often than not, came out of the game during passing downs. Demetric Evans tended to rush from that spot on passing downs, and he actually may be a decent IDP FA pickup at the moment.

They aren't the best team in their division...may not be the 2nd best team in the division, perhaps not the 3rd either...how exactly are they making the SB?

This guy is hardly important as an IDP player, so I don't get all the fuss from a FF perspective.

He was just OK - not great - and now the door is wide open for Erasmus James' last shot.

They were the 3rd best team in that division last year and made the playoffs. Any team who gets invited to the dance has a chance.

He's surprisingly correct. The Skins might be the WORST team in their division. They are a mess. They hired an OC, then couldn't find a HC so just promoted him on the spot. *lol* So lets figure this out. Lost their OC, HC, DC. Lost their best player. Really need a pair of rookie WRs to step up or the offense will be very questionable. Defense is in flux. They are worst then Dallas. Worse then the Giants. About equal with Philly. Shot at SB? Slim to none. 1st year offense. 1st year defense. QB learning another offense. Zorn? Come on. Will be a modern day miracle if they go 8-8. JT wants none of that mess.

If the Skins can't stop the pass, isn't that bad news for Portis? Or at least for his rushing totals?

Why? Dallas is clearly better and the Giants are pretty solid...no chance the Eagles bounce back? The Skins have a new coach(how many new coaches make the palyoffs their 1st year), new offense, lot of new players, I'll take bets on the SKins making the Super Bowl...anyone want to bet? I thought not...Sorry to be such a snide in this but seriously have to question how folks would see the Skins as a SB team...no place that Jason Taylor would want to be.

Now we're thinking...I would counter that with the fact he would likely catch more balls in a WCO...so he might be just as good, but you bring up excellent points. If Daniels was not that big of a player for them, it's a non issue, but that isn't the way this is being laid out.

Does Taylor have some sort of no-trade clause? If not, why are we talking about what Taylor wants?

??? He could just retire if he didn't like the situation, guy has a ton of money and is only playing for the ring at this point. Why would a team try and trade for him if he doesn't want to go...remember TO and Baltimore?

I think it came off as "dumb" because much of the same could be said about the Giants last year. The Skins clearly have talent, they're certainly not SB favorites, but they're a decent team. I wouldn't be surprised if the skins went 5-11, nor would I be surprised if they went 11-5. I don't really think anyone knows what kind effect Zorn will have on this team. From a fantasy perspective, if Jason Taylor were to go to DC, I'd have to say bump Andre Carter up on your IDP boards.

If they were in a different division, I'd give them a far better chance. It's not like they're in the NFC West.
Its already been said, but who thought the Giants were destined to be Super Bowl champs this time last year? Matter of fact, who thought the Giants were destined to be Super Bowl champs last November?

Normally teams with bad defenses like to control the clock by running the ball more.I'm just sayin'.

from Jason Taylor's press conference today
Taylor said that his statements in June that he we would play just one more season, but said he will in fact play out the two years left on his contract. "I'll be here for more than one year, God-willing, unless something bad happens (health-wise)," Taylor said. "I'm here to play ball, and play ball as long as I can."

While making it clear this offseason that he is very interested in future pursuit in entertainment, Taylor said "Dancing With The Stars" is far from his mind, now. "It's football season; there is no entertain business stuff right now. There is no dancing."

Taylor said he is cool with playing on the left side - moving from right end - and has done it in the past. "While it will be different from what I've done the majority of my career, I have done plenty of it," Taylor said, "and had some success over there, too ... We'll find a way to do it very well."

Not only is it a place Jason Taylor wants to be...it's proven that teams with new coaches do well their first season. It's the second season that coaches (new) stuggle with maintaining or improving. It's not like they weren't a playoff team last year and they had massive OL injuries. Of course, they also lost their BEST player on D too. RIP ST!
