Phrases/terms that need to be retired immediately (4 Viewers)

Not every sporting event requires everyone to yell, Lets Go!!!!!
I can almost forgive players since they actually have influence on the outcome but every fan seems to be yelling it after every score.
I complained about the overuse of this phrase some time ago. Please repeat as needed.
I just saw a tweet saying that during a mound visit in the ninth inning of the last Mets Phillies game, Diaz kept saying "Lets go, let's go!" Lindor told him " stop saying let's go. Just do it!"

"Tuddy" = touchdown?

Stop.

Ribbie = RBI in baseball.

Ohtani had two homers and 5 ribbies on the day...
Nothing wrong with this. It has been around forever and is just fine.
I'm fine with Ribbie, like you said it's been around since I was a kid. But just because tuddy is new, it's a hated term? I don't see much difference between the two.

And tuddy is better than it being called a tiddie...
And for maximum cringe, there's Hotty Toddy.

Natty - short for National Championship.

Stop it.

Bet - is now used to say “ok” instead of simply saying “ok”

WTF

Also, it is not Chip it is Ship for Championship

Yeah, I don't love either, but it's been going on for years and will continue.

Anyone remember the "nicknames" explanation that Frazier (or Niles ...I watched in and out) talked about and how they evolved?

wayyy before that - snl had Bruce Willis on and some skit had him as the high school "cool" guy that seemed to designate the "hip new" phrases to be used that year (really perfectly nailed it)
He said the NEW WORD for senior year for lame ...was "bucket".

something is crappy = lame

lame = something pale

pale = sounds the same as pail

pail = bucket

When referring to other people's children:

crotchfruit
spawn

These piss me off. Refer to people as people.

Found a quote from last night's game, talking about Flaherty's performance
“He's got an aura about him,” said Dodgers catcher Will Smith. “He's got intensity about him. He's had a great year, obviously had great years in the past, and we're fortunate he's pitching for us in the postseason and giving us shutties.”

I like to find out what slang the kids are using and then ask my kids about it and then either use outdated slang or use it improperly

Latest was “dog water” = sucks or something like that

I do the same, in fact I just asked my teenagers about "bet" and they said that was kinda old but some still use it.

I can't tell if this is satire or not... but I approve of crotchfruit. I don't have an issue with spawn either, but it's not as good.

Yes, I could also appreciate these terms ... especially if said children are misbehaving, disrespectful, loud, and annoying.

If you are angry enough with your kids, you could always expand on it by personalizing. Starting with the oldest, Crotchfruit #1, Crotchfruit #2, Crotchfruit #3...

Everybody is talking about......

It takes just one exception to defeat that phrase. Since I am not talking about it, that phrase is therefore false.

"wow, just wow"

Does anyone say this in real life? Seems to be only used in response to posts on the "internet". And it's dumb...
