The Denver passing game was decent last year --

Plummer: 3366 YD/ 18 TD / 7 INT

do we see this going up or down next year. the changes:

minus:

Mike Anderson to BAL

add:

Javon Walker

1st rnd QB, Jay Cutner

2nd rnd TE, Scheffler

4th rnd WR, Brandon Marshall

although Shanny will utilize the rushing game still it seems that there have been some big strides to help out the passing game.

how do you think the situation will change in '06? are we in for a big passing game for the broncos?

Just from a strength of schedule point of view, I see Denver's numbers improving. Adding Walker gives another nice little boost. I think the INT numbers will go up a bit, but I also expect the yardage numbers to go up a bit.

I'd guess 3700 yards, 22 TDs, and 13 INTs... but that's really just a vague guess based on nothing more than my "gut feeling", and as a result, really don't carry that much worth.

right now, I have plummer at 3500 yds, 22 TD's and 13 int's. I think SSOG has a good handle on this.

The biggest issues in the NFC West according to Profootballweekly are the secondaries.....

The biggest issues lately in the AFW West have been the secondaries....

Hmmmmm.....

Don't expect much impact from Marshall this year. Even if he is a stud-in-training, he's still a rook at a position with a very steep learning curve, and he's got R Smith & Walker in front of him.Last year the numbers were:

Plummer: 3366 YD/ 18 TD / 7 INT

The year before the numbers were:

4089 YD / 27 TD / 20 INT

Which season would you call more successful for DEN: 2005 or 2004?

Shanahan is a run-first coach. Always has been. He also knows that he's got to limit Plummer or he's going to get the old/bad gunslinger Jake back instead of the new/good efficient Jake.

With the addition of Walker there ought to be more opportunity to take advantage of mismatches by either Walker or Smith in the passing game, but Smith's age is slowly starting to creep up on him.

I'd say that if you'd get 3500 YD / 22 TD / 10 INT that Plummer & DEN will have had a very good year. I sure wouldn't expect too much more.
