Preseason Game Observations (1 Viewer)

I'll bet the Jets wish they'd kept Tebow. The Pats can't release him now. Bill isn't stupid... he would instantly be the Jets' best QB.
2/10
 Which part am I wrong about?
The part where you said instantly. It would take at least five minutes to figure out Tebow is QB#1.
Maybe.
Tim Tebow wouldn't start on my flag football team.

Sanchez is and always will be better than Tebow. Sanchez stinks for sure, but Tebow can not throw the ball. The Jets are going to suck anyway, but they did have Tebow ALL last year and he rarely ever saw the field as a QB. They have already shown what they think of his QB skills, he has not gotten better, unfortunately for the Jets it doesn't look like Sanchez has either. I hope they are stuck with Smith starting, they will be lucky to ever score. They deserve it for putting Sanchez out there when they did, I don't wish injury on him, but it will serve Rex right for being an idiot.

More than likely a QB or two will get dumped here soon and that may be their only shot is to bring in someone else's trash if Sanchez is in fact badly injured. I really think he was already hurt before fatty slam danced him, the play before he got slammed on his shoulder and he was already acting hurt.

Tebow isn't suited for the offense the Jets are currently running, and they evidently didn't want to tailor an offense to his skills like Denver did the season before. But even if Sanchez is better, he doesn't have the skill position players who will make him look better than he is. So it's a horrible situation all around.

Lol , Anybody who wants to pretend Tebow is a good QB because he can run the football is a POOR judge of QB's. He can't hit a WR more than 15 yards down field.

You want to run the ball, play HB and let a real QB pass the ball.

I agree, the Jets are a flaming pile of poo right now and Rex just stomped it out with his bare feet.

But we're only pretending.

Payton Manning is going to pass until his arm falls off. 34 passes in one half of football. The run game can only improve from here, but that's not saying much right now. Payton's arm strength is better than last year and is looking good. He is going to have a huge year....it wouldn't surprise me if he is the top QB this year.

I think I'd take him over Rodgers.

Why is Tebow still being discussed? Wow.

So I have a rookie draft starting tomorrow, looks like these Thompkins and Sudfeld fellas may have jumped into the late 1st round. Maybe not Sudfeld except for league where TEs get 1.25 or 1.5 PPR.

Anyone agree?? Not saying I would take either, I just think they will both go around there.

It's not even worth debating with someone who thinks Tebow isn't a better option than the slop they have now.
Are you pretending last year never happened? They were starting McElroy over him.
In a traditional offense, Tebow blows. However, you can't argue that Denver was able to tailor an offense for Tebow and led them to the playoffs and even an upset win over the Steelers. At this point the Jets offense would improve their chances of winning simply by not turning the ball over so much. It isnt that the offense is ineffective, it is actually a detriment to their defense.

Any word on Mendenhall? Out with possible knee injury....
WHAAAA?
Rashard Mendenhall left Saturday's preseason game with a right knee injury.
Mendenhall suffered the injury in the first-half and was unable to return. He had been running well prior to getting hurt, racking up 47 yards on just six carries. The severity of the setback isn't yet known, but Mendenhall was seen walking around on the sideline. The Cardinals should provide an update on his status after the game.

still at cards game for some reason. Ryan Williams decided to make an appearance. no surprise he's playing behind both alfonso smith and stephan Taylor.

unless mendenhall injury is severe, likely longshot he makes team. imagine they'll keep Andre ellington as rb4 with special teams appeal

Glad I bought the Housler hype. His updated preseason totals:

1 catch

1 drop in the end zone

1 ankle injury

:wall:

He's looking like the first guy you cut to make room for a week 1 free agent.

Hell, can anyone remember the last time the Cardinals had a TE (fantasy -or- reality) who was worth a damn? TE is a black hole for that franchise. You may have to go back to Jackie Smith in the 60s, and sadly, I'm not kidding.

Not sure what history has to do with anything when you have new coaches and players.

I was never high on Housler, but he definitely has potential with Palmer there.

Not sure why anyone was buying the Housler hype TBH. Fourth option in a not that great pass offense - not all that exciting.

I'd be wary of relying on Vincent Brown as anything more than a WR4 too - I know he's everyone's favourite breakout WR and it's only preseason, but it's hard to see this SD passing game supporting a truly relevant fantasy WR this year.

Larry Centers.

Seriously, though, Freddie Jones wasn't terrible for a year or two.
