I thought Flynn did a good job given the state of the his pass protection. I rather have my QB take a sack then turnover the ball. The TD pass to D. Moore was perfectly placed.
I was disappointed in the Vikings pass protection and lack of execution. Buffalo defense looked very much improved over the Dave Wannstedt version. They were dialling up blitzes and the Vikings did not have any answers. IMO, Cassel looked worse than Ponder. I would like to see them move MBT in the rotation to see what he can do with the #2s.

Yeah, forgot to mention Cameron. He looks like he could be in the Graham/Gronk conversation soon if he continues to put it all together. Just dominant.

No that guy doesn't. Bad guess. He was in before most backup would be in and he wasn't that bad for a rookie giving I just watched Matt Barkley vs the same defense. He made one stupid throw, like he always does, that he might have completed in a college game that went for a pick 6. He also delt with a few drops that MW and VJax would have hauled in routinely. Freeman's days are numbered. Grooming Glennon seems inevitable.

To be fair i didn't see that much of the game but what i saw wasn't that impressive. But either way, saying he was in before most backups is totally irrelevant. Every coach has a different philosophy on preseason. Kaepernick only threw two passes - does that mean Colt McCoy's being groomed to the fullest?

Random observations after 2 games:
As mentioned previously, J.Gordon looks to be Weeden's favorite target.
A.Fasano may be startable in ppr, te mandatory leagues.
A.Gates will lead the SD "receivers" in targets if he is not asked to protect more.
Olsen may not be as involved as he was least year (new oc this year)--ginn and lafell each had 3 targets, yeah, ok.

Ridley and Vereen will be the most consistent fantasy producers for NE outside of Brady (at least until Gronk returns). Book it.Completely agree. Even with Ridley I could see him getting 25 carries one week and 6 the next depending on the gameplan and how the other guys are performing.

What about Peyton Hillis? Not so sure it wouldnt be close to an even split between him and James.
I think whoever it is would have pretty good value if Martin were to miss time, and they havent been discussed at all really as draft options.

So what was holding this guy back his first 2 years? Just Ben Watson? I like what Ive seen but based on expectations this year I dont understand why he wasnt more productive his first couple years considering CLE other receiving options, or lack thereof.

This. He probably had the best rookie QB performance that I've seen so far. He was challenging the defense all over the field. That's a completely different situation in SF like you stated but ok.

A very valid point. He hasn't looked overwhelming...but it seems that he COULD be poised for a breakout. I think this is interesting (from wikipedia)...
So he played very well his senior year of high school. Then choose basketball in college. Transferred to USC and only played his senior year and then only caught 16 passes. He impressed at the combine and was selected 102nd overall.
So coming into the NFL, he'd made a total of 16 catches as a TE in his entire career. To your point, he's only recorded 26 catches in his NFL career (6 as a rookie and 20 last year).
...but I think if ever you were going to give a guy a pass in terms of "why didn't he produce more?!?!" it would be a guy like Cameron who had very little experience upon entering the league.
Jimmy Graham only played football his last year of eligibility at Miami and finished with 17 catches. He had 31 receptions as a rookie and then exploded with 99 in his 2nd year. I think one could argue that he is an elite athlete and having Brees as a QB certainly helps any receiver.
Cameron is certainly no lock to be a Jimmy Graham. But this will be his 1st year as the "go-to-guy" at TE at any level. I have no idea how it'll end up. But I think you can make the case, based off his physical ability and how he's looked thus far in preseason, that he could move into the discussion of top 6 TEs by the end of the year...and that's with Weeden as his QB.

Just off memory, but concussions. I recall Cameron having lots of injuries, but head injuries in particular. Watson is a big part of it too, as Cameron was used in the redzone only for awhile. But I think durability has been as much a problem as playing time.

Yeah, being void of skill position players is a good thing for Vereen; it's not a knock on him. Honestly, I'm scooping up Vereen everywhere in PPR as a flex.Ridley and Vereen will be the most consistent fantasy producers for NE outside of Brady (at least until Gronk returns). Book it.

Mendenhall is going to be getting a lot of touches for AZ this year. If you end up going QB or WR heavy early, there could be worse options as your RB2 in the 6th round.

Can't watch the game - at work - so watching the gamecast. Two things stand out to me:
Passing stats look good for Arizona. As a Fitz owner - do the stats tell the story? Is Fitz looking good with Palmer?
Second - Gamecast lists the temp at 111 degrees. Good God. I know it's a "dry" heat, but that might be the hottest temp I've ever seen listed for a game.

Fitz and Palmer seem to be clicking well. Fitz has made some really nice catches in traffic. Palmer looks comfortably throwing to him. Probably the only bright spot thus far for their O. The running game has struggled as has the oline. Roberts looks better than Floyd to me but clearly Fitz has been the man.

Fitz and Palmer do seem to have a nice connection going. But there are some throws from Palmer that just don't look good. Dez is an animal even if he just fumbled.
They play inside and it's 78 in the dome.

I'm not a Cardinal's homer, but I'd like to see Fitz succeed. Not just because I have him. Seems like an old school good guy. I hope Palmer gets Fitz back near the top this year.

FItzgerald is generally seen as a hardworker, team player, who isn't a #######, who helps other WR's to the best of his ability.

Does anyone play in IDP leagues on yahoo? Im wondering if Patrick Peterson's production on offense would translate to his points each week. Seems like he is going to see a fair amount of snaps on offense.

Obviously its second string on both sides, but Kerry Taylor is getting some really nice separation. If only his QB doesn't overthrow him in the redzone...
Also, the Cowboys running game has broken a few big plays already. They need to not put the ball on the ground when they do it, but neither Murray and Dunbar have not looked bad.
Finally, do you think these two teams will get to double digit turnovers before the half?

Who did Bryant beat on the catch? I turned it off before. One of the things I wanted to see most in this game was Dez vs. PP. PP had him locked up nice early on.

This is what happens when I edit part of the sentence but not the whole thing. Sorry.
That should have read: Neither Murry nor Dunbar looked bad when they ran. Murry was punching it up the middle for decent gains, scored a first down, etc. Dunbar is super fast if he gets some space. These things bode well for all Cowboys skilled players.

I'm on board the Dunbar train as a nice COP guy who could carve out a Sproles-lite kind of role in that offense. Like his measurables fairly well and he sure looks fizzy on the field.
