Forte looks so different than any time I can remember. I would not be shocked if he had his career season this year.
If it's a fraternity belching contest, not so good.is playing like an ogre a good thing or bad?Forte playing like an ogre this preseason

He's flashing the way Henderson/Meachem/Morgan flashed.Stills is flashing. I'm surprised there isn't more buzz honestly. He straight up dusted Jonathon Joseph and had about 5 yards separation for the TD.I would pay attention to both in dynasty. Toon is being groomed for Colston's role, Stills for Moore's role. The injury to Joe Morgan and departure of Devery Henderson opened the door for one to get a lot of playing time this season as the 3rd WR and it looks like that will be Stills. Couple of great catches today. Kid looks really polished for a 21 year old.Should we start paying serious attention here to either Toon or Stills? They have both flashed a lot of potential. Or does this all become just another preseason memory when Colston starts playing? In place of Colston.Toon started the game. What's NO's WR rotation like? Who started? I see that Toon has already gotten some action.
I think Lance Moore was so late to emerge in his career people think he is young. He will be 30 August 31st and is owed zero dead money after this year.
Easy to flash when defenses aren't scheming in the pre-season and you have Brees throwing you the ball. He's a good flier, but let's be realistic... he's just a flier. I would be shocked if he produces more than Lance this season. He's flashing the way Henderson/Meachem/Morgan flashed.Stills is flashing. I'm surprised there isn't more buzz honestly. Was at the game. He was in early with Eli. I think he had a target but there was miscommunication. He looked much better against the 2nd stringers. Was Jernigan the first slot option in the game, for the NYG? Did he play with Eli? Thanks.
Thanks. He's a guy I liked at Troy. Was hoping he'd have a chance to earn a top 4 WR spot, and be the main backup to Cruz in the slot. Was at the game. He was in early with Eli. McCown was in with the 1st team for Stills 40 yard catch and 14 yard TD against probowler Johnathon JosephEasy to flash when defenses aren't scheming in the pre-season and you have Brees throwing you the ball. I was referring mostly for dynasty purposes. Then again, I can almost guarantee he will pop up on the redraft radar considering the randomness of Saints offense and Moore + Colston's tendency to get nicked up. I was never a Meachem, Henderson, Morgan fan largely because of the randomness and multiple weapons. I just think Stills has the skillset to be a more consistent part of the offense.
I wouldn't argue if you said any one of those top four were the worst, I think it is Sanchez, then Ponder. That is how I was leaning also, that is a rough situation to be in. His best chance may be to get out of NY and start over.I prefer Sanchez and its not that close.Points well taken, but do you think Ponder is better than Sanchez?1) some ppl here think Geno has earned the starter job2) Cumberpatch is being taken in the 16th round of fantasy draftsYou really think Sanchez is worse than Ponder? Ponder has AP, a very good TE, he had Harvin last year, Jennings now, Sanchez has ummm Cumberpatch and Santonio "I don't want to play here" Holmes and Stephen Hill who actually has hands made of stone. I am not saying I agree or disagree, just saying there is room for debate on that.I think the Jets have the worst starter in the league, assuming it is Sanchez. Who is next, Ponder, Flynn or Gabbert? I think it is Ponder because he actually has weapons around him, Flynn doesn't
well, he shouldn't have given up inside position. Here is Stills 40 yard catch. Notice Brees on the sidelines getting in his face.

I tend to agree with this. We always get excited about the new guy, and dynasty feeds that flame. Stills is a good upside player to own in Dynasty and a guy to watch in regular fantasy, but unless Moore is injured, he will be the second leading WR this season. Brees loves Moore.Easy to flash when defenses aren't scheming in the pre-season and you have Brees throwing you the ball. He's a good flier, but let's be realistic... he's just a flier. Sorry, but the video shows pretty much the opposite of what you described: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000234132/Thomas-turns-short-pass-into-51-yard-touchdownJuzaba said:He broke a single dump-off for 50+ yards and a TD late in the second half, and I don't think you're going to be able to count on that. 1) Early 2nd qtr, not late 2nd half
2) Not a broken play, looks like Brees was locked into him from the get go. He was in the right place, though
3) Nobody blocked for him, and no defender "missed". Solid stiff arm took care of one defender, and the second was juked out of his boots.
Not sure what you were watching, but PT looked darn good on this play. I've been targeting him late in drafts, as he has been going ~4 rounds later than Ingram in the RD12 and up range. Saints will score a lot of points, and I think PT will get a ton of touches.
Pierre is Pierre. His problem is the number of touches. He's always going to have value, especially in PPR, but in all likelhood he's nothing more than a handcuff or bye week filler on most FF teams. I say all of this as a huge PT fan and former owner.Sorry, but the video shows pretty much the opposite of what you described: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000234132/Thomas-turns-short-pass-into-51-yard-touchdownJuzaba said:He broke a single dump-off for 50+ yards and a TD late in the second half, and I don't think you're going to be able to count on that. He's a fantastic player. Anything negative is likely coming from an Ingram dynasty owner or someone who acquired Ingram in a recent draft hoping this season is the "breakout." Ingram had a couple very nice plays against the Texans - one was a nice screen and run (something he has never really done much of before effectively) and the other was a bursting run up the middle for a long gain, also something he has not done much of. The complaint on teh run though was that he missed the cut whereby he could have maybe taken it the distance. He's a fantastic player. Thanks for posting the video. Yeah, my memory is not much like what actually happened. I'd still say the defender missed that tackle though. Should have been an easy wrap-around, instead I don't know what was going on. I still stand by that this was fluky and that Thomas, while talented, is not fantasy-viable outside of very deep leagues or injuries.Sorry, but the video shows pretty much the opposite of what you described: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000234132/Thomas-turns-short-pass-into-51-yard-touchdownJuzaba said:He broke a single dump-off for 50+ yards and a TD late in the second half, and I don't think you're going to be able to count on that. and the 2008 Detriot Lions were 8th in preseason defense.I thought you guys might be interested in this, rankings through the first 3 weeks of the preseason.
I'm happy my Saints are in at no. 11 in total defense.
Philly in at No. 2 in total offense I notice, which is interesting. I believe the Eagles being there is something, I know the Jets being there at no. 4 is nothing.

I am sorry to have to tell you that preseason team stats are totally useless.
It seems like the Denver,Arizona and Pitt backfield situations are still up in the air.Any interesting storylines/position battles to keep an eye on this week? Pryor, obviously. What else?
Preseason W4 is typically a snoozer.

Well...sort of. Bell is now running with the 1s at Broncos practice after Hillman fumbled...again. "organization" is misused. There is nothing organized about what's happening there. I am beginning to think Rex has pictures of...something (besides the ones of feet) - most coaches would have been long gone.True on all accounts, just trying to find something, it seems like those are the highest profile spots that still have some level of uncertainty.Well...sort of. No - you're right - all of those are the closest things to being actual stories. The Bell thing just came up today, and the Mendenhall updates have been fuzzy at best, and I guess SOMEONE has to run the ball for Pitt until Bell comes back. Shark Pool says there is no such thing as being injury prone, so draft him with confidence. He's no more likely to get injured than Chris Johnson is.Ryan Matthews- I said never again. No way. Fool me twice.... Well, Matthews is looking good. Running hard, showing burst, and staying healthy. Certainly not back in the top ten, but a viable RB2 again.
This is great. You know a player is a huge risk when it is considered an accomplishment that he has stayed healthy through the third week of preseason games.

If you go with the wisdom of the crowd based on what they do, then you shouldn't draft Mathews any higher than RB3 in the 4-5th round.
