Prince Dead at 57 R.I.P. (1 Viewer)

Well this sucks.  Supposedly he has tons of recordings that he instructed to be destroyed after his death. :(

THey just reported on Channel 5 here that he performed on Saturday.. Just one or two songs, but at that point was still able to perform :(

My favorite prince story was from last years 50th anniversary snl after party.  Tons of people were going up to join the band for a few songs. Timberlake, jay z, Paul Simon, McCartney.  The party stretched on into the night.  Then prince took the stage for a couple songs and the party ended.  Even with all those other people singing, he was the alpha dog of the night.  Rip 

 
Damn... RIP.  I was a big fan of his when he first came out, lots of great memories from his music.

My wife grew up a few miles from Chanhassen and just sent me a text. This will be a big deal to the music industry, but even a bigger deal to the people in Minnesota.  Prince may be the most popular celebrity ever from their state.

 
This is really weird.  About a week ago the wife and I were sitting around having a few drinks and watch old 80s music videos.  "Remember that one?"  "Oh, I haven't thought about that video in years".  Somehow we ended up watching "Purple Rain" on demand.

While I was watching it I came up with a theory that I think is pretty solid.   Prince was gay and really didn't like women...and not just sexually.  

 
Not a huge fan but "Diamonds and Pearls" is one of my all time fave songs.  Too bad it's impossible to find on Spotify or Youtube

Haven't heard it in years but it is in the upper elite tier of songs for me

The dude put on one helluva concert back in the day.    Underrated guitar player I think.

He gets very little credit for it, but anyone who knows/plays guitar, he was one of the slickest.

Not only that, I remember reading played all 30 or so instruments on some of his albums. arranged and everything. That's insanity

 
All the great ones are going.  Lemmy, then Bowie, now Prince.  The age of rock stars is over.  

This really sucks.

 
Prince and his protégé Vanity die at the same age, in the same year, only months apart. wild.
