**Let me preface my post by saying I know delivery pizza is better as is making it fresh yourself. I know this. This thread is about frozen pizza and we already know many of you wouldn't dare buy one because you have the greatest pizza place in the world right around the corner or you make your own dough from scratch and cook it in your $900 pizza oven. We got it. Thank you and you're the best.**

Yesterday we decided to be lazy for the Super Bowl and hit the Whole Foods before the game for some chips, dips, and frozen snacks. I’m not a big frozen pizza guy because honestly most of them are lousy, but yesterday I enjoyed what I’d call the best frozen pizza I’ve ever had. Dare I say it was restaurant quality and actually delicious. Here’s what we got:

We grabbed two since they were on sale for $8 each and they were phenomenal. If I didn’t know better I wouldn’t have guessed it was frozen. We crushed both over the course of the game and I’m heading back to Whole Foods later this week to stock up while they’re still on sale. Thank you Porta for making such a delicious frozen pizza. Somebody finally got it right. I’m not a paid spokesman just someone who finally found a frozen pizza worth talking about. Has anyone else tried it? Would love to hear your thoughts.
 
Have both Whole Foods and Sprouts, will definitely try this

-While the following morning is sometimes not worth it, I do enjoy the taste of the Home Run Inn as long as it is well well done, usually cut it into squares
 
Hmmmm. My go to has been Screamin Sicilian holy pepperoni.

I unwrap it and then take all the pepperoni off. I thin slice and sauté some roma tomatoes with garlic and pepper and make a layer of them across the cheese. Then I thinly slice white mushrooms and make a layer of them. I put the pepperoni back on as the top layer. I broil for a few minutes to get the pepperoni started so it ends up super crispy when you follow the regular baking instructions. Then sprinkle with parm out of the oven.

It looks like they make 4 different pizzas. We only had the Margherita pizza that I linked. I cannot vouch for the other ones they make but I'd guess they'd be great. I'm going to try some of those others at some point.
 
We have both Whole Foods and sprouts but they are both less convenient than Trader Joe’s and Safeway.

We’ll keep either dough or a frozen on hand for quick easy meals. I’ll give it a try if I am near wf or sprouts

Have not seen those, but will try. The Whole Foods inhouse take-and-bakes are my usual go-to. Also, I've never been disappointed with the Roncadin varieties at Costco.

We have had RAO's before and have been underwhelmed, especially by the dough/crust. I think you'll find Porta superior. Same price point. On sale until Wednesday I think.
 
We are a busy family, so some where between 2 and 4 times a month frozen pizza is a quick meal. Our go to is Costco pepperoni or tombstone French bread.

I am willing to try it, but I am not sure I can get the rest of the family to try it because it doesn't look good.

My wife does once in a while. And then I eventually throw them away months later when I clean out the freezer and find them unopened but freezer burnt.

Also, and in the spirit of Willie's *preface*, we still have the likely inspiration for Stouffer's in our town, though it's now a local deli that makes it instead of a food truck. Hot Truck's PMP is worlds better than the frozen stuff.

This. Kinda surprised at the frozen pizza snobs. Ha ha. Nothing wrong with a frozen pizza. Quick and easy. We have always kept frozen pizzas in the freezer for kids and their friends. Although I haven't tried them all, the Costco pack is a staple in our freezer. Thinner crust and just a great frozen pizza.

On a side note. Please be kind. In my 20s while single, the Totinos combination was a staple in my diet. Haven't had one in years but they always did me well.
 
Just for clarity, if you guys like the Newman's or Trader joes or Tombstone, this one is not really like those. This is more like if you went out for a personal wood fired artisanal pizza. It's a little more bougie than those others. There's a little char on the crust. Nothing wrong with those other ones but don't expect this one to taste like those. This does not have that mass produced tasting crust/dough. I hope I'm not over promising here and I'm sure some will not love it but it really kind of blew me away. Hope at least some like it as much as I did.
 
seems like it might be hard to cut it like that instead of a pizza roller and unsanitary unless you have a seperate pair of kitchen scissors.
 
I miss Jack’s Naturally Rising pizza. They don’t sell them in FL. Their other pizzas are garbage, but love the naturally rising variety.
 
We had a super-local place that used to sell at ShopRite in town. It was called Pizzatini, based out of Ringoes NJ. Thin, crispy crust and Cheese only. I used to add pepperoni and it was freaking awesome. As best I can tell, the place closed up shop and doesn't make them anymore. I miss those things.

Yeah, I just came to post this and I think (most of the time, depending on mood) that I would put Motor City first for frozen pizza.

Honorable mentions:

1.) Buddy's pizza - this is Detroit style (and we ate this in Detroit, honestly, it tastes the same) and the cons are that it's small, expensive, sweet and some people (legit) hate it while others love it.

2.) Heggie's sausage and pepperoni pizza - this one is a very good one imho and if you don't like this pizza then you hate America, I don't know what else to say and I can't help you. But, seriously, if you don't like this then you need to do some soul searching and ask yourself if you actually even like pizza.

3.) Giordano's Chicago style - if you don't like Chicago style this one is not for you. If you are a New York style pizza snob jerk, we can't be friends because I like both equally. I'm sorry but the world is big enough for all types of pizza. Jon Stewart's stupid rant is horrible, my brain became dumber after listening to that garbage take even though everyone said that was an impossibility, yet here we are. . . here we are.

4.) Screamin' Sicilian - to me, this is one is the OG. This was the first frozen pizza I ever had that I thought "wow, I didn't flush $8.00 down the drain, amazing" but, the thing about it is is that I do think Motor City, Buddy's, Heggie's and Giordano's are just a bit better.

5.) Kirkland Cauliflower Crust Pizza & Milton Cauliflower Crust - okay, okay, this is pizza for people that both hate delicious real pizza and America at the same time, this one's for you. . . j/k I love America and still enjoy this except we only get the sausage and pepperoni so I only eat this when I'm mad at America and hungry and all the good pizza is gone.

6.) California Pizza Kitchen - I mean, it's idiotically expensive not very filling because it's incredibly thin skinned. . . I mean thin crust and honestly a horrible value but despite that, when I'm eating it, I know I'm eating the most expensive, least fulfilling pizza yet the pizza (whispering in my ear, I know, it's odd) insists that it's vastly superior than other pizza's around it that are clearly much, much better. . . I sense a theme with this pizza.

Dishonorable mention :

1.) Kirkland Pepperoni Pizza : Our son makes us buy this and I cannot stress this, quite literally, tastes like cheese, sauce and pepperoni on cardboard. I would rather eat my wife's typical dinner (raw broccoli, raw carrots, tomatoes and cottage cheese) over this. . . okay not really but I will eat this but I always do a double take hoping to get a slice of the actual cardboard box the pizza came in over this.
