Have a hard time understanding how Peter King's weekly column is evidence of me 'searching the internet' to find the outliers. I'm sure many people in this country both military and civilian find Kaepernick's protest deplorable. But I think sentiment is shifting as his actions are accompanied by well thought out, articulate reasoning as to why he's protesting. He is drawing attention to a current crisis in our country and I think you'll find as you go back to your friends or family over time that their attitudes towards him might change if they actually listen to what he has to say.
This is why I asked you to pose your question to men or women who have actually served our country. I don't have a finger on the pulse of active duty men and women; I only know what I read from people who served or serve like Zilla, Joe or others. Chastising them for having liberal beliefs is on you, man. "Yes, 3 posters on FBG (who also happen to be some of the most liberal posters here) def make a great poll." Talk about being disrespectful. You want me to ask conservative military people only about this because, what, their opinions are the only ones that matter here?
Just find this entire exchange pointless. You want to believe all active duty men and women hate Colin Kaepernick, fine, be my guest. You want to believe that I'm scouring the internet to find opposing viewpoints on this topic, there's no changing your mind. You want to bash the opinion of FBG vets or active duty servicemen because their opinions are liberal and don't jibe with the point you're trying to make, that's on you.
The people on this board and in this world who are butthurt over Colin Kaepernick's actions are probably the same people who would have dogpiled on Cassius Clay for protesting the Vietnam War by refusing to report to duty. In time, you'll see that most people come around on issues like this, or do you think there were still angry people with a pitchfork at the time Muhammad Ali died this year?
