Put the Trent Richardson pipe down! (1 Viewer)

I'm hoping some of you took my advice and traded this injury-prone, surgery-prone RB while he still had some value.

It's a rib injury, not a lower body injury. Selling TRich now would be dumber than this thread.
Agreed. That's why you should have sold him 2 weeks ago like I said. It's called selling high.
Lol at OP trying to save face. He is hurt, can't fault him for that. He will remain stud status when healthy.

Surgery prone? You asked me to rejoin you on the board. Well I am here. What do you have to say besides using terms like "surgery prone". What was your advice? This rookie is the 4th ranked RB in my league. Oh and another rookie is ranked 8th. Keep dazzling us with your knowledge.Trent Richardson rushed 25 times for 105 yards in the Browns' Week 9 loss to the Ravens.Analysis: Richardson got every single carry for the Browns, setting a career-high in rushes in the process. He also added six catches for 31 yards, giving him an impressive 31 grabs through nine games. The rookie has proven he's over his rib injury over the last two weeks by posting back-to-back 100-yard games and averaging 4.63 YPC in the process. Richardson will be a RB1 when the Browns come out of their bye against the Cowboys in Week 11.Oh and starting 2 rookies have led me to a 1 loss season so far. Keep that advice coming. :lmao:

PROTIP: TRich is an amazing talent and I'm glad I was able to lower his value enough to trade for him in several leagues. I'm now his biggest fan and expect not only great things out of him, but lots of $$$$ too.

This is how sharks work. Welcome to the big leagues buddy.

Thanks for your help in bumping the thread and making this all possible. If we ever meet up I'd be glad to buy you a drink.

Cheers!

See what he did there? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:goodposting: So, either GnG is a complete idiot or a complete ######. Either way, the SP would be a better place without his ilk.

Its cheap the way this OP came back thumping his chest after an injury to try and save face.

From Cleveland head coach Pat Shurmur's recent press conference>>

(On Trent Richardson saying we will see a different Richardson when he gets to 100% and if he sees what he is talking about)– "That's awesome. I see a young man that's a rookie fighting through an NFL season and sometimes that deals with playing with injuries, soreness what have you. I see a guy that realizes that he physically can get a little better and he knows that will help his performance so that's good. I hope he gets better."

Trent isn't 100% so we haven't yet seen the best of Trent Richardson yet what we've seen has been better than most starting NFL RBs. Just think of when he really blows up and has a great game?

The OP can put his crack pipe down.

TRich was overreated last year and became even more overrated this year as the consensus was to take him as a top 5-10 pick overall in redrafts somehow?

After 1 game? Really??

He had more yards from scrimmage than D. Martin, Gore, Spiller, and R. Rice. Those guys should all be cut too?

You're right though - 1 game tells us a TON. I am sure R. Bush and J. Bell will finish as RB2 & 3 - and Brian Hartline and J. Edelmen will both finish in the top 10 at WR.

He's just not as good as i thought he'd be. I really thought he was going to be the next AD but he just doesn't look like a supreme talent out there at the nfl level.

15 touches people. 5 carries 26 yards first drive. then old norv decided it would be a good idead for brandon wheedon to chuck the ball 59 times. don't think this will happen again anytime soon.

though baltimore has a good run defense. so might be a good buy low candidate going into week 3

Richardson looked fine.

The offensive strategy got away from them yesterday. I'd be stunned if Weeden has anywhere close to that number of attempts again.

After the awful display their receivers put on yesterday and the terrible job of pass blocking their line did, Richardson may blow up next week (even if it's Baltimore). I'd expect a lot of touches.

Let's not forget that they had to start Travis Benjamin, Davone Bess, and Little. Benjamin on the outside is not good. He is about as physical as Bess, only faster. When this offense has all of it's weapons, it actually looks pretty good, as we saw in the preseason. TRich, Gordon, Weeden, Cameron together? Much more lethal. On an unrelated note, for the people that drafted Gordon, this should make you feel even more comfortable that is legit. When team are missing their top weapon in the passing game, they look aweful. That was the case here.

Richardson will get it going, but when he is the only focus of the defense to start, and then the team abandons the run.....Well, you can guess what will happen. Weeden took his shots to Benjamin, and he could not do anything with them. When it's Gordon, he will make them pay for trying to stop Trent. This trio looks pretty good to me when they get together, and Little could even end up being a nice possession guy. He just can't be the #1

Oline probably needs a little time together also. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they lose someone in the preseason to injury?

Edit: I tried to watch this game yesterday, but I was not able. Just went back to game rewind to watch it. I have to say that I feel fine about Richardson. What I saw was a RB that was pressing the hole, and shrugging contact when he was able. He started that game with some great runs. Every time he could get something going, Weeden would turn it over. Although I have to say that Weeden was actually playing pretty well too. That line did neither of them any favors, and every time Weeden was able to make a positive play it seemed like it would be called back for penalty.

Richardson came out in the second half and was not given much opportunity, but when he did...he looked great. As best as I can tell, Richardson only earned 4 carries in the second half. Going for 17 yards, so not bad at all. Plus 2 catches for 30 yards. So he touched the ball 7 times in the second half and averaged over 7 yards each time he got the ball. I have to stress that this is not how you use a RB, and it is not his fault that he did not get the ball. However, when he did get it, he did well.

Richardson only played 14 more snaps than Ogbonnaya. How is that justifiable? Seems similar to the Battle/Brown getting snaps over Mathews. what have you done for us lately Norv?

Haha are you really surprised by that guys response? He was likely waiting ALL off season, praying TRich wouldn't produce week 1 so he could come back and bump this thread. Logic, maths and a whole slew of other things clearly escape this man. It doesn't get more pathetic then GreenNGold.

Yeah...I didn't get that...anytime I turned over to that game...Weeden was throwing...even after the early INTs...just kept throwing the ball.

After reviewing all the games I was extremely shocked to see how under utilized Richardson was. Even in the first half when it was still a ball game he was pulled on 3rd downs and in obvious passing situations. As noted above he only had 14 more snaps than Ogbonnaya.

I am not one to over react but if I am not mistaken he was huge in the passing game last year. If he no longer is in on third downs, what does this do to his fantasy value?

Trent looked good, fought for yards. I gotta see better o-line play, better decisions by Weedon and a more balanced game plan before I feel good about TRich. :tapsoutashes:

We had a lead heading into the 3rd quarter, but for some reason we had already abandoned the run and let Weeden throw 50 times............without Gordon even playing.

I am wondering if the new staff is just forcing a reason to bench Weeden. Having him throw 50 times without Gordon when he clearly wasn't "on" is a good way to make him look horrible.

I mean, I am not much of a conspiracy theorist........but either that is true, or the coaches really POOPED the bed in this game.

I'm just going to have to see it. He has had just one impact game in his short career. He's had some issues with the team around him, minor injuries and games getting out of hand, but he's never looked like an impact player as of yet. He's got an amazing line but while the other RB's have made the line look great his style has not allowed for the same results.

Trent Richardson says it was "kind of a shocker" that he wasn't used more on third down in Week 1.

Zero of Richardson's 15 touches came on third down. Backup Chris Ogbonnaya got the ball once on third down. OC Norval Turner hinted Richardson's missed practice time during the spring and summer was a factor. "There’s some things he’s ready to handle in that third down stuff and our nickel package and some things (Ogbonnaya’s) going to handle (for) a while," Turner said. "Trent missed some time obviously in camp and there’s some things we want to use him in there and we’re going to use him when we can." It was just one week, but it's a bit ominous the Browns are already having to explain away Richardson's lack of work.
You've been Norv'd.

Man is norv really going to do this? He has an elite talent at rb and he is gonna ruin it. Not blaming Mathews basically ruined career on him but I feel he had a big part in it. Everyone always says he is a rb genius cause l.t. Blah Tomlinson made norv look good not the other way around. I really am a huge fan of Richardson and hope that things get turned around he is a fun rb to watch play, has a true love for the game there's not many rbs in the league like that anymore!

Honestly, if this continues I would be shocked if Norv isn't one of the first coaches on the hotseat. I realize Cleveland pretty much is ungood - but you have to give your best player a chance to make a difference. The worse part is that Norv seems to somehow be trying to defend(and even suggesting it's going to continue) - the use of Ogbony. Is Norv really that clueless???

Trent does have a good line, but they really need some additional firepower on that team, and Weeden has to stop throwing picks.

Hopefully Josh Gordon will help things. The Browns got down and stopped relying on the run. I'd hold Richardson though. When you watch him run, there is nothing that is concerning. He just needs more carries. A bit silly to not get him the ball more. That being said, the coaches knew that Miami was going to key in on Richardson and give Weeden opportunities. Unfortunately for the coaching staff, Weeden couldn't get it done.

I'd like to start this off by apologizing for my previous tone throughout this entire thread. I have recently become aware that my tone and attitude as it comes across on the internet is completely unacceptable and I am working to change that. Even though my message was correct, my tone and negative attitude prevented any constructive discussion from taking place, and I hope to change that going forward. That being said, the general point of this thread is still true. Trich has never even come close to performing to his expectations, especially this year.

Don't buy into his hype next year (no an offseason is not going to make him a stud as he "learns the playbook", and if you currently have him on your team now, sell for anything more than you could get off the waiver wire, and if not, just drop him for anything available on the waiver wire.

Someone asked what action they are seeing for TRICH in trading now.

I saw, in a dynasty, a Zac Stacy straight up today (timing is everything).

I also saw a Trich and Stevie Johnson for Eddie Lacy.

I was told a TRICH for L. Bell was declined with the Bell owner asking for a 2nd.

I was offered TRICH and Maclin for Tate and Dobson in dynasty and I declined, FWIW.

I'm trying to sell him for Stevie Johnson myself. I don't know what else to do with him to be honest, he might have a breakout game but it's hard to trust him the rest of the season unless Brown has an injury.

Would be really interested to hear about any deals involving Richardson. Guess I'll head over to AC.
I have a deal on the table right now , my Julio For his TRich . I didn't accept or decline yet.
Amazing how much difference a couple of months makes. That offer would be an instant decline today
