QB Anthony Richardson, IND (2 Viewers)

Does it really matter now? They should just go back to Richardson and what will be will be. The Colts aren't a playoff team, so why play Flacco? At least Richardson would be getting those needed reps. IMO Steichen is just scared for his job. He's not as smart as he thinks he is.
agreed - if he stinks they know for sure hes done and will have a high pick to draft another. If they stick with Flacco they will win just enough to be nowhere. Complete waste of a season

To be fair, are any of us truly as smart as we think we are?

The only day I was smart was May 8, 1997. I was wrong once however. That happened on January 12, 1969.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

I dont think its a given that they miss the playoffs. I think they have a shot. not a great shot but a reasonable one if they can string a couple wins together here.

they can put Richardson in when they get to a point where they are elminated. I do truly think their chances of winning are better with Flacco than they are with Richardson. so I support the move. not that it matters. they dont care what I think haha but thats fine.

After being at that game last night I came away thinking neither team is going beyond the first round should either make it to the postseason. Like I said, Steichen is afraid for his job. If he remains with Flacco and they continue to lose, that will tell for sure.

luckily, that is not our call to make.

Well duh!

Yeah I don't understand playing Flacco unless Richardson is hurt. Get him more play time. If the team loses you get a better draft pick to most likely replace him. If he does well, maybe you reconsider or it ups his trade value.

"Making the playoffs" is a really stupid move for this franchise this year IMO (unless you're Steichen who's probably going to get fired either way).

I don’t think I’ll ever get over Macho Grande. ✈️

It has to be difficult to keep morale up on decent teams with no good QB. Richardson's just not good yet, or even adequate, and Flacco on Sunday looked like a mannequin stuck inside a pinball machine.

They showed Flacco’s face on the sideline and during the game, and I’ve never seen someone look less interested to be there.

Even when they were winning. Just zero emotion.

That may not be the case, but that was the perception I had watching the whole game.

Sometimes showing no emotion is a good thing. Bill Curry once said that about John Unitas.

I think that’s part of his personality - always has been.

And he’s back as the starter - wow
He needs to play no matter how bad he is, because they aren't a playoff team. That is obvious and Flacco sure wasn't helping that cause. The coaches are losing the locker room, if they haven't already (see Kenny Moore interview). If this dumpster fire continues you can say goodbye to GM Ballard and probably Steichen too. Shane Steichen's play calling has been abysmal. If AR doesn't improve, it is clear that the QB whisperer label put on Steichen was wrong.

I'm sure they also need to see AR play the rest of the way to determine their QB needs for next year and beyond. Maybe a bit of humble pie will help the kid, as it seems to have worked a bit for Bryce Young.

Anyone using him in redraft this week?

Deciding between Caleb, Richardson, Maye for this week only and backup rest of season upside.

6 per TD
1 per 25 pass
1 per 10 rush
Bonus 40 yard TDs

On behalf of all Jets fans, I would suggest starting him and starting him often.

Josh Downs :sadbanana: shareholders
Yes, my most drafted player this year. This was some awful news. I picked up AR a few places I had Dak and/or Trevor where the QB market was barren so a potential win for me on that front but a huge loss in the big picture. Not that anyone cares.

How does Richardson starting again impact the Colts receivers like Alec Pierce, this season?
Pierce is the least impacted, might even be helped. Low volume, deep threat works with AR.

Mitchell's dinged a little. He offers a bigger catch radius and downfield option that works with AR but he's still dinged because Flacco just gets the ball out with more consistency.

This is crushing for Downs. Goes from a top 20 PPR WR to one I'd put more like a WR4 or really weak WR3. He goes from pretty much a must start to depth.

Pittman has other issues.

I'm reserving judgement on all the WRs until we see how AR plays upon his return. That said, it's hard to imagine him supporting more than one pass catcher (if that) - who that is remains to be seen.

Standard QB scoring of 4 pt per TD and no bonus but yes. I'm going to use him over Caleb for sure in a league and got him vs Winston decision in a few leagues and will probably split the difference.

He's obviously shown flashes. Mainly last season but I've not been able to get that opening drive in week 4 against the Steelers out of my mind. Not a lot to go on. I know, but he got a chance to sit back a few weeks and take some things in and my hope is the he plays more loose and free. I actually think he and Caleb who you referenced are having a lot of the same issues. To hesitant, to concerned with making mistakes, highly inaccurate in part because they are trying to aim passes instead of just throw them and both could stand to tap into their athleticism a little more. I'm hoping a few weeks to sit back can have AR improve some of these things.Ideally I'd wait and see, but with these soft options I'm going to throw him out in some places and maybe a little that is FOMO.

Would be great if they let him run more than he did earlier in the year. That could bring a nice fantasy floor with considerable upside if he can be even slightly more accurate with his passes.

I picked up Richardson but he’ll ride the bench for Tua most weeks. The move was biased as I’m also the one who dropped him.

From a dynasty perspective you would like to hear about this guy seeking help this offseason from a QB coach and working on fundamentals and footwork. If we do not hear this he may just not “want it” enough to realize his potential. As a fan, I would love to see him reach his potential…as it would look close to something we have never seen before.

That's what most of us probably thought was happening this past offseason with the supposed QB whisperer Steichen. I guess the coach had too many other things going on.

It seems like AR has some maturity issues, hopefully the benching opened his eyes to the opportunity before him.

Man I hope ARich used this time off to reflect and improve his game. I only have one dynasty share, but I’d really like to see a nice game out of him.
His issues will most likely not be resolved overnight, but glimpses and some progress would be great to see.
Yeah, that’s where I was going with this. Incremental improvement is still improvement.

He’d shown flashes early on, but it’s been a mess ever since.

Hopefully this helps JT out. They were always going to be playing from behind regardless of Richardson or Flacco, however ARich's legs hopefully keeps some defenders at bay.
