I’m nowhere near this level, but I do believe he has the highest ceiling of any of the 2023 rookie QBs, and his floor is pretty high because of what is damn near certain to be stud rushing numbers.I'm sticking to my guns on him. This kid is the next evolution in the NFL. By year 3 he'll be the best fantasy QB in the league by a margin like Kelce is the best TE. Low QB1 this year. High QB1 year 2. Year 3 he'll be setting records.
As long as he stays healthy at least. But we've never, ever seen a QB this blessed both physically and mentally and have a great attitude to boot. This year he'll have his growing pains and plenty of flashes where we'll be in awe of whatever he did on some play. But he's a very quick study, and this game will slow down for him the more he plays it.
In my 20+ years of fantasy football, I've never felt this strong about a rookie as I do **** AR. I'm an idiot so you don't need to listen to me, but I'm definitely seeing era defining greatness potential IMO.
Really curious to know what this typo was.In my 20+ years of fantasy football, I've never felt this strong about a rookie as I do **** AR.

I probably swear too much in texts and my Swype algorithm just assumes I'm swearing even when I'm not
It's not a bad plan for redraft.I’m targeting this guy in the 8-9 round range and picking up a Jared Goff/Kirk Cousins/Geno Smith later to start ahead of him for a few weeks.
I think if you pair him with a guy like Rodgers/Goff or even Russell Wilson while stacking up at other positions is a great strategy. i love that he has the same coach (Shane Steichen) that helped Hurts to improve, and helped develop Justin Herbert as well. I think Richardson could post similar numbers to Cam Newton in his rookie year, with closer to 3000 yards passing seems. The rushing upside, and just watching that guy run seems hugeI keep winding up with this guy in my mocks. I do it every few years. Draft a rookie QB as a potential starter, that is.
Never, ever works out. I'm going to have to talk myself out of it, though.
Just did a redraft & got him in 11th rd & Geno Smith in 12th. if AF disappoints then I get run of the mill QB production. I'm fine with it. Just not ready to pull the trigger in the first 7 or 8 rounds to grab a QB.I’m targeting this guy in the 8-9 round range and picking up a Jared Goff/Kirk Cousins/Geno Smith later to start ahead of him for a few weeks.
Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew are both listed as QB1 on the Colts first depth chart.
It appears Colts head coach Shane Steichen will hedge on naming Richardson the team’s Week 1 starter for at least another week or two. The rookie has taken most of the Colts’ first-team training camp reps and demonstrated an understanding of the team’s playbook, according to Colts beat writers. Only a catastrophic preseason could land Richardson behind Minshew for the team’s Week 1 game against Jacksonville. In July, ESPN’s Dan Graziano said he expects Richardson to start in Week 1. “Even if he still needs refining as a passer, Richardson will offer enough as a runner that he’ll be the Colts’ best option right out of the chute,” Graziano said. The threat of Minshew starting will suppress Richardson’s redraft ADP, making him a target for anyone who doesn’t land an elite QB option.

#Colts DE: Kwity Paye on what it's like practicing against a QB like Anthony Richardson:
"It's demoralizing honestly..."
That's a pro QB throw.
Yeah, we all love his measurables but teaching soft touch passing when the d line is causing chaos all around you is a very tall order.
That's a pro QB throw.
His ability to throw the deep ball is not the question. It's the precision/timing routes that will take some time.
GTFO here with that. His ability to throw the deep ball is not the question

Everyone has concerns about his ability to pass, period. And we haven’t seen anything from him at all, so to see a pro throw like this is very nice.

A really positive sign for Richardson is how each drive got better for him. Didn’t completely collapse after the early interception
Similar theme was seen in practice too. Usually at his best late after some early mistakes

Quick thoughts on Anthony Richardson's debut:
1) Didn't get any breaks. Tough field pos (2 of 3 drives began at 7- and 8-yard lines) + RB stuffed on a 4th and 1
2) Pierce deep shot should've been a TD
3) Overall, some good, some bad. Duh. About what you'd expect.
Let's be honest: If he connects with Pierce for a TD, that play makes SC top 10 tonight and goes viral online. Changes the entire complexion of his day. That's how it goes, I guess.
Last thing: I am certain nerves are also a factor here. You could tell early on he needed to settle down. A lot of pressure on these young QBs out there.

Anthony Richardson to @LarraOverton:
"It felt good getting back in the groove and pushing the ball down the field... I can't be reckless with the ball. I need to be on the same page with my receivers... Overall, I think I did pretty decent, but I could have been a lot better."
More than one way to QB.Uh, okay.

When Richardson's been rushed, it looks like he's just a half-step slow on setting his feet to get rid of the ball before the rush gets there.
First time he's faced an NFL rush without a red jersey, he doesn't have the reps to have that clock in his head yet.
Don't worry I'm taking notes on the haters. I expect to hear it from you if he's bad as well.
For redraft purposes, I can't see it
16-team, start 2-QBs, yeah he's gonna be rostered but I can't see a team competing in a standard 10-12 team redraft and have plans to start ARich early in the season.
If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll hear about it, good luck to those who invest heavily in '23.

This why I'm so high on him, he's got everything he needs to keep improving. Absolutely will be bumpy this year, but I'm still convinced this guy is the #1 QB by year 3. His ceiling is better than any QB of all time, and he might end up being that.Passing the eye test and checks all the boxes are overused phrases. I want to see AR continually improve each week. There will be plenty of bumps in the road so buckle up.
He actually threw a great deep ball in college. It's the short routes that were below average in college. Personally I think that was down to play calling more than anything though.GTFO here with that. His ability to throw the deep ball is not the question

I agree and believe you've watched his tape. I feel like he's got the hard stuff down decent already, the shorter stuff will come with more experience. Being able to hit a guy going full speed in the numbers 50 years downfield is something that he can do and plenty of pro QBs can't do as well as he can already.GTFO here with that. His ability to throw the deep ball is not the question

The throw was very nice, but it doesn't answer a question for me.
The doubts on Richardson aren't his physical ability or deep ball. It's the precision and timing passes. It's the accuracy.
He got a man deep, he put the ball on him. I think when his receiver wins deep, he'll do well. When his receiver is open in the intermediate on a dig or crossing route--can he consistently hit that at the right time?
Anthony Richardson competed 7-of-12 passes for 67 yards and one interception in his professional debut, adding seven yards on two carries on the ground.
The interception came on a forced throw early in the game, which sailed over diminutive wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and into the waiting arms of Buffalo safety Dane Jackson. It wasn’t all bad for Richardson in his debut, however, as he tossed a beautifully weighted touch pass to Alec Pierce at the front pylon, which the second-year wide receiver could not maintain through contact with the ground. Richardson also did well to stick in the pocket under constant pressure from the relentless pass rush of the Bills. Richardson should ramp up the preseason reps over the coming two weeks on his way to opening the season as the starting quarterback for the Colts.
I agree, but I guarantee you that I will be yelling at the TV a lot this year with WTF was that?I liked how he looked. The talent is clearly there.

Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson on his progress this offseason: “I’m working on my footwork a lot. Understanding the depth of the routes. Understanding what we’re trying to do to the certain defensive coverages. It’s just understanding a lot of things and mastering the details…Understanding that everybody has knowledge about football. You see guys shifting this way and that — watch this, watch this. So I gotta fine-tune myself.”
