I like Stroud over Young in all formats.Just taken Stroud at 1.04 in rookie SF draft, here we go
I still think he might end up being the best of the top 3 rookie signal callers in 2023z
He has a stud left tackle and better pass catchers than young.I still think he might end up being the best of the top 3 rookie signal callers in 2023z
That said, I drafted ARich for the long-term upside.
And he’s not 4’2”, 165 LBs soaking wet. So he’s got that going for him, which is nice.He has a stud left tackle and better pass catchers than young.

Ryans on QB C.J. Stroud: command of huddle this week has been "eye-opening" how on it he was. He's definitely progressing in right direction & sky is the limit for him.

CJ Stroud has reportedly looked like a “four, five-year vet” at OTA’s according to Texans QB Case Keenum. Stroud has reported been “extremely accurate” and made the most of his reps with the first team. Texans safety Jimmie Ward said recently that CJ Stroud’s confidence has been “amazing” to see. The Texans rookie QB seems to be progressing QUICKLY
Something seems off with him. I don't know what it is. I've been pivoting to guys like Tua/Goff over Stroud in any spots I'm tempted to take him.Love me some Stroud.
Could be the best QB of this class even though Young and AR have stolen all the early headlines.
Texans signed No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud to a four-year, $36.2 million contract.
Stroud’s contract is reportedly fully guaranteed, with 100 percent of the money being paid up front per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. With his rookie deal now out of the way, Stroud has his sights set on training camp and winning the starting job ahead of Week 1’s matchup against the Ravens. It was reported in June that Stroud has already “seized” first-team snaps from quarterback Davis Mills, so we’d expect him to be named the starter as training camp winds down. The No. 2 overall pick has low-end QB2 upside heading into his rookie campaign and is a more intriguing option in 2QB/Superflex leagues than he is in standard 1QB leagues.

CJ Stroud in his first ever game as a Houston Texan:
• 2/4 passing
• 13 yards
• 1 INT
• 1 sack
• 17.7 QBR
The only way is UP for the Texans rookie QB
While true, I also think a chasm has been crossed at the QB position insofar as QB's not don't feel much of a stigma when they run...it's simply just another part of the game now if they've got that ability.I like him as an NFL QB prospect, but in fantasy nowadays you either have to run or be an amazing passer to break into the elite tier. Stroud doesn’t run much.
I remember that quote. I feel like he was trying to just deflect the lack of mobility talk. Big difference between saying you want to do something and actually doing it. Time will tell thoughWhile true, I also think a chasm has been crossed at the QB position insofar as QB's not don't feel much of a stigma when they run...it's simply just another part of the game now if they've got that ability.I like him as an NFL QB prospect, but in fantasy nowadays you either have to run or be an amazing passer to break into the elite tier. I believe Stroud made mention during the draft process that if there one thing he'd redo at TOSU...it would have been to use his legs more.

Texans OL is a mess, making life very difficult for Stroud
C.J. Stroud completed 28-of-44 passes for 242 scoreless yards in the Texans’ 25-9, Week 1 loss to the Ravens.
Stroud was pressured all afternoon and absorbed five sacks from a vaunted Ravens defense. The No. 2 overall picked played erratic at times, but found success through play-action passes and veteran receiver Robert Woods. Strouds’ lone turnover came on a sack/fumble early in the fourth quarter, but he did a good job a limiting dangerous throws for most of the afternoon. Stroud and the Texans will look to notch their first touchdown of the season next week against the Colts.

Texans added C.J. Stroud (shoulder) to Friday’s injury report ahead of Week 2’s matchup with the Colts.
A Friday addition to the injury report is never good, as Stroud enters the weekend with a questionable designation. We may not know much about his status until closer to kickoff, so this will be something to watch come game day inactives. While we don’t know the exact nature of his injury, we do know it is an injury to his throwing shoulder, which presumably occurred in practice. Stroud didn’t have much fantasy upside in Week 2 outside of 2QB and superflex leagues, but anybody planning on starting him should have Davis Mills rostered as a contingency play.
I also thought he was decent. wasnt able to watch the whole game, but the part I did watch.... he looked like a legit professional QB.I watched most of the game. He didn't have time to throw but maneuvered well in the pocket and showed a lot of awareness to avoid pressure. Would've liked to see more accuracy on longer throws but then again he didn't have a lot of time. I wouldn't expect much from him fantasy wise this year as the OL and offense in general is dogs*t but a Solid B- grade for his first start.

Status of #Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, dealing with soreness in right throwing shoulder and didn't throw in Friday practice, to be determined Sunday morning, per league sources. If Stroud is held out, former starter Davis Mills will get the start against #Colts @KPRC2
