QB Dillon Gabriel, CLE (1 Viewer)

Dillon Gabriel completed 29-of-52 passes for 221 yards in the Browns’ 23-9, Week 6 loss to the Steelers.

Gabriel lived and died by the check down in this one, averaging a paltry 4.3 YPA on an absurd 52 attempts while averaging a 3.9 ADOT on his completions, per the early PFF data. Sadly, it was the only thing that worked for Gabriel, as he completed 4-of-14 passes that traveled 10-plus air yards. Making his second career start, Gabriel also took six sacks on the day, and while he didn’t turn the ball over, got away with a handful of plays that could have resulted in far worse than an incompletion. He didn’t lead the Browns to a touchdown in this one, but narrowly missed a wide open Jerry Jeudy in the end zone that would have salvaged an otherwise disappointing fantasy day for both players. Adding to Gabriel’s sack woes is the fact that Jack Conklin, who protects the lefty’s blindside, left in the third quarter with a concussion and will need to clear protocol next week if he hopes to play against the Dolphins. Even with a generous matchup on paper, Gabriel will be hard to trust after this outing. What little fantasy value he has will come in 2QB and superflex leagues.

Have to wonder how long until they give Shedeur a look. Perhaps losing to the also 2-7 Raiders after a bad loss to the Jets will do it.

I've watched a couple of games. People are harder on Gabriel than they are on Ward, and I think Gabriel looks better. He's a rookie in a historically bad offense

I don't believe in Dillon Gabriel for redraft purposes and don't think this 3rd round Rookie QB is ready to go out there and lead the offense on Sunday
I have skill players like Judkins and both Tight Ends spread across several leagues, I just don't see Gabriel being ready and I think we might see something lie the Bengals over the last 2 games

I hope I'm wrong...but I doubt this kid is ready
You're telling me that 31 teams passed on this kid twice but the Browns knew he was a steal in the 3rd?
I can no longer give the Browns the benefit of the doubt and there are other teams that also fit into this box

I have no skin in the game from the fantasy football perspective.

I don’t know if Gabriel is the answer for the Browns but I know Flacco is not.

Why not put the kid in to see what you have to help with the Browns 2026 draft?
I hear you Max, let me share some facts that are indisputable
Gabriel is a 24 yr old rookie QB...Fact
Gabriel played for 3 different colleges running from programs where he could not beat out other superior QBs so he darts thru the portal to another school, UCF, OK and Oregon, Fact
Gabriel stands tall at 5 foot 10, they say he's 5-11 but look when he stands around tho other players, he might be 5-9.5
Gabriel is under 6 feet tall and playing Quarterback in the NFL, Fact
Gabriel weighs in at about 200, that's pretty small to play Quarterback. By any measurements Gabriel would be one of the smallest Quarterbacks starting an NFL game this Sunday, Fact

I wish him the best of luck this weekend but we could see Sanders as early as this weekend

lol....this is silly.

I'll ignore the fact that you made the same point twice. He left UCF for a much better and bigger opportunity. Nobody runs from a Mickey Mouse college to a real football powerhouse to start as their QB. That's not how these things work.

2nd year at OU, he completes 70% of his passes for 3,660 yards 30 TDs and added12 TDs on the ground. He transferred out because OU's OC left and his draft grades weren't there. He didn't want to chance it with a defensive minded coach and Oregon just put a transfer QB into the NFL first round. Oh, and the superior QB he couldn't beat out? Benched before September ended and transferred out. I'm assuming you're doing bits here.

He's starting for Cleveland because he's not only better than Sanders, he's got mobility and with a leaky line, the Browns have to turn to a mobile QB who is accurate and experienced. A QB that beat some of the best teams in college. Sanders shrank in the biggest games. And to the extent he does try to run, he runs backwards which, while entertaining in college, is a recipe for disaster in the NFL.
I'll take a full apology for my "silly" posts from you
He's not better than Sanders by a long shot right now
Cleared concussion protocol and will be benched this week for Sanders

I would have let this go but someone woke me up in the Sanders thread and I just had to come say hello
