QB Jordan Love, GB (2 Viewers)

Is it worth benching Mahomes vs. Buffalo for Love vs. Giants? Patty has been so disappointing.
No, no, no, no. I am starting Dobbs over Love this week.

You’re acting like that’s a ludicrous question, meanwhile Mahomes has been fairly mid this season.
I get the recency bias, but that is borderline ludicrous. Mahomes O/U 273 yards, Love 223. That is a massive chasm
I’m considering over Lamar with the weather.

Over the past 5 weeks, Love is the 6th QB by AVG points per game... Mahomes is 15th. 5 weeks is almost one third of the season. That's not recency bias.
Also, the yardage projection above amounts to 2 fantasy points. The Chiefs are projected to score 3 points more than Green Bay this week.

Who is being ludicrous?

Rock on.

Love is definitely looking much better. He should be getting the same buzz as Purdy at the moment, but he's not.
Purdy is the odds on favorite to win MVP right now. He leads the NFL in Completion %, TD%, Yards/attempt, Yards/completion, Rating, and QBR.

It is extremely impressive how Love has turned the boat around. Nobody saw that coming. However, I disagree about him being in the same buzz category as Purdy at this stage.
Yeah…he’s gonna have to do this a little longer to be in the Brock conversation.

This guy is QB6-8 across my leagues - he has looked really good in the second half of the season. Do peeps here think he will be drafted that high next year? I doubt he will, and he might provide good value if he drops too far. Lots of things can change between now and then ofc, but it's fun to speculate.

I hate to say it but yeah he will likely be better next season now that he has some games under his belt and the receivers will be more experienced.

ADP may present value if people continue to have a bad impression of him.

Darn it. This was going so much better earlier in the year when people were saying he's garbage. More of that please.

And yesterday was without Watson, Reed and lost Wicks. They have a solid core of young pass catchers around him. Should have a solid offense for a bit.

Injuries are no excuse in the NFL but I don't think Love has had his first team of preferred WRs, RBs and TEs for a single game this season, not to mention the constantly banged up OL. I think the jury is still out as to whether he's a starting-quality NFL QB, but the Packers can't ask for much more than what we've seen in his first year as a starter. I would say he's likely going to sign a massive contract extension this Spring.

I don't think the jury is out on that. I believe he is starting caliber and we have seen strides he has made. Is he star level? Not sure there. And yeah, others have shown things before and turned out to be mirages. So of course have to be careful. Think he is starting quality though from what I see. Has the demeanor, the talent, and makes solid decisions.

My worry right now is not him or the offense. Its the attitude and lack of leadership strangely on D. Story for another thread.

After losing Cousins and Burrow, Love has been a revelation in a 1QB league. I'm wary of this falling apart, but Love has a great command of the offense/confidence and I like the weapons too. Thought a few of those throws vs KC should have been intercepted.

Pretty much do or die each week with Jordan Love
:goodposting:

Thanks Jordan!

With a game remaining which is meaningless to some NFL teams and most fantasy teams, J Love is QB6 in my scoring system.

His 30 passing TDs are third in the NFL behind Prescott (32) and Purdy (31). If you include rushing TDs... Love is still third with 34, behind Allen (42) and Hurts (38).

He threw career-first touchdowns to seven rookies this year: Jayden Reed, Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, Dontayvion Wicks, Malik Heath, Bo Melton, Ben Sims

To add to this:

He's 7th in PPG in my leagues scoring system but two QB's above him played abbreviated seasons, Flacco and Cousins.

Saw a stat yesterday that 98% of the Green Bay's WR and TE production came from players in their first or second season. Most since 2002 when the league expanded, next highest was the 76%.

Considering the growth he and his pass catchers should continue to take as well as maybe some better health from some of his key pass catchers it does not seem to me that people are quite high enough on him.

And other then that, he's fun to watch. Has a really live arm, like the way he moves. If he can iron out some accuracy issues the sky's the limit.

I haven't watched this guy play all year but apparently I should have. He's one guy I will be tuning into in the playoffs for sure!

He looks really good and his demeanor is fantastic. I didn’t think id be right back to being really excited about another Packers QB.
Is it luck? Or a good organizational structure for GB?

Has to be some luck. We all know Ron Wolf loved Favre when he was in the front office for the Jets. It was lucky the Jets couldn't trade up to draft him and instead he went to Atl who was wiling to give him up. Drafting Rodgers that late in the 1st was lucky. Someone (everyone) should have nabbed him before that. The part that isn't luck is these guys (Rodgers/Love) sitting behind a HOF QB before they are thrown into the lead role. No way to prove it, but if Love is drafted by some suckwad team and is the starter right away, maybe he struggles and never becomes a reliable QB.

Yeah. Yet others sit behind really good qbs and don’t do it.
I do give a lot of credit to LaFleur and Tom Clements.

Very impressive season for Love. Imagine if he had Adams as his #1.
Sure. Or is it better to not have one guy/ego that has to be fed? Love Davante and would welcome him back. But is this offense better when there is no focal guy? Love’s struggles early happened at times when he was forcing balls to Watson.

Agreed. But there is also the aspect the WR room would've benefitted greatly from having a veteran presence which ultimately would have helped Love as well.

Interested to see how this weekend goes. As of now, a lot of fantasy managers probably soured on Love during his swoon earlier in the season and he's likely to be undervalued in redraft next year. On fantasypros he's shown as the QB15 on their dynasty rankings. Not saying he'll be in the mix for Top 3 next year or anything, but I'd certainly buy shares of him if it's at a QB2 type ADP.

I have some humble pie to eat. I never thought he’d be any good, but he is already really good. Regardless of the next round’s outcome, GB has reloaded awfully quickly, and should be good for many years going forward. Love looks like the real deal.

It must be awful to be a Bears fan. This dude is gonna beat their doors off for the next decade.

He has studied Aaron Rogers well. That falling off the back foot flick of the wrist... we have seen that many times before in green and gold.

Yeah, I didn't see this coming. Early in the season, he had that "okay, his stats are good, but the eye test tells me this guy is not very good" look about him, but he looked really good late in the season, and while the Dallas defense gave no resistance yesterday, Love still made some terrific throws yesterday (that throw to make it 20-0 was a dagger). I was definitely way wrong about this guy.

Give the Packers a ton of credit...they did an amazing job of developing him...not every QB is ready to start as a rookie (the whole rookie QB contract thing is great when it works but I think it has warped some people's view on the position) and the Pack remained patient and due to that they will now reap the rewards for the next decade or so...just a real impressive job by Lafleur and the organization.
