QB Jordan Love, GB (3 Viewers)

In a couple leagues he was actually cut/released this week, he is #19 overall at QB right now and I think much of that is just he missed time or he easily is in the Top 10-12 right now

I had Purdy who I picked up off waivers early in the season, I also picked up Geno Smith so both QBs I drafted didn't make it or went past my patience point
-I cut Smith and grabbed Love but Ihave to play him because Purdy is ona. Bye week BUT both Smith and Love are on Bye weeks next week so I couldn't have that either
So I went Purdy-Love and feel pretty good going forward
CMC would seem like help for Purdy in the passing attack, he is down a prime WR but Aiyuk wasn't having a terrific season prior to the injury

I was shocked Love was let go and I felt like he should see a surge in the 2nd Half of the season
@packer_junkie has a thread on "Good teams-skill guys" and one fo the factors for me is I see Love and the Packers making a strong Playoff push these next many weeks
It'll likely blow up in my face but I wanted to share what I was doing

I’m debating between love and geno vs the rams.

Really wish they would have just sat Love this week then he has a bye to fully heal that groin for end of season run. 🤷‍♂️

GB is pretty notorious for being conservative medically. While its worrisome, and certainly a tough D to go against…I don’t think they clear him unless they are very comfortable he is ok.

Not sure I can take the chance of him not finishing the game, and there are "palatable" options out there as free agents. He's already cost me a win this year.
Same ... Picked up/Starting the venerable University of Delaware QB Joe Flacco at Minn (Dome) compared to the likely bad weather In Detroit vs Det in GB Sunday

Did the same. It sucks but it's not like Love did so much better (3 points in my league).

I am down by 8.43 but have C Otton still to go ...
J Love 17.83
Flacco 9.15 Difference of 8.68

So if Otton lays an egg.....

I haven't watched a bunch of GB games this year so I don't know but is Jordan Love just not the QB we thought he was going to be?

I mean the way he ended last year and started this one was so promising but, since the groin strain his last 2.5 games seem concerning RoS.

Even when he was throwing a bunch of TDs he's barely completing 61% and leads the league in INTs.

How does he look out there? Lost? Injured? NBD?

He might be a little more matchup dependent than we thought but I’m not too worried. Bears d is really good.

They've moved the ball well but have not been able to finish drives. And this week they had very few possessions.

If he's truly no longer hurting I'd expect them to do more stuff with him under center. But I'm pretty sure they did not do that today, again.

It's really his interceptions that are confounding me. He threw 11 all last season and now has 11 in eight games.

Love is ticking me off. Would you bench him vs. the Dolphins for the likes of Darnold who faces the Cardinals?
Dolphins have a very good pass defense and Darnold has been going off. I think this is an easy decision and would definitely start Darnold.
Can we really say that without tasting vomit in our mouth?
No, it is hard to say as I have Love, but it feels like as honest assessment. Love is 2x better than Darnold, but Darnold has a better supporting cast, better coach, and a better matchup.

I wish I had that option. GB barely passes anymore. Very frustrating. I let a lot of good qbs go on waivers thinking Love was set and forget QB1.
Unfortunately game scripts and solid defensive play have lessened the need for Love to air it out. May not change for Thursday if the weather forecast of it being very cold with snow showers holds, unless Miami is able to put up a lot of points (unlikely with Tua’s cold weather history).

He was one Christian Watson bungled catch from a very solid game.
He was also a couple of dropped interceptions away from having a truly disastrous game. Nothing personal on Love this week (and I am one of his harshest critics), it just feels like a game where GB is up the whole time and they pound the rock in sketchy weather. I could look like an idiot on Monday taking Darnold over Love this week, but that is just where my gut is.

This turned out to basically be a wash, depending on league settings.

A pre-emptive apology to everyone who is starting him. I am forced to start him this week and he has been abysmal every time I have started him the last two years. Or maybe we reverse the curse?
I have to start him tonight as well. I wish it were not a Thursday game. However, the Lions have many injuries for tonight and may be at their weakest defensively than they've been most of the season. So the sport-radio-talk around here is that it will be a high scoring game. I think that bodes well for JLove @QB tonight. Hoping for a curse reversal for sure!!!

I hate Jordan Love so much.

Started him this week and I grabbed Love when someone cut him in redraft, thought I was getting the 1-up on that, he's been a disappointment mostly
Better players on waivers right now at QB

12/20 for 200 yds in a 34-31 game, what was he doing last night, he looked depressed on the sidelines every time they cut to him
They paid him how much as he threatened to hold out this season?

I feel like the reference to his contract here is an example of the disconnect between fantasy and real life football. He may not be making fantasy players happy, but is earning that contract. Started slow last night but made some fantastic plays in the second half including a couple jaw-drop throws on the move and finished with respectable QBR (92) and passer rating (111) - both higher than Goff for the game. He never threatened to hold out, attended every practice and his contract looks very competitive right now. I've never heard him once speak publicly about his contract. This guy is the anti-Rodgers which is very much welcomed in TitleTown. Total guaranteed money is 10th in the league, as is the Spotrac's "practical guaranteed" money.

Next Gen Stats
Jordan Love recorded a 57.1% success rate in the Packers 30-13 victory over the Seahawks, the 5th-highest of his career.

Love has had 3 of his 5 highest success rates of his career come since the Packers Week 10 bye.

Yeah. I don't get. He had some good throw but he a couple of clear misses and had 2 balls that were severely under thrown (bailed out by DPI's calls). Any other QB in the NFL team would have describe that as a off day for their QB.
That seems a bit ill considered.

I think LaFleur is more talking about how well Love has been protecting the ball over the last month. 67.4% completions for 872 yards with 7 TD and 0 interceptions. Plenty of teams see nowhere near that level of play from their QBs.

Theyve obviously pulled in the reins on Love over the last few months when they realized they can win with Willis by running the ball. Then when Love came back gun slinging they started losing again.

It’s been one hell of a NIGHTMARE for the Green Bay Packers today. Jordan Love has been off, has his top 3 WRs out, playing with his 3rd Left Guard of the game, out there throwing to guys he has no in game chemistry with and the Packers have 4 turnovers. Couldn’t have gone worse.

He wows you with some of the throws he can make. I would love to see him with a bonafide alpha WR like Tee Higgins. Not sure who calls the plays in GB, but they could use a playbook from this millennium.
