I agree - I believe Cousins and Rivers are opposite ends of the Spectrum, with Brady as the measured middle ground.

I actually had to reach a bit for him this year. In our local 14 teamer (6 points per passing TD) I grabbed him at 7.3 even though Josh Dotson was still on the board and I really wanted to grab him. But I wanted Cousins and the guy who ALWAYS drafts him was behind me so I knew there was no way he would make it back. No regrets but was painful to know he was a 9th/10 rounder in most 12 team drafts. Going to 14 really makes a difference in the QBs flying off the board.

when drafting guys like him its a know your league thing. there will always be certain players that perform differently in your draft because certain GMS preferences are a bit off the board. I'm betting money he was the best QB on the board at the time you picked him. thats all you can ask when you pick a QB.

There’s a category of older veterans that just get overlooked by owners more attracted to the potential of rookies. The Rodney Dangerfields of the league. I try to identify them going into the draft. Cousins was a crystal clear example of one.

I wasnt talking about fantasy football in regards to this but the media and general public which included many posts here in regards to Kirk Cousins ability to win prime time games, which is a non sequitor when games are won or lost by many different factors than just QB play.

People were even making start sit and other gambling decisions based on this ill logic. God bless their hearts.

As far as your point about being able to get Cousins for a lower price in fantasy football in part because of this I agree with you and that is a good point. Its just not the perspective I am coming from as a Vikings fan.

I saw no realistic chance of the Vikings winning once they were down 20-7. The Vikings did not disappoint.

On the road against the team that played in the super bowl and turned the ball over 4 times. Yeah, a tough task to pull that one out.

Jefferson fumbling the ball out of the end zone was a global killer. Whole different game if they get the TD there. Not saying they would have won, but would have been very interesting anyway.

Was thinking late in the draft season and telling someone I was drafting with that if you have a QB whose primary WR is the first pick in most drafts, TE is the third one taken, second WR is going as WR36 and a third WR is drafted in the teen rounds how can everyone be so relatively low on the guy throwing them the ball?

I think a good chance the Vikings will be 2-5 or 3-4 and if any contending teams, Jets included, suffer a QB injury we'll be hearing rumors. In fact already saw one today so I'm already late posting this thought. Odds seem small of a trade and rumors are probably all we'll hear but this JJ owner in multiple leagues is just a little bit nervous about it.

I'm so annoyed with myself because every time he makes a good play I can't stop stop saying "do you like that" or "we love it Kirkco" and I can't help myself and just want it to stop, though probably not to the level of my family members.

In my local league, CBS had me as the underdog. Means nothing of course but I'm looking at the lineups and wondering how I could be the underdog. LB and safety have been particular concerns and they have not defended the middle of the field well at all. TEs are a must start against them. QBs, it depends on your options, but it's certainly something that could be a tiebreaker if you have two QBs that platoon.

Dude just isn’t that nimble. He’s more like a programmed machine, but can’t process fast enough to audible when the script breaks down. While he can’t be blamed for the awful Min D the entirety of his tenure, there is zero doubt that Cousins makes bone headed mistakes at the worst possible moment. Like not spiking it today.

Despite the numbers I didn't think Cousins ball placement was very good on a lot of his throws in this game. A few of them were great, but I have seen him lead his receivers better than this is other games before. Some times this was understandable due to a defender knocking a linemen into his throwing path, but other times he was not under duress at all, or had his throw interfered with, yet he was throwing behind receivers or throwing it too high.

The way they stall in goal line situations is also partly his fault. Although I would attribute a lot of that to poor blocking from the offensive line as well.

He’s been one of the very best FF QBs the past 3-5-8 years. No matter how you cut it he’s been very productive. But apparently nobody cares. I think I drafted him for $3/$200. One of the steals of the draft so far for me.

Where will he go? Jefferson seems to be pulling the plug on his season so the vikings despite an easy schedule ahead will likely fall out of contention soon. I think Kirk will be traded this year as a rental. Where he goes depends on who gets hurt around the league. For instance if Purdy goes down to injury I don't think the 49ers would hesitate to bring in Cousins. They want the SB this year. Same with Philadelphia if Hurts goes down. By the end of the year Cousins may end up in a great situation.
