QB Lamar Jackson, BAL (5 Viewers)

Should continue being great for fantasy; but he missed 2 ~5 yard, wide open, game winning touchdown passes on the goal line before the toe on the line catch to end the game. His rushing talent as a QB I think is second to none in the league, and maybe only behind Vick all time; but whether it's a talent issue or a nerves/big moment issue, I really don't think he should keep being put in the elite category when it comes to passing. He just folds in big moments.

I think they will get the O-line figured out. Don't forget this KC defense is legit with a great DC.

That being said, as a Lamar owner, really hate seeing him take that many hits running the ball.
He also missed some wide open reads.

I know it’s early, but we could be seeing another MVP season out of him. If it were up to me—I think that I’d probably have my top 3 as Lamar, Mahomes and Henry at this moment.

This guy has to win at least 1 superbowl
Think this could his best shot as Henry as their closer gives them a dimension they’ve never had before. Of course they’ll probably have to win in KC to get there but I’m not so sure this version of KC is as good as previous versions no matter what they’re record will be after the end of the season

While true, this is easily the worst defense the Ravens have had since Lamar became the starter, and it is hard to win a bunch of games in the playoffs with a porous defense.

Unfortunately I think this is what will end up defining his career (right or wrong). If he doesn’t end up winning a Super Bowl in his career, that’s what people will remember him for.
Yep. Fair or not, that is the standard by which every other QB who has been a multiple time MVP has been judged. Hell, people have killed Aaron Rodgers for years because he has only won one Super Bowl, which just goes to show how the standards are raised once you are winning MVPs. To avoid being football's version of James Harden, Jackson needs to get to and win a Super Bowl.

Regarding this week’s game:

“That wasn't in doubt," Jackson said after Friday's practice. "Just resting my body. It's a long season."

"He'll be ready," Harbaugh said. "He studied all week. He was involved in all the preparation. He knows the game plan. He knows the opponent."

A fantasy football nightmare, but he's so good at taking what he's offered. You didn't see the TEs this week. Doesn't matter, still 40+ points. Next week the WRs are probably irrelevant and the TEs have 200yds. Besides my team, he's currently the only player I watch an NFL game for.

The trick is to have Lamar and Henry like I do in one of my dynasty teams 😂 that combo has been legitimately absolute dynamite so far.

Oh, absolutely. Lamar and Henry are great for FF, the Ravens... not so much. Too unpredictable.

But it is great to see Lamar thrive. I am simply a big fan of him.
We have come a long way from "he is a RB" to "he is an average QB that runs" to "he is a great QB that is an incredible rushing thread.".

I remember hearing rumors that during the his contract negotiation Lamar could have been traded for 2 firsts. 😪

Pretty sure anyone could have signed at one point as a non-exclusive franchise player or something along those lines, and if the Ravens refused to match the deal, they would receive two first rounders. Lamar was easily worth two 1sts.

Yes, and the assumption was that a team would spend time negotiating the deal with Lamar and do all of the work and then the Ravens would just match that.

In my lifetime, I never thought I would see anything close to Vick ever again. Lamar is that, and so much more. Now I find myself wondering if we'll ever see anything like Lamar ever again. He's made himself into a pretty damn complete QB. What I really marvel at the most beyond his speed, elusiveness, accuracy and football IQ is his durability and longevity. He's special in about every way imaginable. Talent wise, Daniels might be in the same tier, but will he be able to do it for a long period of time like Lamar? I guess time will tell.

Is Jayden Daniels not arguably that guy right now?
When Lamar was breaking out early a loud narrative was that teams would figure him out when they got more tape on him. That's a regular thing in this league, some players pop and then struggle. I'm not saying that Daniels is going to regress but putting him on Lamar's level at this point is premature.
