QB Tyler Huntley, MIA (1 Viewer)

Starting him with no confidence in one of my 16 team leagues. Stafford and Bridewater on bye and T Hill not getting the snaps

Stuck with Huntley as my only option in dynasty after someone else traded for Carr yesterday and nobody else will work with me this morning.  Glad I at least have him as an option, so I'll be happy with anything over 10-12 points or so.

Tyler Huntley completed 26-of-36 passes for 219 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in the Ravens' 16-13, Week 11 win over the Bears, adding seven carries for 40 additional yards.

Making an emergency start as Lamar Jackson battled a nasty, non-COVID virus, Huntley did his job, largely avoiding turnovers, making some big plays with his legs, and locking onto top target Mark Andrews with Marquise Brown (thigh) sidelined. The pick that Huntley did throw was more of a sensational play by INT-artist Tashaun Gipson than Huntley mistake. Huntley's biggest play of the day was a 29-yard completion to Sammy Watkins with 0:33 remaining where the second-year UDFA managed to identify a broken coverage. It was surprising that Jackson did not play today — so we suppose anything is possible — but we would fully expect the Ravens' starter back for Week 12 vs. Cleveland, returning Huntley to the bench.

Kid just go on a lot of peoples radars after yesterday. Tiny, tiny sample size however. But he looked good.

Even though a team would have to trade for him (exclusive rights FA), I’m almost convinced I’d rather a team take a chance on him than any QB in the draft this year.
What would he yield in a trade? Presumably less than Watson, and less than a mid 1st. I’d think 🤔

Need to see more.

This morning for example, the ARZ defenders are talking about the best offense they've seen all season in Detroit yesterday.

It’s possible he’s a flash in the pan, but I picked him up in case of exactly this outcome and I think I gotta hold in dyno in case he ends up starting somewhere else next season.

Hes played competently in stints several times now, it’s not like it’s just this game. Obviously there’s risk and I wouldn’t trade an NFL #1 pick for him but I don’t see how he’s not worth what Jimmy G was

EDIT: for some reason I thought the Pats took jimmy later than they did. Still feels like a somewhat reasonable parallel as a gamble, maybe with a little discount for much worse draft capital but how often do non-1st round qb’s pan out?

Lamar Jackson did not practice Thursday.

Jackson remains sidelined since Dec. 12 with a right ankle injury.

Baltimore has one full practice left before Sunday's game in Cincinnati.

If Jackson can't play, Tyler Huntley would start in the battle for first place in the AFC North.

_______________

Was QB1 in most formats last week.

Anyone have him rostered? Planning on rolling him out if he starts?

With Taysom out, it’s either Huntley or Fields.

I’m sure others face a harder decision.

Even before this most recent performance, there was talk of moving on from Lamar. When you combine the salary cap relief with what you might get in a trade, I would not blame the Ravens for at least thinking about it.

What a huge move that would be...you either get closer to a championship or set the franchise back a decade...other than that it's not a big deal.

I own both and am glad Jackson is out, would much rather roll with Huntley the rest of the way.  Jackson was not playing well before his injury anyway. Huntley is more consistent, a better passer and just as capable running.

Does not matter if Harbaugh admits it but there is a battle going on to be the starter in Baltimore.  With Jackson wanting a big extension this is a great time to audition Huntley for the future and save tons of cap space and possible land 2 #1s for Jackson.

I didn't want to bring forth a debate, but, although the sample size is small, Huntley seems to read things differently from Lamar. I think I'll leave it at that. If I'm coach Harbaugh, I would be wanting to take a deeper look.

As a Steeler fan though, I'm hoping they back the Brinks truck to Lamar's house. I still remember the favor Flacco did for us to set that franchise back after their SB win, and a repeat move a decade later would be nice to see.

Jackson's 2022 5th year option already picked up, so in theory Ravens still have 20 games or more to make their QB decisions.

I run the risk of being utterly wrong here, but Huntley is the player we thought we drafted with Lamar. LFG, TH.

Strongly considering over Dak if Lamar does indeed sit. Faced Deebo who had a pretty good night and I might need some 20+ Upside with my RB stable decimated, jordan Howard/Rhamondre(illness) is all I got as an RB2. So I need more than Dak’s weekly 10.

Same situation here…I think I am gonna ride Dak at home with that matchup…no issues going with Huntley but for me if Dak sucks and Huntley goes off I can live with that…if Dak goes off and Huntley doesn’t I will be second guessing myself all offseason…not much science behind my decision right now.

LAMAR JACKSONQB, BALTIMORE RAVENS

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Lamar Jackson (ankle) is unlikely to play Week 16 against the Bengals.

Tyler Huntley would draw another start if Jackson -- who suffered an ankle sprain two weeks ago -- can't go against the Bengals. It would be a shock if Jackson, who hasn't practiced all week, was able to get in a limited practice Friday. If he does, he would have a slim shot of being under center for the Ravens Sunday. Huntley's rushing prowess makes him a low-end QB1 in Week 16 if he starts.

I picked Huntley up as a block in several leagues but if Lamar is out I plan to start him over Jalen Hurts and possibly over Mahomes in two leagues. For Mahomes it depends on Hill/Kelce, not sure yet what I'd do is one is available but if both are out I'm going Huntley.

Seems like the big winner when Huntley starts is Mark Andrew and his fantasy owners.

Me thrice. Dak or Huntley. To make matters more interesting my semi final opponent has Lamar and hasn’t gone for a replacement QB yet. He’s a huge Ravens fan that has Andrews and Hollywood in his starting lineup as well ! I’m trying to work out if that makes it better to start Huntley - if he completely bombs then 2 of my opponents starters will have bombed as well. If they go off, Huntley will have a had a good day and there’s always the chance he has good one with his legs and other receivers.

he looks like a better pocket passer to me - quicker with his reads and he fires those intermediate passes out with just a flick of his wrist. Honestly think he might be the better qb
than Lamar.

ive also just picked him up off waivers in my 1QB dynasty league. There’s every possibility he gets a chance somewhere else very soon

Him or Carr for me veruss his Dak. Im sensing a Dak rebound game and Carr is becoming more of a game manager without his favourite TE these days.

Its a dynasty league so Im keeping him for sure after this.

Also picked him up as a block since my opponent has Lamar but now I’m considering him over Brady.  I probably won’t do it, but the scoring system heavily skews in favor of running QBs and with Brady missing some weapons…hmmm…

Lamar is OUT.

Huntley expected to start despite illness.
Really curious how this game goes.  Ravens were embarrassed at home by the Bengals last game and the Bengals just always seem to have the Ravens #.  Would love to see Huntley pull a W out there.

Glad he's starting, need to see a larger sample size of just how good he really is.

Here's my thought.
He plays a lot like Lamar. Not as good a QB yet, he locks in on his first read and rarely scans the field. But he can run the same rpo offense. So they don't have to change much to fit him in.
He's quick and can run like Lamar.
So you're probably getting 75% Lamar, who is usually a QB1.
That seems like a good bet to me.

I have Fields as my Superflex right now and he’s going on the road @Sea where it’ll be 30* and 50% Chan of snow ❄️

and  he is dealing w an ankle issue.
but I think Huntley’s a better option

I’m pretty sure it’s been reported that Foles is starting for the Bears this week (Dalton is injured). It’s in question whether Fields will be healthy enough to even be the backup, I think

Huntley’s definitely the better option because Fields isn’t playing
