Does the wild card team automatically get the bottom seed in the playoffs? Or does he/she get a higher seed if their team has a better record than a team that won their division?

Division winners always seed higher than wildcards in my leagues, irregardless of record.

We actually just changed our league rules, the same way the NFL did recently - the top two division winners get the top two seeds, but the 3rd division winner does not automatically get the #3 seed, it is determined by record.

In our league, the division winners and wildcard are completely seeded by record, so the wildcard could conceivably be the 3, or even the 2, seed. Divisions are randomly determined before the draft so we don't hold that against anyone.
