Questions for the Post-Draft Podcast (1 Viewer)

Guys-

Sigmund, Jeff, and I are putting together the post-draft podcast. We are going to be reading questions from the SP. Post your questions here and we'll read the best ones!

What is your opinion of the Buffalo Bills draft overall? Did they make a good decision by taking whittner as high as they did? Was it in their best interests to take 5 defensive players in the first 5 rounds of the draft, when the offense appears to be in disarray as well? Any thought are appreciated thanks..

Eagles Bucs and Jets all went OT, G early in the draft.

Can we expect to see increased production from the offensive skill positions of each of these teams?

Ryan Cook (2nd round - Center) was generally viewed as one of (if not the) top center prospects a year ago. Why did his stock drop so much in the past year?

Is Joseph Addai good enough to be a 3-down back in Indy early in the year, or will he struggle to wrestle the job from Dom Rhodes?

Given the rocky situation in San Francisco (young QB, poor offensive line, lack of WR talent), can Vernon Davis make an immediate fantasy impact at the TE position?

First question: Are you guys going to delay this a week or at least until the first couple rounds of my rookie draft are finished?

With Vince Young being drafted to Tennesse, and the rumor of Steve McNair going to Baltimore, will McNair produce more in Baltimore than Tennesse?

Is the quality of the pod going to be better this time?

Oh? You meant a football question? Rookie of the Year, if not Bush?

Did you guys cut in line to get into Radio City Music Hall?

Also, was the buzz in NY about the Texans passing on Bush a huge deal? I still am shocked days later, passing on Gayle Sayers for Julius Peppers (assuming both guys play to max potential) is in poor judgement in my mind.

Here are a few.

1. One of my draft sleepers this year was Leonard Pope TE Georgia who was drafted

3.8 (72nd pick) by Cardinals. I think the cards got a steal with this pick and with the bad play of the TE's on the cards roster, I think he can be an early contributor.

2. Why do you think the Raiders in the 7th spot chose to pass on drafing a QB - an area clearly with a need and draft Michael Huff. I argee that the raider needed a DB but with a draft this rich in DB's could they of tried to trade down and still got the same value.

3. At last the Bills - Take a pick any pick and explain it. Especially the Donte Whitner 8th over all pick. Was he really the 8th best player in collge last year or even the 2nd best DB? I have not read that anywhere.

Which team made the best trade in Round 2 to move directly in front of a team waiting to draft said player?

Why didn't the Lions take a chance and draft a possible franchise QB in Matt Leinart?

Hi guys, long-time FBG podcast listener, first-time question poster

In a rookie dynasty draft, should Vernon Davis be the first non-rb picked given a TE-required league with .5 or 1 pt per catch?

How about in these given scenarios-

1. Your team somewhat needs a qb, but can get by-

2. Passing touchdowns are 4 pts? 6pts?

Also, given Leinart is potentially in a goldmine situation fantasy-wise, pre-season performances being equal- would Leinart be ranked at the top of the big three? Has any of your rankings changed of the big three given their destinations?

The Miami Dolphins didn't trade for QB Joey Harrington.

With Cpep hurt until ?????,

MIA has Brock Berlin, Cleo Lemon,.........and now Marcus Vick (rumored to be a UDFA signing).

This has to be a major concern. What's going on?

Is the future of the draft, and subsequently the NFL as a whole, moving toward a focus on defense and less about offensive skill positions?

In the future Cecil, it sounds as if you need to back away from the microphone or get closer, I am unsure, but the quality is :X

when are you going to compensate me for using "let's get ready to rumble" in the last podcast?

Understand that this is just constructive criticism:

Why is the podcast so quiet? And it seems like there are various levals of quality from segment to segment.

Content is pretty good. But like has been mentioned, your production quality needs work. If you live in a fairly good sized city, look up a local sound company and get some advice on type of microphone to use and have them show you how to keep the pops out of your sound. You can also put up some sound deadeners like egg crates on the walls to keep the room sounding like a hall. A sound engineer can hook you up fairly cheaply. Just get good microphones anything else you can cheap out on if you have too. I played in bands for 30 years and have used junk and top shelf equipment over that time. A good sound guy is worth his weight in gold :)

Replaced my microphone with a studio quality headset. Shouldn't be a problem from here on out!

Cecil, great job. But you are popping all your Ps, and it's hard to listen to. Back off the mic a little.
Thanks JDogg- One of my biggest pet peeve's is popping "P's". New headset should eliminate this.

Recorded, first all together, then re-recorded in parts that needed work. Also recorded late at night. All segments are actually the same db levels, finally figured out how to change that in Cool Edit.

My mic was really the biggest problem, but has now been replaced.

thanks for the advice! Talked to my producer at AM 950 The Fan here in Denver and he gave me some pointers.
