Yes, I guess he played for Florida A&M...I vaguely recall watching him play in the preseason and that's all I've seen of him. He's made a few poor decisions but has excellent pocket presence and has had some nice touch on some of his balls.
Gray is QB3 and a RFA. On March 1, he was tendered as a second round ($1.35 million) RFA. This will make it very difficult for him to sign elsewhere like he wanted. Garrard is under contract for two more years, iirc, so Gray is "stuck" for another year unless the Jags trade either he or Garrard. Both Garrard and Gray were reportedly unhappy when Leftwich was named unquestioned starter in Feb.
Stronger arm than either Leftwich or Garrard. Good mobility, but not as good as Garrard's. Has played well when given the opportunity...he just hasn't been given the opportunity much. Has looked good in preseason action but who knows what to draw from that because he usually is playing against second and third stringers. Smart and confident in his abilities. Thinks he can start somewhere but what young QB doesn't? (He's 27 so I still consider him young based on the lifespan of QBs as compared to other positions) Despite his physical tools, he isn't a workout warrior as he carries a little extra flab on his upperbody. Decent propect if you have the room to stash him in a dynasty league, IMO.
