Ran a 10k - Official Thread (4 Viewers)

today will be the first day since about October of last year where i get to run in normal conditions

no snow, no rain, no ice. it's not -30. there aren't 35 mph winds blowing.

today is the day i get hit by a runaway deer or a truck crashes in front of me and spills thousands of ball bearings directly under my feet and i slip & stumble in to a sewage drain. i know it.

forgot it was Boston marathon day :bag: go team!

Yeah, 9:39/mi in the last mile.  He's gotta be shutting it down.  Hopefully not due to injury and just the conditions.  I can only imagine how tough a race this is.
I'm sure he's in a dark place right now.  Especially since he didn't perform how he wanted at Carmel.  Whenever he reads this sometime later today or tomorrow, it's okay to be pissed off about this for a while...but you will bounce back from this.

Maybe he walked some at mile 21?
Could be the mats are exactly right over these short sections or they are right in the middle of hills.  Even if they are right, something like tying your shoe could impact your pace over such short timing sections.  I can't fathom upping your pace by 12% this late in a race as a normal course of action.
