I have thoughts, in my next Boston cycle, of traveling a couple hours south from Chicago on some weekends to get long runs in warmer climates.  The other option is to drive a couple hours north to run in grue's Pettit Center (~ 55 degrees).

I'm reminded of that day gianmarco tried to run on a treadmill.  I could hear his teeth grinding all the way in NE Ohio.

Yep, just now was the quad check.  Then the climbing begins.  Hopefully he was just in conservation mode aver that last 5K

today will be the first day since about October of last year where i get to run in normal conditions

no snow, no rain, no ice. it's not -30. there aren't 35 mph winds blowing. 

today is the day i get hit by a runaway deer or a truck crashes in front of me and spills thousands of ball bearings directly under my feet and i slip & stumble in to a sewage drain. i know it.

forgot it was Boston marathon day go team!

for those who have run this race before, is it mentally taxing to run on essentially the same road for that long??

Could be the mats are exactly right over these short sections or they are right in the middle of hills.  Even if they are right, something like tying your shoe could impact your pace over such short timing sections.  I can't fathom upping your pace by 12% this late in a race as a normal course of action.
