Need some advice from you—right now I’m signed up to run 4 marathons this spring:
·         Carmel Marathon on April 4 (only paid $48, so no big commitment here)
·         Boston Marathon on April 20
·         Prague Marathon on May 3
·         Lublin (Poland) Marathon on May 10
Obviously a lot to unpack here…
Don’t really care that much about Carmel and currently leaning towards skipping it.
I never run well in Boston, so I don’t think I’d attempt a PR, but a course PR (sub-3:10) would be nice…
Then there’s Prague 13 days later and Lublin one week after that.  I would love to treat Lublin as a goal race—it’s my wife’s hometown (so I’d have friends/family out there cheering), I’m familiar with the course, and a sub-3 marathon could theoretically put me in the top 10 finishers.  But I don’t know if that’s even realistic since I’ll be running two other marathons in the three weeks leading up to the race, and one of those is Boston, which is a race that’s typically slower for me to recover from.  And if I do give it a shot, obviously I’d want to run Prague nice and easy.  But HOW easy?  At what point does the extra time on your feet outweigh the benefit of going easy?  And it’s not like I can focus on rest/recovery during the in-between time, as we’ll be traveling in Europe, lots of walking, less-than-ideal nutrition, etc.
Looking forward to your honest feedback.  Next Monday is 16 weeks until Boston…
