RB Alex Collins, SEA (3 Viewers)

Not sure if this article has been posted but it sounds like they are actively working with Collins to correct the fumbling issue (or at least try).

“We’re working on the way he carries the ball a little bit technique-wise. He’s got one or two things that are an issue that we’re trying to fix. I do think in his case, it can be corrected. I think he’s very conscious of it,” Harbaugh said.

Even with the fumble I’m feeling pretty good about picking him up in 2 leagues 5 mins before the games started.

lets hope he starts again and fumbles never.

He played 17 snaps. I can’t believe NFL coaches don’t know that when he is in there he’s carrying the ball. He can’t catch, he can’t block, he fumbles and he’s on a crummy offense who won’t have very many positive game scripts. He has some nice burst, reminds me of how Ivory used to tee off time to time in NO. So, yes, there is value to be had. As is par for the course in the shark pool though it’s over the top in one direction or the other. I would be modest in any FAAB use for him and keep your expectations tempered.

I don't see this. This isn't your average hype train, we're realists. This is more like a hype bus.
I agree - I’m not seeing over the top KHunt gushing (  ) about him or anything.

most folks saying “if he stops coughing it up there’s value to be had”.

i see him as a nice BYE week flex type.

What we do know is, that Baltimore is looking for anyone and everyone to take the reigns, that isn't named Buck Allen. So, considering that West just isn't ever impressive, and fumbled himself a couple weeks ago.... Collins looks like a safe bet to lead the team down the stretch.

Both times he fumbled, he was doing some weird spin move and trying to make something happen rather than just securing the yards gained and possession. Definitely hope he gets that’s straigthened out.
No fumble is good but that one looked cringe worthy. For a second there, it looked like if he hadn't coughed it up, he was going to start running towards his own end zone.

In the first two games that was absolutely true.  He carried the ball virtually every play he was on the field.  Of course those were both blowouts so you can't read a lot into it.

Week 3 against the Steelers, he played 17 snaps and got 9 carries (53%).  That's a little run-heavy, but not crazy.  Overall the Ravens are at 47% running plays.  League-wide it's 44% running plays.

His fumble against the Steelers wasn't a spin move. He was spun around by 2 tacklers in the backfield. Still not a good reason to fumble though.

He’s on a short leash but he’s gonna be given the opportunity to make plays. He’s explosive. Hopefully he can go a week without coughing it up.

Rolling out four RBs in my lineup this week, none of whom are named Alex Collins.

Anyone really have the stones to roll him out this week?

Me. But because of byes, injuries and the thrill of it all.

No but for real, just imagine if he gets 20 touches. He might run for 400 yards.

In one league I lost DJ early and last week I lost Carson, Cook, and probably Montgomery. I don't have a choice.

Dropped buck Allen for him tonight. Already have some good ppr rbs in mCcaffrey, duke, ellington plus DJ on ir. I dont like the fumbling but it seems to me collins has a golden opportunity here. If the fumbles slow down, he's a virtual rb2 lock in all formats.

Yup I am in my big money league. Between injuries and byes it's either Collins, Gallman, or McGuire. Going to start Collins unless Gallman is named starter between now and then.

I see 2 potential outcomes, He does well in a game Baltimore should be able to control against the Ej Manuel Raiders, or he fumbles in the first series and doesn't play rest of game.

Like weebs i'm choosing between collins and gallman, going collins as well.

My RBs are Latavius Murray (just got him on FAAB), Collins, Wayne Gallman, CJ7H, and Jacquizz Rodgers. Rolling out Murray and Collins, things can go very good or very bad for me.

In order Howard, Hyde, Abdullah, D.Martin, Smallwood, D.Henry, Collins.

I might start Collins over Henry if I had to make that choice. But I would start all the others ahead of Collins without giving it a second thought.

Even with Smallwood’s sore knee?

Starting Collins over Henry and Buck in a 0.5 PPR. With Freeman, M. Thomas, Sanders, and Kamara on bye, those are my only options for the flex this week.

Buck is probably the safer play, but it is more fun to play Collins, and fun is what fantasy is for.

I'll worry about that when he's declared out. Hes #5 in line for me now so I'm not stressing. He's the most game flow proof RB on the Eagles. He has the Sproles role and even in a game they were just pounding the ball over and over he got 10 carries and 4 receptions.

When Collins seizes the job in Baltimore (WHEN!!!) I will bump him up over Smallwood/Henry but until then he rides the pine.

having to trust ravens offensive players in fantasy football is not fun.... as i can attest in starting buck for his last 2 crummy weeks

For me in my standard league it's bw collins, mccaffery (who has pretty much been a semi bust so far), Marvin jones, and john brown. RT now I have collins in there.

Ny confidence level is low.  But his cowling seems to be very high.  If he holds onto the ball and runs well, 15 carries and 100+ yards and a td seems like a legit possibility.  The dude is electric.

The fact that he fumbled twice in 25 carries and harbaugh is now working with him on ball security and still planning to play him tells me that he is the starting Rb for now even if it hasn't been made official.  But if he fumbles one more time I can see him getting benched and then cut.

So the risk/reward here is very high.

Starting him over Gallman with Freeman on a bye in one league. On my bench for LMurray in my other.

Just picked him up last night, considering starting him over Gore this week. I probably won't do it but I am tempted

Collins for me in the flex over Gallman, Lockett, Moncrief, and H. Henry. Not a particularly tough decision IMO.

With Carr out, I could see a low-scoring, grind-it-out type game (Vegas seems to agree - the O/U is just 39.5). If Collins can hold on to the ball, he could finally get the type of workload that we're all licking our chops about.

I'd start him if you're otherwise the underdog and Gore if you're the favorite.

Gore's gonna get a very predictable workload - 15 total touches, probably 70 yards, some chance at a TD. Whereas Collins could get 25 touches and bust out all over the place, or could fumble his first carry and not see the huddle again all day.
