RB Alex Collins, SEA (1 Viewer)

Is Collins a sell high in the off-season? I l know Forsett was a lot older than Collins, but this has that one season wonder feel to it.
i mean... forsett was 29 when he had his one good season. can't think of any RBs who "broke out" that late and were really all that fantasy relevant.

alex collins is 23.

but we really need to see what the team does in the draft. personally, i feel pretty confident that the team will address other issues and collins will enter the year in the RB15-ish range since his primary competition will be kenneth dixon, who looked "fine" last year.

but if the ravens play well in the postseason and collins shines on a national stage, we shouldn't rule out his ADP creeping up into low end RB1 range. a lot will be made about how he was top 6 second half of the seaon and he'll be and he'll be a polarizing player.

if his value sticks in the mid teens, i'd keep him. i'm a believer and think he shows tremendous instincts as a runner. i can see him having some solid seasons, a la marion barber or mark ingram (who he comps pretty well with).

On the flip side though he could be more like Spiller, C.J. Anderson or even James Starks after his nice run on the way to the super bowl in 09. There are comps both ways I am just wondering if someone is going to give you high rb2 price for him is it better to move on and find the next guy? I am still unsure.

Keep Collins. He has amazing vision and burst.

He just passes the eye test for me and he’s in a great situation in Balt.  And he was amazing in college.  I don’t think he’s a one year wonder.  I’m holding in dynasty unless I get bowled over by an offer.  Like an elite player for him.

Now, if Balt drafts a stud Rb that changes things.   But if they don’t draft a rb high and they peg him as their feature back I think more good times are ahead.

And he gets Marshall Yanda back next year too. The Ravens line has been playing much better lately and could really be good if that continues and then Yanda gets added to it next year. The Ravens would be wise to use their resources on a playmaking wr and some more OL depth rather than rb. If that happens, Collins could be poised for an even better situation next year.

Like to think that, based on need, the Ravens aren't looking for a stud RB.

Offered him to several teams down the stretch this season but no believers and no takers.  He has been on fire ever since.  A couple teams still alive kicking themselves for not taking the deal.  Hope to move him for a high draft pick next summer.  Probably can't keep given keeper restrictions.

With all the injuries on O this year its interesting to see their success. With a strong D and healthy Oline what will they achieve next year?

Collins has done far more than Dixon did and yet people were ready to appoint Dixon the starter eventhough he was injured. I don't get it.  Collins has almost a thousand yards and he has done it in style, averaging five yards a carry.

And he wasn’t even the featured rb until week 8!!!!

if they draft a RB in the first three rounds, his value takes a big hit and he becomes a great buy low imo in dyno. he'd probably be ranked in mid to low 30s in redraft...

to be fair, dixon was a 4th round pick who had a solid, if unspectacular, rookie season. collins was drafted 40 slots later, didn't show quite as much his rookie year, passed through waivers, and was just a practice squad guy to start the year.

collins' path to relevancy isn't exactly a well-worn one.

True. Maybe the Patriots will draft a QB in the first next year because Tom Brady wasn't a early draft pick.

The Patriots will draft a QB early because Tom Brady is 40 years old. It would be foolish not to. You can only defy father time for so long.

Come on you are comparing arguably the greatest qb in the game, to a running back that has shown flashes of being really good for about half a season.

We've been down this road before...

anybody know what happened to Collins today?

looks like one of his worst games of the year and lost a lot of carries late in the game

Well one thing that happened was Harbaugh called a QB off tacklevrun from the 1 instead of handing it to Colliins. I saw that much.

Got banged up, at least in 3 different occasions.

Last time late 3rd quarter and he never played a snap after that, not sure about his status for next week.
Yup his lower leg got banged up after a reception on the Ravens first drive of the second half. He sat out a series then came back in and caught a short pass, didn't look himself, and took himself out. I think he got one carry to spell Buck late in the 4th after that. It was mentioned by the sideline reporter that he was hurt but available for emergency use. With the score 27-10 and Deshone Kizer at Qb he wasn't needed.

not exactly. i didn't see much of him in the 4th but he definitely came in for at least one play and caught a pass pretty late.

broadcast said he was banged up a little bit (he definitely took a long time to stand up after one of his last runs) and coaching staff wanted to hold him out down the stretch as a precaution.

someone on twitter (with a blue checkmark) said collins tried to run onto the field to start one of the final drives but a coach grabbed him back.

My viable alternatives to Collins were Davis, Bibbs, Penny and Gillislee.  Not feeling good enough about any of those to keep him out of my lineup.
