Can anyone simply be a really good NFL prospect anymore? Why does everyone have to be 1 of 1 these days?

My only question is whether he will be involved in the passing game in the NFL. College numbers don't mean all that much, I think, as far as RB's getting targets. However, even the targets he does have, he's done very little with. 28 targets, 18 receptions, 102 yards, 1 TD. That would at least seem to indicate that it's not only that he isn't used, but that he isn't very capable, at this point at least, in the passing game.

I love him as a college back but I do worry about how physical he plays and the lack of receving work. He takes a lot of hits, his best skill is playing through contact but that has to wear on the body. Also, he makes a ton of breakaway college runs but does he have NFL long speed? I am not sure.

Oh yeah good point. I forgot how productive he was in 2023 as a receiver. I don't know why they aren't using him like that now.

From what I’ve seen in 4-5 games I’ve watched he’s shadowed by 2-3 guys on every play. He opens the field for every other receiver.
They need a QB more than a RB
He's been said to run in the 4.40 to 4.45 range.

Sanders 2628 Of note: No bowl stats were included in NCAA record keeping before 2002. He had 222 in the Holiday Bowl for a total of 2850 yds.
The 2628 was in 11 games and the 2850 was in 12.

Not quite a Barry season but still legendary and deserving the Heisman IMO. He's got Boise State in the 2nd round of the college playoffs, he challenged the all time record books. Would get my Heisman vote.

On a per game average (he's already played one more game than Sanders) Jeanty might hit #2 on the list depending on his last game.
I like the mocks of him going to the Titans and how it bugs people too. They had George and CJ and Henry and....welp some teams value RBs.
I don't agree with the market for RBs and think it's a shame how undervalued the position is when it was once so highly paid. Let it bug fans and GMs. Any rock through that window is good by me.
Along these lines, I think it's a very reasonable prediction to predict that some RB leads his team to a Supe, like Saquan, and that very fact will solely be used for discussion to mention Jeanty's potential value and...that doesn't mean he'll spend his career making truckloads of $

Adam Harstad checked in with another article about running back usage and mileage. He found no correlation between workload and injury for RBs. Again.
eta* Jeanty was in it with a tweet pulled from a writer who had recently talked about workload.

I agree. Dallas was the first name I listed. I’m just wondering who before those other teams would be willing and able to use a high first on a RB.

The way the Bears draft I could see them going Jeanty at nine.
If that came along with other savvy free agent moves, I wouldn’t be mad. But I’m guessing it wouldn’t.

Right. No idea who is available yet, but I was thinking several FA OL to go along with Jeanty and a good offensive coach could really elevate this offense to top 10.

The Raiders have a lot of needs but TT showed last year he will go BPA when he took Brock Bowers over Fuaga. I would not be floored if Jeanty became a Raider if we're in that pick ~7 area.
Of course QB is priority but I don't think it makes sense to sell the farm for a prospect of Sanders or Ward caliber. Instead simply take the best player available.

There are several serviceable FA QBs coming up in 2025. Fields, especially with Getsy gone, might be a good option.

I think they'll kick the QB can down the road again and try AOC as QB1, but definitely draft a guy in the mid-rounds and/or sign a vet QB to compete. Then target a QB high next year when we realistically are a bottom 5 team again.
Bowers is generational, Jeanty would be elite in short order, Meyers is a rock solid WR2 and our OL has a few good pieces. However we need a QB, Alpha WR1 and game breaking RB.
Raiders and Bears are first 2 that come to mind for me. I think Jeanty is a Zeke Elliott level prospect, I'd be shocked if he went any later than Dallas who is currently #13.
I think the Jags are a sleeper candidate. Could see the Giants if a QB doesn't make it to them, as sort of a seller's remorse type move.
I think Jeanty goes in the 5-15 range right now.
