RD 1 | PK 6 - Raiders: Ashton Jeanty RB, Boise State
With the sixth pick, the @Raiders select the highest rated player by NGS overall score (95) in hopes of improving a RB group that generated the 5th-fewest rushing yards over expected last season (-83).
Ashton Jeanty earned a 95 overall draft score according to the NGS draft model.
The rest of the top 5 — Reggie Bush, Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, and Saquon Barkley — were also all drafted within the top 10 picks of their respective classes.
Seems like he's the #1 in all standard.
I can see ward at #1 in superflex I guess, but obviously no where near consensus
Chris Trapasso
6. Raiders - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Flashy pick for LVR to get RB of Jeanty's caliber. Didn't move up to do it. Sneaky-explosive & best contact balance I've ever scouted. Don't love RB value this high (esp. in this class), but Raiders now more dangerous on O.
Grade: B
Any concerns about crappy competition?Should be a stud. My only concern is that his hair is too pretty.
Nah he shouldn't go over Ward.Seems like he's the #1 in all standard.

If I’m content with my QB room I’m absolutely taking Jeanty over Ward.Nah he shouldn't go over Ward.Seems like he's the #1 in all standard.

For sure. That was a typo on my part. I meant to say that ward shouldn’t go over Jeanty even in SF.If I’m content with my QB room I’m absolutely taking Jeanty over Ward.Nah he shouldn't go over Ward.Seems like he's the #1 in all standard.

Folks, including myself, took Bijan 1.01 over Stroud and Young, and both of those guys were better prospects than Ward.
Raiders last season: why watch that team? Raiders this upcoming season: a team you want to watch.
It seems like everyone is completely disgarding this as a possible issue with Jeanty. Is that warrented?Any concerns about crappy competition?Should be a stud. My only concern is that his hair is too pretty.

The real question is what’s the price you would pay/accept for 1.01? If you’re an awful team in need of a total rebuild, it probably makes sense to move him for a haul. Right?
That’s very affordable. If I could have gotten that deal I would have made it. I had the best team going into last year and just got hit with a ton of bad luck starting 0-7 losing game after game by less than 10 points despite scoring really well. So I sold off a couple vets and ended up with 3 first round picks. I offered those 3 for for Jeanty but he wanted next years first as well and that was just too much. The real question is what’s the price you would pay/accept for 1.01? Just a made a deal this week with the rightful 1.01 owner. Sent over the 1.03, '26 1st, and Bigsby. I consider my team one RB away and feel good about it being a late 1st in 1QB.

Yes it was 1.04,1.09 and 1.10 which ended up turning into Hampton, Judkins and Golden. That’s very affordable. If I could have gotten that deal I would have made it. Yeah, that's time to walk away, assuming at least one of those picks was early. FWIW, Henderson is the guy I feel the worst about walking away from, even if there's a very slim chance he makes it to my 1.05.
Desperately needed a stud (I know, who doesn't) and Jeanty is the one that reads like an instant impact Year One bellcow. That counts for something when you have a couple of other studs nearing the end of their window.
You can’t beat that at Cas Walker’s.Yes it was 1.04,1.09 and 1.10 which ended up turning into Hampton, Judkins and Golden. That’s very affordable. So long as that first league isn't SF (edit: which I guess would also depend on how you're situated at QB); I love your side of both of these trades. Smashing the accept button and not looking back.I traded for him in 2 of my dynasty leagues. He better be all that and a bag of chips!!
Gave: JJ McCarthy, 1.7, Dotson, Tolbert
Got: 1.1 (Jeanty), 4.1 (Royals), 4.3 (Ayomanor), 4.11 (Jaylin Lane)
Gave: Harrison Jr, 3.5, 4.5
Got: 1.1 (Jeanty)
That might be a better package even without factoring a '26 1st. It's plausible that Hampton is on the same tier or even ranked ahead of Jeanty in '26 redraft.Yes it was 1.04,1.09 and 1.10 which ended up turning into Hampton, Judkins and Golden. That’s very affordable. That first trade is just plain dumb on his / her part, SF or not.I traded for him in 2 of my dynasty leagues. He better be all that and a bag of chips!!

Not sure I agree with this regarding redraft. Jeanty has no competition and Hampton does. That might be a better package even without factoring a '26 1st. I definitely did not expect Hampton to make it to 1.4. I was in talks to trade up to 2 for him. Glad that didn’t work out! Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don’t make. That might be a better package even without factoring a '26 1st. Yes I definitely do have Jeanty higher. Significantly but it’s not at all crazy for Hampton to pass him. His offense could just be enough to push him past Jeanty. Not sure I agree with this regarding redraft. Fantasypros 1.11. Most leagues have a guy that want the shiny, new toy and are willing to reach. If that's you, I think you're going to have to pull the trigger around 7 or 8. Won't surprise me at all if he's cracking the top 5 in a lot of leagues come August. No chance of getting him in any of my dynasties. Do we have a pulse on how early I'll have to take him in redraft?
Late 1st, early 2nd?
