RB Brashard Smith, KC (4 Viewers)

I liked what I saw from him this past game. And don't like what I have seen from Pacheco and Hunt all year...seems like a no brainer flyer here. Might just take a few more weeks to truly pan out.

Idk if I like him as a runner though. Can anyone talk me into liking his running ability? Seems like a fine pass catching back
He was a decent enough runner in college, put up numbers. I see him as a 5-10 rush attempt player and 6-7 pass catches per game in the NFL. If he carves out that role for the Chiefs this year, he’ll be valuable for fantasy.

So Gio Bernard?
He’s more like McKinnon but 10 pounds lighter.

I felt lucky to get virtually for free via FA when he was a final roster cut. I assume due to his size and role that suggests. Size concerns led me to underestimate other recent RBs who became very productive NFL RBs.

Brashard Smith 5'10" 194 4.39 40

Running Back A 5'9" 199 4.36 40 (2000/20 TDs in 2024)
Running Back B 5'8" 188 4.32 40 (1500/12 TDs in 2024)
Running Back C 5'9" 192 4.55 40 (1500/8 TDs in 2024)
Running Back D 5'9" 194 4.65 40 (1500/16 TDs in 2024)

Also note Andy's history with smaller backs. He's had a few great ones.

My head is spinning.

This is just a "pick up any RB on any kind of news" type of day:

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that Chiefs RB Brashard Smith is expected to have “more involvement in the offense” moving forward.
Smith logged 19 offensive snaps last week, hitting the double-digit mark for the first time this season. He likewise hit season highs in carries (four) and targets (four). Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are playing very inefficiently and Smith’s pass-catching profile fits well with the Chiefs’ preferred offensive approach. His chance to establish himself as the Chiefs’ committee leader, or more, appears to be upon us. Seventh-round rookies cannot be viewed as guaranteed to succeed, but he is absolutely worth adding wherever available right now, before we find out if Smith has what it takes.

Seriously. I don’t have the roster space. I have one team starting Marks and Dowdle. With Carter, Kendre, and Tuten in the wings.

Problem is he needs to jump Pacheco and Hunt to have real value. Without an injury what are the chances that he flips the script that much? They have Rice coming back, worthy healthy…they don’t need to take risks.

They’ll spread it around. They don’t care about fantasy.

Had him and dropped him for Carter.

I don't believe the Chiefs drafted Smith to be anything but a receiving weapon with a few runs sprinkled in. Reid recently mentioned something to the effect they don't want Smith running it up in there much (I'm assuming due to his size). That's not his NFL skill set, anyway.

Smith will almost for certain be more valuable to KC as opposed to his FF owners.
